I wiped my laptop recently, so all programs are gone.  I do have all the backups for all the previous DA games & DLC.  I had heard that you could transfer (for lack of better word) in your DA:O/Awakenings character for a bit of backstory history in DA2.  My main question is what do I install first?  Do I need to go all the way back to DA:O or start with Awakenings (since the DA:O character transferred in there)?

For Windows 7 you can place your character save files here:

C:\\Users\\[username]\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Characters\\[character name]\\Saves\\

ok so which one do I reinstall? DA:O or Awakening?

You can manually insert your saves without re-installing the game if you create the above listed filepath (assuming youre on windows 7).

oh great .. thanks I am using Win 7 ...actually I think I have the whole folder already saved like that ... will just move it over from backup ...thanks for your help & wish me luck!!
