Would really make the game more enjoyable if we had a toolset at our disposal..
Does this subforum mean we will never get a toolset? :(

I agree they should release a toolset for DA2 or update the toolset for DA to be compatible for DA2 it makes the game a lot more fun and adds a lot more content

It means that we got no forum for it. Thats all.Incognito JC wrote...

One day ago there were only DEMO forums here.
I guess that meant that the full game is never to be released?
Though, they could as well "forget" to release the Toolset. I won't be surprised. But I will be dissapointed.

There could always be third party tools if there's no DA2-friendly toolset.

From the other thread:

Based on what Bioware people have said, the existing toolset should work for some things as is, which I've pretty much confirmed myself; it also means existing player created tools will work, sometimes only needing minor adjustments to be fully functional with the new file format. The two biggest things we need are the game resources and the ability of the toolset to read the DA2 ERF format.

I've testing the DA1 toolset. It doesn't work with DA2. BW said there would be NO toolset at launch for DA2.. but then said "the da2 toolset is very simlar to the da1 toolset" and that they would "see what they could do to update the player based toolsets"
don't hold your breath. From what I'm seeing is they aren't as "mod gung ho" with DA2 as they were in DAO

The game doesn't look that hard to mod (if you can mod DAO) all it need is a tool.

I was looking forward to the mods. Heck, its the reason I not only bought the PC version, but the game at all. Next time I'll wait until I see the game before getting it like last time. Thoguh if this game ends up being mod-less or are user unfriendly and a slap int he face of the fans of the first ones as it seems to be, I think I'll be done with this series.

I have hope, if not for a toolset than for modders to be creative.
People have been modding games for years without a toolset.
The BG series, KotOR I & II, JE, to name a few.
A toolset, at the end of the day, only makes life easier. :3

I suck at using the Toolset; but I loved modding my DAO game and would love to mod DA2.

I am keeping hope. I rarely mod my first play through anyway, but mod-ability is a very strong reason I enjoyed DAO as much as I did *past* my first play-through.
It is highly possible they want to maintain their "vision's integrity" on our first views of the game, so we see it for what it is and not try to mold it ourselves into a DAO clone, possibly planning to release one at a future date. *hopes*
I personally will maintain some hope for the future for either an official tool, or enterprising fans to find a way. I would *love* a way to increase the difficulty as I am not finding 90% of it to be a huge challenge, even on nightmare ( and trust me, I couldn't play DAO on nightmare because I used to the team I wanted, instead of needed - so I am hardly the best player lol
I enjoyed the mods that fixed bugs -- and would also love to lose the blood that I believe is in accident on the mesh that always covers the bottom front teeth during battles where we are splattered in blood. Such an easy fix IF we had a way to mod it and such a little thing..... but pretty distracting! Did people not notice that on testing or not care?. Also the lighting on the profile pictures.... would be nice to have some diffuse sidelit options (more flattering) Like I said, minor....but still, would be nice. I loved the ability of the modders to tweak things later, and the game come out well-written and designed - aesthetics adaptable by the players. It was a PLUS not a *need* but I really did appreciate that.
