Ok so I just installed my retail copy. The when I pressed play the windows command screen(the black screen thingy) and went to this C:PROGRA~/DRAGON~1/bin_shift/DRAGON~2.EXE came up  and my AVG said there were 2 viruses coming from one of the dragon age 2 folders. Please help.

I have the same problem.. I noticed that the game started installing after ~74% download and it weighs 5.7 GB instead of 6GB+ as it stated in the first place..

I don't have an anti-virus, except the main Windows Defender with which I have added an exception. The game installed fine (Store bought, not digital copy) but when the main Dragon Age 2 logo comes up it just stops working, Vista tells me it has encountered a problem and must close. Seriously, I just bought this game...

Get rid of AVG.  Use Avast.

AVG has become problematic for game players.  However, you should always (at least if you have the option) disable the AV program during the install, whether it is AVG or not (and Kaspersky is also a bad one in gaming circles).
Anyone else piggybacking this thread, sorry, but I only answer the OP author.
