I'm having some trouble with the game, in that I started as a male
Warrior, and I'm (unintentionally) cheating. Every time I unequip a
shield, the Armor stat only decreases by 3, and when I re-equip it it's
increasing by the full value of the shield.
I'm running it on an Xbox 360, Standard Edition, installed on the hard drive.

It's just shields, not armor; Aveline and the PC both have this problem. I've created multiple save files, to make sure nothing corrupted, and I've started over multiple times... nothing seems to work.
If anyone could confirm that this is a known issue and a patch is coming soon, I'd be grateful; as of yet, I'm unable to play my newly purchased game as it was intended.

Yeah, that is all kinds of the wrong topic.

This is a known issue and we are looking into it.

Is there any sort of time frame we're looking at here? I don't expect it to be fixed and ready by the time I get home from work, but I'd like to know that I actually have something to look forward to with the game within a week or so.

It's been a week, and I am still unable to play the game I paid for. Any chance someone is willing to step forward and take responsibility? Perhaps even announce a fix in the works?

This has happened to me as well - but I am sure they are working on a patch right now considering how many bugs their are.

@Farbelowaverage: If you pay attention to the forums at all its obvious there working on a patch. Once its 'done' it still has to go through Microsoft channels before it gets onto live and that'll take a week-ish. Patchs take time but if we're lucky im hoping theres something at the end of the month.
Not sure what kinda responsibility taking your expecting, its a game, it has bugs, they get patched. Welcome to gaming.
-edit-
Also not sure if this'll help but, I think it maybe a display bug. Armor is supposed to be capped at 80%, and defense I...think isn't. Either way the 'display' shows armor going up to 100% (tested this bug with aveline) and she was still taking lots of damage from normal mooks like usual.
Just a guess but all that armor your seeing from the glitch may just be in the display and not actually calculated in combat. That or its capped at 80% and the display isn't showing it, they may accidently have Defense and Armor swapped on that or something.

@Adhin: Nothing is obvious without evidence. For all we know, they could just be copying and pasting "This is a known issue," into each thread while working on product testing for Mass Effect 3. They could offer a deadline for their end of the production, but won't. They could have a team of the testing and support group come forth as saying they are working on it, but won't. Hell, they could even offer refunds to the people who purchased their broken product, but won't.
Even in this thread, we have Will Kuhn (Quality Assurance Analyst) giving the company line of "We are looking into it." Now, this is technically a self-help section, but why are we here? Because there is no section of the forums for contact with the actual support team. The only support branch you can contact from here is EA's chat line, who are not only uninformed as to BioWare's supposed progress, they are given a form script to blame hardware issues when none are present.
These practices are irresponsible from a business perspective, and your defense of them is irresponsible as a consumer.
As for being a display issue, it clearly isn't. I had considered that, and tested it by entering a fight and walking away from the controls. When the enemy is dealing physical damage, my main character takes none, thanks to the glitch. So, in response, I am sure that it will not help.

No it would be irresponsible for them to not release a patch at all, and some company's do that just leave get it out and ignore it. Bioware has never done that before, they do prioritize based off how game breaking a bug is and will sometimes leave bugs in as long as it something you have to go out of your way to do and doesn't stop the game from functioning. Such as infinite Paragon/Renegade point glitchs in ME1. It didn't heavily impact the game in anyway so they let it be.
As for 'evidence' im not just blindly defending them. I'm going off a solid 10+ year history of how they handle post-game launch and the fact there's a ton of stickied threads specifically there to gather glitch information for them to fix.
The 'this is a known issue' and 'we are looking into it' are lines they say because it maybe an issue they can't fix entirely or are unsure exactly which way they're resolve it. Sometimes it means work around that lead to another bug that's less of an issue and live-able with like the infinite alignment bug I mentioned earlier.
And I don't think defending a good track record and obvious stickied thread information gathering for a patch makes me a bad consumer. Just means I'm not blind to the obvious.

My shield has full on disappeared. I'm in Act 3, and haven't done any primary quests. On the one hand, blocking with my forearm is kind of cool, as is not having my bulkier weapons sort of pass through it while on my back (until I've taken out my weapons and put them away) but on the other hand I know that there are issues with shields and this may be connected.

@ Adhin: I certainly hope you are correct about the response to this issue. Unfortunately from skimming through several posts it seems there are a lot of bugs to tackle. I sincerely hope this is #1 on their priority list or close to it. This is the kind of bug that should never make it past testing. Screw the ****ing about no auto-attack. That bothers me too but it is not game breaking, i hope that is not what is holding this patch back.

Yeah, I'm also kinda surpised the near 100% 'everyones getting it' bug with Merrill exists in A3. It's mind boggling how something that obvious could make it through QA and never get fixed. I'd say infinite armor is a bug they'd want to fix. Its a glitch you do just by updating your equipment, not something you have to go out of your way to exploit.
So heres hoping.
