I would have to say Knights of the Old Republic II. I was absolutely in love with everything about KotOR so I was expecting something even more amazing. I didn't get it though. =( The whole game was buggy and a ridiculous hot mess of a story. Extreeeeeemely disappointing, but it wasn't the fault of Bioware so my hopes are high for DA:O. I pray that my hype is going to pay off and won't let me down like Obsidian did with such an awesome title.

The last game I got really excited about was Hellgate London. .....so I've been trying really hard not to be *too* excited about DA:O, for fear I might jinx it. D:

I would have to say no. I remembering waiting for the original Xbox, the Wii, KotOR II, Champions:Return to Arms, Halo 2, Halo 3, Gears of War 2, so many others but honestly NEVER have I been this excited about a game. Considering KotOR, BG2, DIablo 2, & Champions of Norrath are by far my favorite games of all time plus I used to love playing D&D and I love the fantasy world and setting of LotR due to being medieval setting this game for me is the perfect combination of all my gaming dreams!!!!

Yeah, I have. In fact, its pretty much a habit for me. I follow most of my games from announcement to release. Hell, I am even excited for some non-announced games sometimes, like for instance, the World of Darkness MMO that CCP is developing under wraps right now.

Past: LOTRO, Fallout 3, Hellgate London, Oblivion
Hellgate and Oblivion taught me to never get my hopes up,
Future: Stargate Worlds, Star Wars: Old Republic

No. Well, tied with ME2. I'm watching trailers on a daily basis, it's ridicilous.
DA much thanks to the overall likeness to BG & BG2.
Also since Xenogears is still one of all time favs I was hyped up when Square announced the Xenosaga trilogy, only to get smacked back to reality by the (IMO) totally average Xenosaga 1. I tried 2 and still haven't bothered wth 3...

This excited - only GTA SA and GTA IV comes this close.. one of them was a major letdown, so now I am a bit bothered about how DA:O will turn out.. what if it turns out to be just the same hypen lackluster game that IV was?

Yeah, once...Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Was an MMORPG that was developed by Sigil. I was excited because the CEO represented, to me, the spirit of Everquest, and the old world feel of baldur's gate. In an mmo, I thought it'd be great. Unfortunately, when they were 70% finished, microsoft cut funding, they released it and everyone left because of major bugs and lag. I wanted to tell myself that I'd never get that hyped again, but understanding a lot of the drama inside the company made me understand why it went sour. Didn't make me lose hope at all. Here's to Dragon Age living up to our expectations.

I think he meant that he liked Oblivion just that it didn't meet the hype what so ever b/c it had great graphics but bad acting, poor AI, and a terrible terrible story. PLus they sacrificed so many spells, weapons, armors, animations, unique items, quests just for ashiny graphics. Morrowind is only about ten times better than oblivion. Oblivion is good but Morrowind is legendary in my book just like DA:O will be!!!!

Diablo II, my wife (fiance at the time) was a beta tester but when the game came out I was broke because of my wedding and a move to another country. A buddy of mine got us 2 copies as a wedding present. I know it's weird (i guess a toaster is more traditional) but my wife and I spent hundreds of hours playing it together in our new place because we were too broke to go out and stuff. So i guess it was a good wedding gift.
I hope Diablo III comes out next year because it will be our 10 year anniversary

I'm not.. chomping at the bit for DAO. Especially since pre-ordering is easy these days with Steam. It's there, it's something I'll want to play and I was given enough incentive to fork my cash over early. I won't lie, I am a little excited, but it won't keep me up like Metal Gear Solid, Fallout 3, or the Wii did.

Only other games I've been this stoked to play were Kingdom Hearts II for PS2 and Mass Effect...
Getting stoked its coming, and although I can't afford DAO just yet, at least I can rest easy knowing its here

This is one of the few games that has me excited enough to go pre-order it. I usually wait for reviews then play a demo or two before buying a game. This is the only game so far that got me to join a game forum (this forum) to talk about the game. Sure it is a lot of hype but it got to me lol.

No, I'm pretty certain I haven't. Some games have been highly anticipated, but this one has broken all the records.

I'm definitely excited about this game but I'm unsure as to how it will compare with Baldur's Gate II so that's quelled my excitement a bit. I remember how much I looked forward to BGII and it was even better than I hoped it would be.
I was excited enough about BG Dark Alliance to pick up a console just so I could play it and was very disappointed in its over-simplified game-play and interface. I sincerely hope that Dragon Age will be every bit as sophisticated and complex as a PC game ought to be.

Have not been keeping up with DAO a regular basis until the past 6 month. Heck wasn't aware of the game until Game Informer did a cover story on it this past year. But over the past 6 months the more I read about it the more and more I got excited for this game. Especially excited for it because in terms of replayability it will joyfully help me kill the two months until Mass Effect 2 comes out. Out side of ME2 this is the most excited I have been about an rpg coming out since Skies of Arcadia Legends on Game Cube.
