The game is crashing with in moments of entering combat the first time information is below

Same thing here, they had me try reinstalling, and using the administrator users. I also tried using the beta (preview) drivers from ATI, nothing has helped yet.

I see you had the main exe crash, it's the config exe that's crashing on me.  I never get to the main exe.

Turn off the videos in the initial configuration dialog, and as it does not help, then change your rendering of "D11" to "D9"- both options in "graphics".

The configuration utility crashes before I can get that far. Is there a file that it looks for in order to tell whether to scan or not?

I just found where DragonAge.ini is at and compared it to the older one from the original game.  It's a lot shorter, so I uploaded it to support, and hopefully they can see where the scan is crashing at.
