Can't bealive this is still not fixed x_x Don't mean to keep posting just to complain about it. Glad that they working on it but man... I would really like and update or something. Just didn't think it would take up the hole day with this many people having the problem. Hope to hear form them soon I know there hard at work on it just... its getting to me x_x.

I feel you. I've been complaining to all my friends, threatning that I would never buy a Bioware game again. Obviously I don't mean much of it, but it's just such a blunder to not play the game you really want to play, you know?
Really hope this gets fixed soon.

Call me a little impatient brat for bumping this up, but I think that more people should be aware of this problem.

Sat down and updated all my drivers, went through my device manager and found two missing drivers (AC97 audio and a promise RAID driver) so I fixed that...serendipitous discovery that it was, still didn't fix the problem. Removed all nonessential hardware and that didn't work.
Noticed that on my working PC the systeminformation.xml (in documents\\bioware\\dragon age 2) has my account listed as admin=true whereas the non-working one has it listed admin=false despite being logged in as an admin account in windows. Putzed with the setting, no difference. Just an interesting note.

EDIT: Still, nice to see some constructive posting on here :D

What happens if we decide to change "admin=false" to "admin=true"?
I'll try that right now, and report in.

Hmmm... I don't seem to even have a "systeminformation.xml". Maybe not looking hard enough :P
I'll try to figure this out as well

That loading icon is the game trying to autosave and in you trun if off you can try to save but in my case it would not save.

Ya thanks for the updates I sadly admit to not being as savy in fixing said problems I've only mess with it a bit and already posted my findings or found others that did the same. Glad to see someone as new ideas to try out sorry I am not being vary helpful in the fixing of said issue.

It's got to be some sort of weird incongruity between the DA2 software and some arcane piece of hardware or system setting in this computer...the question is: which one? I'm thinking the possibility of a non-patch workaround is getting pretty slim. Here's to hoping Bioware can make use of our discoveries to get this fixed quicker <3
Good luck BW!

Just wondering something... If you go to Documents/Bioware/DragonAge2/Logs scroll down to where the "Saving - Start" is and right below it mine says "Saving - Start" again. I cant find a "Save Games" folder anywhere. Dont know why but let me know if anyone else has similar problems

I'm going to take a guess the problem is Single Core. I'm aware that dual and quad are having the same problem, but the majority of problems seems to be coming from single core PC's.

If it is in fact a single core option, does that mean the only way to get a fix is to... Upgrade?
I really hope that isn't the case. my computer can run this game almost perfectly.

An interesting find after looking into my documents/bioware/character folder I found only one character in witch was the one i made when i disabled auto saves and got into the game and tryed to save myself. The save however not working and just spinning forever in witch I ended up quitting out of the game as I did not feel like playing through once more. Booted up da2 to see if it was load able and it was not. Odd

From the steam forums, I've heard people with quad and dual cores are having this problem as well. I'm not so sure.

Doubt it's a single core problem, when we had the single core problem in ME2 we couldn't even start the game, it would just crash and/or get stuck loading before the intro

Yeah they came out with a patch and the game works fine for us single core users now.

Damit! Having Same Problem And Symbol In Game As Well I Doubt That Haveing A Dual Processer Would Matter Since the Game Ran Fine and went through two loading screens without a problem

i personally think this issue is due to a missing save file. its trying to save but cant find the file forcing it to search endlessly for one. hopefully its a quick fix.

Wish we could get an update on this, even if it's a "Yeah, we're still lost" kind of update.
