When i start up DA2 and after i press play, it shows the load screen in the middle of my monitor but after 5 seconds it says that "Dragon Age 2 has stopped working" and i have to close the program. I have already tried to reinstall the game with no luck.
Any suggestions please?

I had the same problem. I switched from DX11 to DX9 and it started right up for me. Probably need to update my drivers.

Have the same propblem and I am updating drivers now. The demo worked for me so switching to DX9 will likely fix the issue for me as well. Bioware and Nvidia both recommend updating the drivers for DX11 to work properly.

I installed the game after buying it at midnight tonight (PC) I know the instal should say PC but you never know these days what people will think. Anyway lol, I installed DA2, when I clicked launch it took me to the first launch config> In this screen I updated my video settings, audio etc and clicked >play< after saving them. The game tried to launch and nothing. No error, no nothing. Not even a try on my process window. I reinstalled the game after repairing the instalation and same thing. I waited until 2 am my time, 12 pst, thinking maybe it was the security of the game Bioware mentioned. Still nothing.

Someone said download your beta drivers and try that. Until your company releases new ones. Trying that, will update here of course on whether or not it works. <3

I'm getting an error when I launch the game through Steam. Microsoft Visual C++ error, R6030 CTR not initialized. I've updated drivers, windows service packs, most recent Direct X and tried going back to DX9, as well as a fresh install of Microsoft C++ Visual. But the game just won't get passed that error. Desperate for suggestions.

Indeed you do.

I got the same error as the OP this morning -- .exe file would crash when the splash screen would come up to begin loading. Under DX9 it would run, under DX11 it would not.

I run an NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT on Windows 7 64-bit, and as soon as I updated to NVIDIA's newest beta driver, it started right up in DX11.

When you click da2 the and wait for it to load, I think there should be a configure button, click that and another panel will appear, click video on the left I believe and you should see dx11 or whatever it's on now and change that.

Click play on the launcher and nothing happens. Run DragonAge2.exe and nothing happens. Updated my graphics drivers and it didn't help. I have no clue where to go or what to do next.

I've tried everything in the configure, allowed everything through my firewall, turned my firewall off, compatibility mode, anything i can. Still does nothing after i click play in the launcher or run DragonAge2.exe. Just sits there.

Got my game working. Had to do a clean boot. Something in my start up was blocking DA2.

Getting the same problem. Booted up first time, but I didn't start the game in order to activate content. Tried going back into the game. Clicked Launch in Steam. Opened launcher. Hit play. Black screen. My mouse changed to the DA mouse, except in the center of the screen where it went back to normal. Brought up Task Manager to see that the game crashed and had the error message. Rebooted PC. Was able to play, but it crashed right after the cutscene after the first Ogre. Can't get it working again. Trying to update drivers now, but I'm almost positive that the drivers listed on the ATI site are the ones I'm using right now. Using a 5800 series.

Alright. I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32 bit. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650. I have the latest drivers. I've reinstalled the game but I'm still getting the same problem. I click play, and it says "Dragon Age 2 has stopped working." Every single time. My firewall has it permitted it to do whatever, and I don't even have any antivirus software whatsoever that would be in the way. I even got past the release date check. I tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 and everything else, NOTHING WORKS! I changed it to DX9 instead of 11 and NOTHING WORKS! I am thoroughly disappointed.
