 I have the dog sitting in my house in the lower city but how do you get the dog to join your party?

Under the skill tree there is a category that says Hawke, look in there and you will see the summon icon - map it to quickbar, summon dog, don't get poop on shoe!

I find the dog so annoying in the prologue. Why do I have to wait for the cooldown to unsummon him? I find it runs way too far ahead of you and starts fights.

You go to Gamlen's house and trigger a dialog about it's name.

I find that it's no longer following me...which is REALLY annoying with the stupid cooldowns

I'm finding that sometimes he follows great... other times, he just stands there like an idiot. He's a bit broken... but still too useful to ignore, especially in larger battles.

What I hate about it is I can't keep him out. My sustained talents will stay up until I turn them off, but every time I load into a new area, the cool down is counting off. So if I feel I need him I have to wait.
