After installing, I ran the launcher then pressed 'play' but loader crashed as it took me to the configuration screen. I tried bypassing it by going into the bin_ship file and launching the DragonAge2 file. After hitting the DragonAge2 button it took me to the Release date checker screen and I got passed that; however when the next screen hit I received a "the application will not run on a Windows guest account or an
account with insufficient privileges" message. I am running currently as the administrator because I am the sole account on the hard drive. What is the problem?

I also have this issue even though my windows account is an administrator.
Here is my system information:
Win7 Home Premium K 64bit (SP1 installed)
i7 860 2.8GHz
Geforce GTX275 (Version: 8.17.12.6658)
4GB RAM
C drive: SSD 80GB (Windows installed)
D drive: HDD 250GB (EADM & DA2 installed)
This is very strange since ME2 is working well, but only DA2 fails to run with the error message "This application is unable to run on a windows guest account or an account with insufficient privileges".
Does anyone solve this issue?

Did you try right clicking, and running as administrator? I had these issues with another game, at one point, but creating another user account fixed it.. so I'm not sure, aside from that. =(

Right-click your .exe file, select Properties, and check the box to run program as administrator...if that doesn't work, which (given the problems with x64 users) may not, it's probably 100% a compatibility issue between DA2 and Vista64....hopefully Bioware drops a hot fix on these issues fast.

Yes, I already tried running as administrator on DragonAge2Launcher.exe and DragonAge2.exe in ...\\bin_ship folder. Unfortunately, it's still not working.
Thanks for your solution, anyway.

Everyone having this issue do you happen to have SP1 installed? I uninstalled SP 1 to get comrade to work trying to reinstall it now to see if the net framework updates may be the issue

Same problem, and I do have Win7 SP1 installed as well. Demo worked just fine, but reinstalling didn't help either.

I tried doing everything above. I also went in and created a guest account and another admin account. Didn't work either. I tried running it from the other admin account as well with the same error. Other attempts; installing on a secondary drive, running in compatibility mode, hitting keyboard with my forehead....This is...frustrating

Yeah, same issue here. The demo ran fine after I bypassed the configuration utility, but I'm getting the same error as everyone here. Vista 64-bit, no service packs.

I'm also running on a standard account have not had this problem. Figured I'd post since maybe we can at least narrow down who's having trouble.
I have Win7 SP1. I entered the admin password and gave admin permissions to any DA2-related program that asked for it, which I believe both the installation and the release date check needed.
I'd note I bought from/installed from Impulse. Are you all using the disc version?

I got mine from EA using EADM. I was never asked for an admin password. Probably because my account is already an admin.
