Now i doubt that setting graphics to Low did it for me, but I went into the configure settings before i clicked on Play and changed Graphics to Low, and I turned Music OFF.
Upon reloading the game and running through the tutorial I was able to get past he Kirkwall infinite loading screen.
My guess is that there's an issue with a song or the way the game plays music at this point which chokes on certain setups.
It worked for me tho,,... back to the game.
hope that helps.

Sorry for more pestering questions, but how long until it was fixed?
I'm wondering so I can take that into account into wondering when this will be fixed. lol, I just really want to play.
With ME2 it took a long time, don't remember how long exactly but it was awhile. However with ME2 they had to redo certain graphics so that single cores could handle them, that's complicated. Save file errors are usually simple once you know what to look for.

2 GB Ram
Windows 7, 32 bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, 767 mb
Game runs smoothly, in fact better than Origins after 2 hrs of play, just can't save.

Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise (6.1.7600)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS
driver version 266.58
DirectX 11 (Jun2010) or later
Since there isn't any obvious pattern in the hardware, my guess is that it's some sort of weird conflict with Origins, Awakening, or DLC. Probably one of those simple things that's easy to overlook in testing. I'm sure they'll have it fixed soon.

Anyone have any other ideas? At this point I'd consider setting a goat on fire to all the dragon age gods(maker included) if that fixed this.
Hmmm animal sacrifice, might work. But I live in northern New Jersey we're a little short on goats up here.

Can always sacrifice some chipmunks.

I'm sure stopping at the nearest McDonalds and sacrificing a few Big Macs might produce the same results.

Guess it's back to playing Origins and beta testing some more mods, or playing Pokemon Black, I guess.

its killing me not being able to play. i've seen 5 dragon age commercials in like an hour...
We can still play, it is just that we have to turn off auto save and play the game in "hardcore mode" our first play through.
I tried manually creating the save folders, no luck with that idea. Working in the tech field troubleshooting device and software issues along with sending stuff to developers, I understand this can take time. Our logs aren't of much use though as this is all I see:
Saving - Start
All others after the start have the rest of the process going through.

Swirly loading icon of eternity, greyed out save button, loading screen of death.
Solidarity, brothers and sisters!
I wouldn't recommend animal sacrifice. Is so messy, can get loud. I'm going to chill and listen to the soundtrack.

maybe the demo? since we couldn't save in the demo and i never deleted the demo maybe it still thinks im playing the demo when the game tries to auto save? I dunno just trying to throw some questions out there.

But I'll uninstall the demo and see.
*EDIT* I see the post above mine already clears this up*
I had previously been importing a gamesave from Origins, a non-finished game, so in my most recent attempt at DA2, i tried running one of its pre-set storylines, and still no change. Importing a gamesave is not interfering with the saving.
Can't play at the moment, but later I'm also gonna try to play while the upload progress/character to the internet is disabled.
