Any ideas if the game just refuses to pass the launcher? No errors, no nothing. Absolutely no activity after trying to proceed past play. I have the retail cop and have tried starting on low settings, reinstalling, waiting until 2am (12am pst) updating my drivers and nothing at all.

It can't be corrupted. But when I do install my anti virus does catch two items. I wonder if it has something to do with it.

I don't know brother. Nothing Anti-Virus here. For now I am just giving up and going to bed annoyed and frustrated. Sure glad I pre-ordered and all lol. =P I will just check back here in the morning. Maybe a hot fix or something.

Uninstalled and went to sleep, loaded it back up again this morning and it again gave me the unsupported windows version shtick again.

Just going to go back to Gamestop and pray they have a Signature Edition to swap out my own with. I'm not sure what to do otherwise, and I'm hoping this fixes the problem.

If someone at Bioware could offer any explanation it would be greatly appreciated, assuming no one else knows of a fix.

If we do have to return our Signature Editions (and assuming it's not Vista 64 boning us over,) and we've used up the online codes for our account, do we input the new ones and reregister the new game we get?

This is yet another example of what happens to customers when game publishers force DRM on us. Of course, you will see a cracked version of the game within a week, because DRM does nothing to stop pirates, it only creates a hindrance for legitimate, paying customers when the DRM software (from Sony, who are notorious for TERRIBLE DRM software) does not run properly on 64-bit Windows.

Yeah im having this same same issue. It says that the game inconmpatible with my Windows XP 64 and i have to check if there is compatible software. However, the game installs without a hitch. Quite, frustrating.

I'm getting an error at the Configure/Play screen as well - when I select Play I get an error that DA2 has "Stopped working", it attempts to find out why, fails, then I'm forced to cancel out of the launcher. I'm in the process now of uninstalling and reinstalling from the EA Download Manager, and I'm also running Vista 64 bit.

My specs are more than enough to handle this game, my drivers are updated, what's going on here? I've been waiting too long for this game to be disappointed like this :(

Seems to be something only occurring on 64bit OS Windows as far as I can tell, at least with the replies we've gotten so far. I'm afraid returning my disc to the retailer and swapping it out for another Sig edition won't fix the problem, but it may be a bit of a wait until we get an answer due to it being launch day (and Bioware being understandably swamped.)

I don't think it's necessarily a computer issue at this point, because as Stoicism says, I'm got a beast system, all my drivers are up to date. I wouldn't say I'm not disappointed either, but I'm quite patient and willing to do whatever it takes to deal with this problem, even if it takes a few days as long as we actually get an answer. Screw ups happen, just want it fixed and none too worried as long as it does get fixed.

I got Windows 7 64bit and I'm also experiencing the same incompatibility problems. I have the standard edition one though.

Works fine on Windows 7 x64. For you Vista x64 users, try navigating to the Dragon Age II folder. Then right click on DragonAge2Launcher. and select properties. Click on the Compatibility tab, then change it to Vista x32.

This MIGHT work, though I can't promise anything. Sorry for the Windows XP x64 people, as you don't have this option. I upgraded from that operating system, because of the severe lack of support for it.

Nothing going right for me. I'm still getting the incompatibility with my Windows 7 x64. It tells me to get a x86 or x64 version of the program. Man this is so disappointing.

Have actually already tried doing that (on the launcher and on the actual exe,) and I don't even get an option for compatability with Vista 32bit.

Here's hoping we get a reply before I have to run back out to the store, only to find it won't fix the problem.

Been on the phone with EA tech support for about an hour now (awesome help especially since it's an odd error), and I'm beginning to think it's probably something we're going to have to wait for a patch for, unless a disc change fixes it (don't really believe this.)

Just hoping this leads to being able to help others with this problem.

I don't think it's an individual OS system problem, in so far as it's a 64 bit problem.

I'm running Vista 64, someone else said they had the problem under Windows 7 64 bit.

Same problem here.
So basically, we are stuck waiting for a patch or what ?

Is this some kind of new way to make cash on players, by selling stuff that only works when it feels like it ?
Or they just don't care for PC users.

Just bad luck, unforseen error. Probably haven't seen this error and are working on looking at it

Hopefully they do this quick.

I hate to say this, but for the past few months, game-companies seems to take their job way too 'meh', like they don't care anymore.
It feels too much like they want to release the game without testing whats really important, as they will 'fix' it if the problem ever appear.

Lmao, just like guys building a bridge, wondering if they REALLY need to tighten the bolts...

After all, there's only like what, 5 or 6 users worldwide of Vista 64bits... so why bother.

(ok, im being an ass now, but i wanted to play the game T__T )
