Hello everyone,
Just wanted to ask a couple of questions before I have to go work 'sigh'.
Have BioWare mentioned if DAII will feature day one bonus mission content like they did with stone prisoner?
Is there going to be much in the line of future DLC and expansion packs?
Does anyone know the release day for UK?
Thank you for your time. I look forward to reading the answers in 17 hours time 'sigh'.
Dragon Age 2 : Much DLC planned?

Yes, there is day 1 DLC.
Sebastian is a DLC character like Shale, and is $8 if you didn't pick up the signature edition while it was available. There is also the Black Emporium which is free for everyone who purchases a new copy of the game.
There has been no official word on future DLC, but from various comments about how much more streamlined the dev process was and other comments, the best guess is that there will be a ton of DLC for this game. At least as much as DAO if not more.

I'd be willing to bet that the DLC for this game is going to be pretty expansive. DLC game modules for games like ME and DA are too good a source of income for company's to pass up. Sure they might thin out the content of the initial release but people will still buy DLC that allows them to continue playing their favorite games.

There will be more DLC. Probably a lot of DLC. And it will all cost money.

Well by DLC, i really hope they mean missions like Overlord and Shadow Broker, and not stupid armor packs and different looks. I wont pay more for vanity items, but i will pay for additional campaign content.

Many thanks for the replies (have to be sneaky like a rogue here as I am still at work).
I never even heard about a signature edition of the game due to being out of the game scene until I bought a PS3. Been playing Mass Effect II and Dragon Age : Ultimate Edition to much to know whats happening with games lately.
Do you think they will release Sebastian as a DLC pack at some point, or more likely they will save him for the GOTY UE version?.
Some kid in work was talking about the first day DLC being something to do with customization. Whats all this about then?
Will check back when I get home, thanks again everyone.

I would guess 2 expansions.
7-15 DLC packs, from simple goodies, to small campaigns.

There will be appearance packs for sure. Why else is it not possible to outfit your partymembers with different armor?

There will be DLC, and it will cost lossamonehz! Then, when the stop releasing DLC, just to laugh in your face extra hard they will release an Ultimate Edition which will contain all DLC, expansions and everything and will cost even less than the Vanilla Edition on day 1.

Probably quite a few story DLCs planned, perhaps even an expansion. Level cap's set to 50, but you'll only be able to get to half that in the game.

I cannot believe that I had waited so long to pick up a copy of the DA Origins! I absolutely am hooked! I have played through it many times so far and all the DLC available for it, and am eager to see what is made available for the future DLC regarding DA 2. I would love to see new weapons and armor styles available, and maybe some of the pre-order content made available for everyone to enjoy. In time, I believe that may happen. Right now we just have to wait and enjoy what is here available to us now.

The ending of Dragon Age 2 is described as "open" by more than a few critics. Hinting at DLC to finish the storyline.
Good ol' capitalism.

Would love to see expansions and DLC. If they put out a Awakening length expansion DA2 style I am all for it, although keep the companions this time. I purchase maybe 3 or 4 games a year and am more than willing to drop money on DLC to enjoy the games I like best.

"There will be two years of DLC for DA:O"
Anyone remember that?
Then.. "We are abandoning DA:O dlc... because we want to make sure DA2 is polished for it's release".
At this stage... I expect EA to flat out deny them anymore wasted money on this - and to laugh at the idea of DA3.
Sadly, I expect most of the team to be moved to SW:TOR by the end of the month!

I was somewhat under the impression that the character of Hawk in DA2 would have something to do with Morrigan and the main character as the result of the ending of "Witch Hunt" That is, if you decided to go with her through the portal. That would have been something. That the character of Hawk was actually your son (or daughter) in DA2 trying to piece things together of his parents past and his own. Unfortunately, that's not the case here as I know of at this time. Would be an interesting story though.

The ending of DA2 really left a few questions un-answered but it did pretty much wrap up what had happened. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't beaten it but I will say that it'll make you curious.
oh and I no problem getting to level 40 before I finished =)
