I sent a request to Bioware, dont think it'll help much they are most likely swamped with bugs and glitches like this.

I am also having the same issues. I just submitted an official help ticket so they are notified with all my system specs. The game is not worth playing until this is resolved. There is no sense playing a persistent RPG if you can't save your hours of work. This is truly a disgrace from BioWare. Completely unacceptable. Not to mention the fact they are trying to sell us DLC on launch. Absurd. Fix the game before trying to take more money pls and ty.

Alright, I installed the game on my laptop. Works fine with dlc/sound/movies/import game etc. No save problem. I'm now thinking it might be a problem with language version. Has anybody experienced the problem on a non-English version?

I have been playing the game now for a few hours with no problems. Here what i did to be able to play...disabled the autosave and that is it. You can play the game until they come up with a patch to fix this damn thing. just play on the easiest setting and DON'T EVER SAVE IT. You shouldn't die. I haven't yet. Just give that a try and see if i am right.

P.S. By the way I am now a lvl 9 Mage :D

That's what I've been doing too but I do think I'll change to the easiest setting . I don't know why I didn't think of that before . Of course when they put out a fix I'll probable start again on a harder setting , it's just more fun that way . Thanks for the suggestion btw .

A nice suggestion I just can't bring myself to do it. Its just the kind of game you need to save in i think not for combat reasons really. Also what if you run into another problem or it crashes x_x? Just not worth the risk imo but I do hope you are enjoying the game.

IMPORTANT FOR TECH SUPPORT:

Game works fine on my laptop while bugging out on my main comp so its not a problem with:
1) DLC
2) accounts - using exactly the same account and have DLC etc. appearing
3) importing a DA save game

It looks like a hardware problem, which is weird because users with all types of cards, procs and systems are experiencing it.

I'm using an English version on my laptop (Windows 7, dual core, 4 gbs, Radeon) and non-English on the main comp (XP, single core, Radeon, don't ask why, legacy).

Oh and I absolutely hate having to go through that first battle time and time again when starting a new game (for test purposes).
Important for gamers :)

Luckily when this gets sorted out I can just copy the save games. I already had a save game dance transferring DA content.

As for playing the game without saving - I hope you all have uber stable systems, UPS devices and your kids/spouses don't quit the game. You've got dozens of hours of gaming ahead of you. I would probably not play the game at all just in case a random crash or a boss encounter put me back those dozens of hours. Considering how graphic heavy the game is, a random crash is probably a certainty down the line.

If you do want to play the game and can't get past a load screen, whack esc, CTRL-TAB, start etc. until you get back onto the desktop, then go back to the game, it WILL probably progress.

Installed the game on another computer, and it worked fine. Also, managed to get to Kirkwall and did a number of quests, but I am completely unable to save (and I didn't disable the Autosave). The save symbol does not disappear from my screen.
Broken Computer Specs:
-Windows XP
-Nvidia GeForce 8600GT
-Latest Drivers
-DirectX 9
-3GB Ram, ACPI Uniprocessor 3.2GHZ (multithreads 3.19)

Working Computer Specs:
-Windows XP
-Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
-Latest Drivers installed
-DirectX 9
--3.5GB RAM, Multicore Processor 3Ghz

So right now, can only play it on one PC out of the three in the home (can't install it on the third one, broken CD drive)

I'd install and play the game on my laptop too if it didn't fry in the last couple weeks, because the laptop is a multicore.  Both the loading screen issue and the save feature issue croak the game due to the fact that those of us having problems are using a single core.

The fix better come out soon, ... Every day makes Bioware look worse and worse.

While most of the people affected have single-cores, plenty of people have come forward saying they have this same problem with multi-core processor. I don't think the problem is limited to single-cores, though it would appear what ever is causing this seems to be more prone to happen on single-cores.

I wish an update would come out, so we can get some visual confirmation that this issue is being worked out (I know it most likely is, but would still like some Bioware confirmation), even if a Bioware employee posts saying, "We don't know yet".

mine is intel i7 870 CPU
It is supposed to be quad core.
But I have the same problem.

Is it possible that a multicore CPU only runs a single core due to some reasons?
How to check this?

This is the last time I'll write this because I'm irritated even having to do so again.

There are many people with multicore procs having this problem, which logically means it can't be a proc problem.

I fear that BioWare is also being sidetracked by single-core comments.
