Until ATI/Nvidia release drivers this month (or next), you'll need to download the latest BETA drivers from your respective companies to get decent DX11 performance in DA2.

Sticky please? Bump this thread if it helps you until it's stickied!

I'm told this is ATI: http://support.amd.c...rlypreview.aspx

(I can personally guarantee that the nVidia beta drivers improve performance on my 470, and I can run the game with everything completely maxed out with playable framerates. At least during the introduction sequences.)

Mr. Priestly, who is currently sleeping, does all the sticky-ing. We have let him know to look in to this thread though. You should however link the the newest ATI drivers as well as both of them need to be updated to the absolute newest versions (beta even) to utilize DX11 properly in Dragon Age II.

There are not any beta drivers at the moment just the latest.

I am not sure ATi guys are having the same issues that nVidia are.

The beta drivers from nVidia do absolutely nothing to fix the dx11 problems with this game. It is exactly as it was during the demo, maybe 1 fps every minute, then smooth for a few seconds then a hiccup again, continuously. Windows 7 64, e8400 core2duo, gtx 260, 4gb ddr2 1066. Just a heads up as I'm sure you are all aware but 267.24 drivers do zilch.

Beta 267.31 Forceware (GTX 580 Only)
http://www.nvidia.co...eta-driver.html

Running these personally for SLI GTX 580s, and I went from 13 FPS in combat, with textures popping in and out (black), to 45~200 FPS, even on the low end the game is massively playable now.

Settings:
Res: 1920 x 1080
Renderer: Dx11
Graphics: Very High
AA: 4x
AF: 16x

SSAO: On
DDoF: On
HQ Motion Blur: On
HQ Texture: On

These are the same beta drivers for 267.24 except tweaked for the GTX 580s.

@Everest, you are seriously telling me you are running DirectX11 on a GTX 260? Your card should be playing this game on medium settings probably at the most. Not saying Medium is low quality at all.

Everestman Is right. This does nothing for Nvidia users. Nvidia users btw, are not having gameplay issues, we cannot launch the game past launcher at all.

i should mention the nvidia beta's didnt seem to help much..i get 25ish fps with everything max'd with them (i7, gtx470, 6gb ram) which considering my specs should be higher.

FearCain, you're kidding right? This game isn't at all labor intensive. The dx11 renderer also does dx10, which my card supports, and if I can run Crysis 2 on hardcore and Metro 2033 on very high at 1650x1080 and clip about 50 fps then this game should be a cake walk. Especially given that my 260 runs at 720/1512/1296.

The Nvidia beta driver helped me from going to 8 fps to 21 (with everything maxed) on my GTX 580 1.5 gig memory card. While it still subpar, it is better than before :/ This need to be fixed as soon as possible :(

The NVIDIA Beta drivers fixed it for me. All graphics set to max. It's a tad choppy when using the keyboard to move, but otherwise works great when using the mouse.

Geforce GTS 450 on 1680 x 1050 resolution. Windows 7 32 bit.

Those ATI beta drivers totally killed my FPS. Went from 60 at Very High with the 11.2 drivers, to hovering around 15fps with the same settings using 11.4.

My problem still persists with the shadows on the upper left hand side during combat! I am running 2 580gtx in SLI with the new beta drivers. My info is as follows

Win 7 64bit
CPU i7 950
ram 6gb corsair dominator

Settings:
Res: 1920 x 1080
Renderer: Dx11
Graphics: Very High
AA: 8x
AF: 16x

SSAO: On
DDoF: On
HQ Motion Blur: On
HQ Texture: On

My fps with these settings are between 37 and 45 in combat and aside from the shadow issue I see no other issues. The sli brought my fps up from 18 so that's working right but the shadows is a pain in the butt! Please some one fix this I will send in my dxdiag if you guys need it!

Edit: I also installed the high res texture pack from Bioware and the game is running through steam if that has anything to do with it :?

For the record, I had all of the issues that are popping up here: huge lag and texture pop in.  I have an nVidia 460 and the 267.24 drivers fixed all of the problems.

http://www.nvidia.co...eta-driver.html

I also was unable to install DLC (prince/emporium/textures) with the "DA2 is not installed" error.  That was fixed by running the installers with the launcher running.  They gave a "DA2 is running" error and would not install. Then, shut down the launcher and they installed without a hitch.  (I'm assuming that the check for running components registered something with the system and allowed the install check to validate.)

These worked for me, and now my game is running great., YMMV.

The servers were down a few hours ago to, so you shouldn't have any more problems.

I don't know about FPS but the Beta Nvidia drivers sure fixed the video distortion I was getting on the ground surface... Also the game seems to be running perfectly fine now for me at least.

I have a EVGA 570 and I have the same unplayable/black spots other have reported

Bioware: instaling Beta drivers is NEVER the way to fix an issue. having them run this game well might work but it could cause other issues. I hope your working to correct this issue from your side also.

I found that if I turned down my graphics from Very Hight to Hight things ran better..

Same terrible performance with a gtx 480...the BETA drivers did nothing.
