What would that change? The game messes your choices up WHILE your playing. Not at the import/start, but in the game itself at different points. And these false flags than carry over in the rest of the game.
Oh... doh><
This is even worse.

Uhm guys, i think youre all mistaking here. The OP said the import is messed up if you keep choosing a different import. Then Stoomkal assumed it meant that it means that the games gets corrupted as you go.Stoomkal wrote...
No... the saves will import fine... and then the data will start to become corrupted - apparently.
The OP said that the further he played, details started to be changed.
He posted this a few times throughout the thread, and now youre all taking it as facts. So unless im missing something here, like a post from a guy that has the game, i think youre overreacting. Sorry if its just me being dense, and im not saying Stoomkal is a troll, i just think he made a mistake.
Bump so someone can tell me im right/wrong.

hey, does anyone have post witch hunt auto-save? i want to import a save but there only auto-save before battle with varterral and my own save not long after. i'm not sure importing these saves get my decisions in witch hunt, so i'm interested if you get save after or it's just some bug.
Probably won't make any difference which you choose to do on the original save by sounds of it the DA2 game will change whatever you did to some random choice as you play. That's the impression I'm getting from this bug/glitch/design flaw that need urgent patching.

The readme file on the game DVD says you're wrong.
Known issues:
- In some cases, characters in conversation make inaccurate
references to earlier events in Dragon Age II or to the events of
Dragon Age: Origins, if you imported a saved game.
People playing the final game confirmed this...

After Lycidas posts, I think I got it right.

In the PC read me file it list known bugs, one of which unfortunately is that saves from DAO do not import properly. Looks like they have the same bug for the xbox as well. What is even more disturbing is that it also says that decisions you make in DA2 early in the game also don't flag properly.
Edit: I'm hoping since its in the readme file they are working on a patch and will have it out asap.
It's in the actual readme of actual game? Bought in the store?
It says there that there's an import bug?!

What annoys me is that issue was present in the modded demo build, but any attempt to bring it up on the forums was met by a stern "You shouldn't be using the demo like that *Thead Locked*". I could understand that attitude if the issue was actually resolved by release.
I don't think thats the same. The demo had the import summary messed up and this workes just fine in the final version. As it looks you won't see the bug in DA2 until a bit later in the game.

Well this doesn't appear to be the same issue...TheSmudge wrote...

From what it sounds like (and the readme) the summary which is what was wrong in the demo is correct but some characters in the game make faulty references to some choices...
Still want a response on this from bioware though...

I didn't go to Awakening and I made a manual save after the auto-save that sends you back to your camp in origins.
As soon as I get the game, I'll see if I have problems myself. And if so, see if I can find a work around that.

i kept trying to import wardens but it wouldn't import my latest save, just the one which was in the #1 slot on the top - which happened to be like a level 12 warden running around in the brecillian forest before she got to do/finish anything. it was really frustrating and the only way i could fix it was to delete all my saves except the one i wanted to import.
i never finished awakening because of this. :x

I am going to check to see if that is an option in Dragon Age II as wellz

So when you imported your save and it had a list of all the things you did, did it actually mention Golems of Amgarrak? Mine mentioned something about Awakening and then straight to the main event of Witch Hunt, no mention of Golems at all. I did the standard Origins-->Awakening-->Golems--> Witch Hunt, and the save I used to go from Golems to Witch Hunt was right before the Harvester right as I didn't get a save after that.

It did not mention Golems at all, no worries. Hopefully, it is mentioned anyways. Yep, I used the save right before the Harvester as well. =)

Good to know, thanks for the response. Hopefully my DA2 playthrough won't get this strange bug with the mixed up lore. I just finished my first year in Kirkwall and everything still seems to be in order.

The pure fact that you actually made it to the last fight is worth mentioning IMHO (playing on nightmare that is).

I just thought they might add a line alluding to the fact that you went through and completed Golems, just something to let you know that it was included in your save.
