Also; for some reason when I go to task manager it only has one CPU core usage graph up... and when I go to view in order to set it to two, no options are available under CPU history minus a grayed out "One Graph Per CPU"... thanks in advance.

For a brief moment I thought you were really saying they had fixed the issue =P. Ah well, I can wait........hopefully.
I imagine that for the time being they're trying to find a way to fix the problem using methods on our ends rather than working on a new patch to fix the issue, saves time and money after all =P.

I just realize that my windows XP dont recognize my Core 2 duo (about time i realize after 3 years of using this computer lol)
Updated BIOS, all drivers etc
After looking for answer on the net it seems the problem is XP, ill probably need to repair and see if it fix it.
By the way, CPU-control cant set 2 CPU on any program so i think my problem is there.

These things can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days to figure out. First they have to repro the problem. Then they develop a fix and test it. Then they have to deploy it.
That being said, I'd be happy to help beta test the fix.

Problem #6: Can’t load or save game when playing Dragon Age 2 PC / Game crashes after saving or loading a save file
Possible Solution #1: (by Oztiks708)
instead of using the launcher I used the Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age™
II\\bin_ship\\Dragonage2.exe file and started it up that way, and it
asked that I log in and activate again! So I did, I started of with the
EA preload. loaded it up just fine and I currently can save without
the annoying forever loop of death! =) gl hope it works for yall. It was found here. - http://www.gamebrood...aunch-and-more/
I found another so called I am gonna test it out in a moment.

I am convinced it is definitly a save/Load game problem. I disabled the auto save and got quit far into Kirkwall. After I found my house and equiped new bonus items I pressed save and when I went to leave it froze on the loading screen again. All was lost.

People just don't read before they post.. do they.
At least skip to the last page and read backwards until you notice that you will NOT be able to save with a single core until they patch the game.

It is indeed. The problem seems to stem from the amount of cores being used to run the game. Single-core users are SOL for the time being, and multi-core users who find themselves in the situation where their computer only uses one core to run DA2 have to use a work around.

Even some mutli core processors computers are not able to save or load. Though for mutli core processors ppl here is a quick fix I found that might work for you. You will have to try it since I am able too. Though single core users try the empty temp folder if you wish. I can't grantee it will work.Nasmodok wrote...

8# Dragon Age 2 – Unable to Save or Load Game
If you are unable to save the progress or experiencing infamous save
bug. Empty your Temp folder and restart. Make sure you have uninstalled
Dragon Age 2 Demo just in case.
People with single core processors haven’t been able to save. It’s
stuck in a loop,so if you try to save manually, you’ll have the save
icon stuck on the right side of your screen. And if you try to save
automatically, you won’t make it past the second cinematic.
If you have a multi core processor and for some reason you are
experiencing the same issue. You may want to check the affinity set for
Dragon Age 2 process.
- Open Task Manager.
- Right Click on DA2 exe.
- Set Affinity > Make sure more than one processes are selected.

I figured out a fix that works on my machine. I turned off User Account Control, and for some reason now I can save and load. Go to Control Panel or the Windows button on the bottom-left side of your screen and type in "User Account Control". Select the first option, and turn it off. Then reboot.

Right Click on DA2 exe.
Set Affinity > Make sure more than one processes are selected.
This is what worked for me. Although being on Steam, it was the Steam.exe I had to set the Affinity on, BEFORE launching DA2. Apparently Steam apps inherit the affinity from Steam.exe. so in summary ...
Open Task Manager.
Right Click on Steam exe.
Set Affinity > Make sure more than one processes are selected.
Launch DA2.
Hope that helps some of you running multi core processors. Single core peeps, I'm pulling for a quick patch for you guys (and us so we don't have to do this).
