After fiddling around, I can get it in full screen if i select Dx9 but it won't full screen if I select Dx11. Is Dx11 support still that bad for this game or is this a driver issue.

I downloaded the Beta Nvidia driver prior to install and it still didn't fix my issue. The game plays fine in Dx9, and it should since its way beyond medium standards.

I have a 470GTX - i5 760 Pentium (3.4 ghz O.C.) - 4 gig Ram (2133) - Win7 32Bit. I'm playing on a Panasonic LED TV. All my other games play fine at 1920x1080 (1080p Resolution)

Any help would be appreciated.

I got this from STEAM by the way.

Also to add, 720p resolution does not work for me either in full screen with Dx11 enabled. (1280x720)
Turned off VSync and On like a suggestion read and didn't change anything for me. Its almost like my graphics card turns off cause my TV doesn't see my computer anymore cause the input notifier and no image message shows up. Mind you I run my desktop in 1920x1080 and my graphics card is not OC'd.

It seems after more playing around that all 16:9 resolutions in Dx11 will only play in windowed mode. 16:10 resolutions work fine. My TV's native resolution is 16:9 though so I would appreciate some kind of answer / fix / or suggestion.

Try going into the in-game visual settings and selecting select the "full screen" option (or deselect it and reselect it). It works fine for me now. (This seems to be an odd occurrence with a lot of games when run in DX10 or 11, they default to window at first.)

If it was this simple of a fix I would do it. Not saying it didn't work for you but it doesn't work. It seems all 16:9 resolutions in DX11 do not work for me and others on this board. There had been no reason for it nor any suggestion as to why. Just trying to find those that have it working and what they might have done to get it to work.

Up up up. Come on Bioware. One of you can say something about this to us. This problem was in your demo too!

Could you try changing the setting from the configuration tool to see if it works that way?

Close the game, then from the launcher window, hit the 'Configure' button. It should open the 'Dragon Age II Configuration Utility'. In there you can go to your video options make the changes you want, save them and then re-launch the game.

It could be that your card is not happy making the switch while the game is running and the setting is just not sticking properly. Doing it this from outside the game may get around that issue.

I am running Win 7 64bit, on an Intel i5 760 @2.8GHz, 4 GB ram, nvidia gtx 460 768MB with the latest beta drivers. I can run DA2 on High at 1920 x 1080 in full screen, but if I scroll my mouse wheel the game "pops" into windowed mode. Sometimes minimizing and bringing it back up restores it to full screen and sometimes not. I have tried the configuration utility and in-game options.

Thanks for an offical answer.

I have tried both ways multiple times. It will not 'stick' if i'm outside in the configure tool or inside the game. It seems to be a problem for me and others with all 16:9 resolutions. I can play the game in full screen with any of the 16:10 options but not the 16:9 options.

There is no problem with Dx9 though for this resolution as I can only speak for myself, have isolated it to a Dx11 issue with fullscreen.

I'd throw up my DxDiag but I don't think that would help here as it pertains to many others with the same issue.

Nope, that was one of the numerous things tried to get it to work.  So far only switching it to DX9 get it to go full screen.  It's almost like the game is including the frame around the game as part of the screen space.

I myself can get the game to load in full screen using dx11 at 19by10 but then everything is skewed from where it actually shows on the screen.  So in order to use any of the menu items at the first screen i have to move my mouse to the far right bottom corner and i can see some things highlighted and other things (like the OK button for accepting any menu changes like say...video options) are totally inaccessible.
Bioware did you just decide not to do any beta testing?  I find it impossible to believe that you tested and nobody had any dx11 issues given the plethora of issues experience on launch day by people simply trying to load the game.

So. I might have stumbled onto something.

I don't play on a monitor, I have a 37" 1080P LED Panasonic I use as a monitor for my PC. (Also my PS3 and 360 are hooked up to it)

The resolution I use on my desktop was 1920x1080 at 30hz (Refresh Rate of 30)

Whenever I could get the full screen to stick, the TV would give me the No Signal graphic and give me the autotimer to auto shut off thats built in.

So I was thinking maybe the 1920 the game is trying to send isn't something my TV can read. So i went into my Nvidia panel and went to resolution and changed my TV to 1920x1080 at 60hz instead of 30hz.

Opened the game up through the config tool setting it up to fullscreen and Bam. Now its Fullscreen.

Quit out, retried it. Still worked. I don't know if this will fix anyone else's problem but it fixed mine. I would be curious to see what everyone is running there 1920x1050 at refresh wise.

I've noticed this. When your in game and you click the full screen option and it says Keep Settings. You click it. Then go back to your options, is the full screen thing still checked. I had to repeat this process 5 times until it would finally say it was full screen. (Though it wasn't) I changed my resolution to 1280x720 and I just got a black screen and had to alt+f4. Does it do this for you too?

yep it's still checked... the screen never really goes black... it flashes a few times then goes into windowed mode.

Went to windowed the first time for me too. I exited out, ran the config thing again -> re checked the box -> save -> started game again and it was fine.

Do any of you folks have fonts scaled? If so, try reducing it to 125% (Medium) or turn it off altogether if that doesn't work. I ran into a somewhat different issue with fullscreen where that fixed it. Mostly it was a matter of not being able to get the menus to work, seemingly because it can't figure out where cursor is in relation to the menu items, but while fiddling around trying to fix it, it did suddenly drop to windowed mode a couple times, so I figure it might at least be worth a shot.

Thank you for posting this. I was going crazy, and shutting off TeamViewer is exactly what fixed it. I would never have thought of it.
