I've tried multiple times to install the game. It gets all the way to the end, but it comes up with a general  "Installation Failed" @ "35.9% - bin_ship\\core\\QtGui4.dll" each time, though one time it did freeze at that point instead if giving the Failure screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, my head is about to explode.

ETA: Am installing on PC from a disc. Let me know if any other information would be helpful.

Have tried installing on both my hdd's and still no luck.

Uninstalled the demo as well just in case that was what was causing the problem, but no such luck.

ETA: Am up to six unsuccessful installs.

Reinstalled DirectX, No luck.

Am up to eight unsuccessful attempts, each after varying some factor to try and figure out WTH is going on. Still at a loss.

Seriously need some help here.

Hate to keep bumping this, but i am adding new info and I am at a loss.

Went so far as to restore my computer to factory default, was having a few issues anyway so I figured it might be for the best. However, still no luck.

I have done everything I know to do, even installed it on another computer that cannot run the game. It installed correctly on that one, but when I install it on my gaming computer it keeps failing near the end of the install.

I have also filed a request for help with the EA support thing, but still no response.

Am running XP
3.6 ghz Intel single core processor
Radeon 4670 HD 1gb
1tb HDD, so plenty of room on it

Try another cd/dvd drive if you can, it worked for me, i had the same issue.

Copy the content of the Dvd disc to a folder on your desktop and try running the installation from there

Thanks for the replies. I am losing my mind today. I dont have another DVD drive unfortunately, but I am currently in the process of copying the disc to my HDD to try that approach.

Thanks again, will post if this solves the issue. Also, any other ideas would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with installation, would be very interested in any fixes as well.

I tried the copying to a folder and ran into two files that wouldn't copy. Wether this is from copyright protection or not I have no idea, but they seem like the files that wouldn't install from what little I saw during installation so I'm wondering if there is a connection

the files are core_audio.rar and core_data.rar (or whatever the file extension is).

Every other file has transfered smoothly.

without these files I don't think it's worth trying to install from the new folder, but figured I'd pass along the info.

Solved in my case. Copied files to HDD, then ran install. Worked like a charm. Thanks much Syrellaris. As for you wraith, sorry that it didn't work. Good luck.

i tried this and the install still goes all the way to 100% then says installation failed and closes,,59$ for a coke can coaster and best buy wont take it back ,,,where can i physically touch someone responsible?

For the one still not working, go to activate.ea.com and fill that out, then make sure you have the Origin program form EA. Log in to Origin with the same info used to activate your key on the site I gave you. Now download the digital version. It won't cost you anything and, it will eliminate and possibility of it being a faulty, too slow or otherwise problematic DVD drive as well as the possibility of a faulty or damaged disk.

If it is the disk, then contacting EA support will allow you to get a replacement disk but, in the meantime, activating and using the digital version my just get you playing the game ASAP.
