I have this same problem as well. I have the direct download from the EA store version.
It's bloody annoying, because this means I'm probably going to have to go through the demo AGAIN. I played through it three times as the demo, and frankly, a fifth time is going to be too much.
Cant get past loading screen.

I've re-tried playing the game a bunch of times with different changes (dumbed down settings, console commands, and even appearance changes in character creation). Each playthrough i got the logo in a rotating circle on the right.
Only thing i noticed so far is your family looks differnet for every look you choose (kinda cool but off topic).

It's not a loading problem. I'm sure it is a SAVING ISSUE. Saving thread is the reason of never ending loading story. Some kind of FAIL for BioWare?

anyone know if this is just a PC issue or for consoles too?
#36
Posté 08 mars 2011 - 04:50
PC single core issue, it seems
#37
Posté 08 mars 2011 - 05:01
Knowing the past of Bioware we should have waited a month or 2 for them to work the bugs out.
and yes im using a single core. should that matter? cuz i played to demo just fine.

yes almost certian of it. Saving renders you incapble of proceeding loading to the next mission since the Saves never complete when you iniatte them.
Only way to go through the game atm now is to disable auto-save and go through the game without saving.

its a saving issue only. I think i know why or at least the gist of it. Once the game begins to save your file it some reason can never finish doing that. And you cant load a new map while its still trying to save where you were in the original one. It doesnt pause the game like it did in Dragon Age Origins when it saves.
Thats what the symbol in the middle right indicates that hte game is saving your file.

Any reaction from developers? HOTFIX? May be the game has advanced logging feature, it just "Start Saving" forever? SCREAM

Ok, for all my fellow gamers having this really cruddy problem... up till a few minutes ago I was in the same boat..... I think I fixed it for the time being. I usually have to run it at one cpu to avoid the skipping, but I didnt this time either! What I did....
instead of using the launcher I used the Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age™ II\\bin_ship\\Dragonage2.exe file and started it up that way, and it asked that I log in and activate again! So I did, I started of with the EA preload. loaded it up just fine and I currently can save without the annoying forever loop of death! =) gl hope it works for yall

And to the fellow above with the potential fix...darn it. When I went to the DA2 bin_ship and used the .exe, it didn't ask me to log in and re-activate. Tried playing, still in the endless loop of saving. Nuts.
Hope it helps someone else here, first idea I've heard today at a workaround. Guess I'm stuck waiting for Bioware to fix it.

Right here with you, folks. I am soooo frustrated and disappointed. I could not wait to get my hands on this game and now I can't even play it.
(btw, I bought it from GameStop, and loaded everything from disc...)
