There is no way I will bother playing this if I cannot import my data properly... the only reason I was going to play this game is that it continues the story of the character I *was* interested in.
Man this import feature is all messed up!

Its a deliberate conspiracy to wipe out your warden once and for all I tell ye!
*takes off tinfoil hat*
Heres hoping it gets fixed, or someone finds a way to flag the save games for correct carry over.

Seriously, start messing around with your previous saves and look at the history it brings up, then go look at another one of you previous saves and look at that history, it will screw up and it wont show what level your character is at. thats when you know it messed up. then it wont show you the correct history. for instance , i know for a fact that the Architect lived and it even said that but after it messed up it stopped saying that the Architect lived. Bioware needs to fix this I had to reset my game and start over for it to load my histroy correctly.
So, if you reset the game and start over, your history may eventually load correctly ?
Well, it could be worse:(
If I have this issue when I get the game, hopefully a reset will fix the problem?

...
... uh, no.
I meant that if all the information that I worked on for DA:O does not transfer, then I have no real interest in Hawke.
The only thing I really anticipated about this game was the ability to continue building my own story. No continuation, no care...

Wonder if the PS3 version is the same.

I'd think so, but who knows?

BioWare should do my idea I had back when Witch Hunt messed up and release a save re-builder which allows the player to make all their decisions again, or at least go through a list of what the importer is reading and allow you to fix mistakes.
This may be immersion breaking as it allows players to tweak their story without experiencing it the way it was intended, but in my opinion the alternative is considerably worse.

If I can ask, what type of DAO file do you import in DAA? The fine named "epilogue" or another?

Ugh, the Witch Hunt release should have tipped us off that the import feature would be buggy.... Hopefully, we won't have to wait as long for a patch this time. *sigh*
No. What should have tipped people off was when people posted that even with the modded demo, there were problems with the import, but instead of taking the issue seriously, they said it didn't count due to the mods being from an outside source.

Into Awakening? The epilogue file, I believe so, yes.
For DA2 I just uploaded my most recent save on this character. Which happened to be at the very end of Witch Hunt (was actually an auto-save

Um, Witch Hunt came before the demo, hence it being the initial tip-off.ziloe wrote...

Thanks. I imported in DAA a savefile that I made after the epilogue. I think this is the problem. So I'm probably screwed. It'll be nice if someone makes a thread in the technical support part of the forum.

Yes, but naturally people may have assumed after those problems, Bioware might have learned about the bugs of importing story data. At least that's what I personally was lead to believe until I viewed the demo import for myself.

Noooo....!
I'm on the PC, but I imported the "Post Coronation" save into Awakening, and then the Awakening save into Witch Hunt...
Fingers crossed that my save will work anyway...!
EDIT: Wait, by "epilogue" save, do you mean "Post Coronation," or "Post Campaign?"
