Also having this issue... haven't tried to autosave=0 workaround since I don't really feel like playing through the prologue plus whatever three-four times over in quick succession. Hope we get a hotfix or at least an acknowledgement of the problem soon.

Steam Download btw and duo core machine (so not just relegated to single core)

Good to know it's not just a single-core problem. That issue w/ ME2 was cause for much frustration.

Same issue on my copy as well (from Game Stop - signature edition), never ending loading screen. Glad that I know it isn't an issue with my computer, was already frustrated from having to wait till 3:00 AM to even play and then was worried my computer screwed up some how.

Never had this much of an issue with a game before, I would have assumed they would have fixed it by now. Guess not -_-* Waste of almost sixty dollars!

Yeah, I'm waiting for a fix for this issue. Other than saves not working, everything else is fine. I can actually get past that Loading screen;.

Its definitely a saving problem. I tried to disable the autosave in the file, and incredibly it worked. I actually saw the game beyond the damn kirkwall cinematic. Unfortunely as soon as I tried to save, that damn logo popped up and next loading screen went back to into the loop. Is it too much that we get a bioware response to what the hell is going on with this bug?

Yeah saving is the root of the problem. Some people, like myself, can't even disable the autosave function, so once I adjust my character's looks, I'm screwed =P.

I am shocked bioware hasn't even talked about it yet if they have I have missed it. I am fairly angered over this whole deal. I am normal a vary laid back kind of person but after the anti piracy wait I had to do and this long wait of still not being able to play I am honestly just pissed off. I really like bioware as a company and love their games but this is just rubbing me the wrong away.

Hey guys...I might have just gotten past it. DISABLE AUTOSAVE. That's all I did, and it's running fine, and I'm even able to go back into options and save a game. I was able to play through the opening of Kirkwall.

UPDATE (5:13pm, 3/8): I hit the same problem during the next transition, too (stuck in load screen), and then when I quit and re-started the game, the save I did before Kirkwall does not seem to be available under "Load Game." The only option is starting a new game (for the 5th time).

BTW, Mod, thanks for addressing this. (I'm running the exact same things
as Q4Waveslr except I installed the upgrade to DirectX.)

Same problem here... I disabled autosave and didn't see the "save icon" spinning around. Finally got past "loading" screen to Kirkwall after 4 tries. Tried to save game... "save Icon' spinning in the corner again...So I have to create my char and go thru this all over again?

I tried disabling autosave and when i went to save the save icon popped up just as if I had autosaved and got stuck there just as before :(

Like all of us on here, we paid full price for a game that we want to play. In return, we need communication from Bioware. Nathan, I think you have a pretty wide variety of hardware/software demographics to work with. So what's next?

Any information that you can provide will be beneficial. Even a "we are looking into it, but I won't have an update until tomorrow morning" would be something.

Thank in advance for your assistance.

I'm having the same problem. I hope we get a fix soon. The save icon is never ending and the load screen is stuck.

DirectX 9.0c (Jun2010) or later

AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3000+ 1.8 gHz

Gameplay is fine, just can't save.

Vid drivers are the latest off NVIDIA website if that helps at all.
