I log in fine, but during gameplay this weekend, every few minutes this annoying nag pops up on screen.

Temporary overload on servers or what?

OK, every one can laugh... but I only have dial up access from my computer. I am not able to log in to start the process of downloading the extra content. Ar the servers set to reject certain low level connections?

I have given all DOA components permission to access the internet via ZoneAlarm.   Just to clarify I tried with ZoneAlarm not running, which did not work work either.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

... I hope you used the SAME (e-mail)account to both register the game and get online ingame?

Yes, cause if I didn't it would give a "incorrect username and/or password" error, not unable to connec to server error. I also just tried (to verify) an incorrect username and password, and both times it gives an incorrect username password error. I also previously tried making sure my firewall is set up correctly, turning off my firewall completely as well as a friend's internet connection: All without success. The only thing I can think of from this point is that either there is an error with a file in the Dragon Age installation i.e: incorrect server specified, or there is a problem with the servers themselves. Other than that, I'm thinking (though rather extreme) its a random, very strange glitch like CoD 4/5 mic glitch

Huh? Weird....

So it's structural?...

>> Tbh, can't think up a reason why the game could have put a wrong adress for the servers... since it is coded within as far as I know, and it's about the same for everyone. And the servers should be fine, otherwise you'd have heard it more often already.

(You don't happen to live in some obscure country somewhere in the Atlantic or Pacific ocean that noone is interested in and noone cares to sort for the right server connection? :P Only reason I can think up besides an really random strange glitch :P)

I was getting some random time outs, but that was all. Today, no problems at all. A question for the "Sir Taskmaster": If you are using a dial-up, why in the world would you bother with 24/7 AV and Firewall protection? My suggestion; Turn them ALL off! I would turn on AV protection via manually and only when online. Firewall, let windows Security handle that, I mean why use firewall protection for a dial-up?

Everyone is a where that you do NOT need to connect to the internet to play the game right?

How are you trying to access the internet connection with DAO? Are you using the Disc autorun or a desk top shortcut? If a shortcut, right click the icon, select properites and what comes after the TARGET:?

You don't need an connection to play the main game... yes....
But DLC... that's an entirely different story. I believe that is EA's idea... those people over there are that nuts that you'll need to be online (even for single player) whole the time when playing a game with C&C 4.

Ya, I heard about the C&C 4 online thing. Strange to say the least.

TUHD: Funny you should mention that: I'm located in Namibia, but I can't see how that is a problem. I play WoW with no problems, and short of FPS games (due to personal connection speed - can always upgrade), I have no problem playing online.

Having said that: Gunny, Sir TaskMaster: Where r u located? Could it really to a location issue, like MS Live not supporting certain countries?

Namibia isn't some obscure country... I meant countries like Montserrat and such other small countries noone will ever take an interest in... :P
Anyway... Although Africa isn't the best market for game developers, as far as I know it is covered enough... so technically you shouldn't have a problem. But the practical part... aye... mmm... interesting problem.

Have you already tried the following topic? http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613
(I am using 50kb of an shared line that is totally 19 MB/s wide... speed isn't/shouldn't be a problem)

If you REALLY don't get to see anything but have got the codes for the DLC (and also redeemed the codes), attempt the help-topic somewhere around here...

The Blood Dragon Armor Addon works fine, but the Stone Prisoner says im unauthorized to use it, even though i have the code. With logging in out of the question, is there any other way to authorize the addon? a sort of manual authorize maybe?

Think I figured it out: borrowed my Dad's G3 card and connected with that, works fine - in game log in and every thing. Now this is could just be that the servers aren't that busy, BUT if you are having the same problem then I suggest trying another connection type.

The G3 is a lot faster (1meg) is that could be the problem as well.

It's happening again, I can't load my save game and play because it says "unauthorized" and when I did the fix and removed it all and tried to download the content again it says I have to repurchase, if I try it says can't connect to dragon age servers! what gives I already purchased the content, why would an off line game require internet access? what if I got rid of internet access or wanted to play on a computer with no internet??? this is BS!

Short answer: The authorization servers are down. Everybody is having the same issue. EA cannot give an ETA for the fix, so it sounds like it was a massive crash and it could be days.

Do not adjust your set. Do not re-install. Do not buy the content again. Go do something else and wait until normal service is restored.

Annoys me that the people playing cracked games are better off than the people who paid good money for their game. Great message to the public, EA and Bioware.

Thread yes, problem not. Problem reappears, thread suddenly becomes relevant. Is this all-games-wide problem? F. Ex. Can I go play ME2, or will I run to same DLC unauthorized crap?

Bulls**t.  Like the 50 other threads posted in the last twelve hours weren't enough?!

No idea for sure, but I suspect ME2 is unaffected, as DA2 appears to be, for that matter.
