I just started playing DA2. And the first thing I noticed is that Bethany doesn't look that good. I don't know if it is the new-model or if it is because of my Hawke. I picked the default Hawke without the nutella. And what is that on his face? Is it actually nutella?

She also looks darken than the one in the demo. is it also because of the skin of the default male Hawke?

If you took the default Hawke, she shouldn't be different from the demo.
Which preset you used as a base effects how your siblings look.

Actually I think it's the skin tone.

Yeah. In the demo she has a lighter skin color.

the "nutella" as you call it is a bloodsmear. in one of the commercials he drags a finger across his nose and leaves it there

From what I understand and my experience, several things can affect your family's appearance - hair styles, facial features, skin tone, etc. I finally got a FemHawke I liked but my family suffered. I guess she got all the "good-looks" genes, lol.

I actually dont think she looks bad EXCEPT THOSE HANDS my god, her hands look like a 90 year olds, incredibly wrinkly and bony.

I noticed them too, had to double take on that. The heck is up with that? Lol.

Oh yeah, this is my one complaint with the game. I made my perfect Hawke, I just love the way she looks. But Bethany.. Uuuuugly. I mean I'm not even gonna be sorry when she leaves the party. The way she looks from the preset I choose made her look horrible. I mean I love the character but Carver looked better then her.

The only thing I found wrong was the eye shadow on her. I'm wondering what the other presets look like for her. Though Carver looked good.

THIS!  What the hell is up with her hands?  I didn't notice until last night when she was holding something.  It was like her lady-fingers had been swapped a Darkspawn's!  Really creepy!  I thought it was a trick of the light in the Uncle's hovel until it happened again outside in daylight.

Quick question - how do you guys have your family change according to Hawke's appearance? I went to the Black Imporium, changed appearance of my femHawke (she is strawberry blond now, with green eyes and tanned skin), however Carver and mother Hawke stayed exactly the same.

It only works at the beginning. The mirror at the Imporium is Kirkwall's equivalent of plastic surgery. 

Also, my Hawke has a very attractive sister.
