Well, upon reinstall I was finally able to get around the Release Date Check and activate the game by using my computer's Admin account. Unfortunately the in-game login problems I experienced for the demo is still present in the final version. Hope a fix is coming for that because I experienced a BSOD shortly after both times I switched back and forth from my admin account and my main account and i don't want to make it a regular thing.

BladeRaiden: I was exactly the same as you before I did the release date check using the admin account. So try that.

Hey guys, to get the Loading Bar of the "Release Date Checker" working, you should do 2 things:
1. stop your Firewalls, which means the onboard Firewall from windows and the other ones, you may have installed
2. run Dragon Age 2 as "Administrator", by right-clicking the DA2-Icon und select "run as administrator".

But i still get the message, that the game will available at Marc 10th, 0:00 :( Hope my hints will help you guys, here in germany we will have to wait till 0:00 i fear, while some guys in various forums are playing the game for some hours now- greetings from germany!

ps: sorry 4 my bad english ;)

Having the same issue. I know mine is not unlocked yet but with this issue I preemptively checked the forums. I am beyond pissed off that I pay for this game in Dec PreOrder then the day comes around and I can't even play it!??!?! that's INSANE... Pirates have been playing this game for 3 days already and I'm going to have to take my time and contact SecuRom support???

Ffs... own most bioware games ever made and this is my reward.

From what I've seen this isn't so much an issue with unlocking the game, but rather a failure on the part of the securom activator. I'm waiting on a follow up reply from them and I recommend that anyone with a similar issue contact their support.

Well, Securom got back to me, and appearantly they need to " consult our developers to offer a solution." Whatever that means.

Did that and turned off antivirus. Tried setting admin priviledges...none of it worked for a lot of us.

I live in Hungary and it says i can play this till 2011.03.11 00:00. And I am just WTF?! Seriously? The why do they sell it then on wednesday if you can play it only on friday? Seriously?!
..... Bravo Bioware! With Securom you are only messing with yor buyers, not with the downloaders..

Ok.. after all this rant. Guys, positive thinking!

I'm quite sure Bioware acknowledged the fact that the launch has been a fcuk up for them, so maybeeee.. we will actually get a compensation, say.. free DLC for us all? :)

Because it is indeed a violation - they sell a pre-order for 8 March and then won't let you play untill 11.

We should get something in return, if not - it's a serious blow to EA PR.

Obviously most of you have not understood the release date information. The fact that you have received the game either electronically or on a disk, doesn't get passed the actual release for the game. This for Europe is the 11th March 2011. Securom date checker will not let you into the game until this time check has been passed. I guess receiving the game early gived us the chance to install downloadable content and whatnot....I have everything that was awarded with the Sig Edition installed plus all the other stuff (Fadeshear, Lion of Orlais, staff etc,etc included under my registered game content). So I guess its now a wait till 00:01 on the 11 March to start playing the game.

Hey guys, so no response from EA today (way past 24h mark...) but i heard back from securom and they just asked me to do a screen capture because they couldn't determine that anything was wrong with the securom application... SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!

Thanks for the info, everyone, and I'm sorry for the frustration. I'm going to lock down this thread, however, and shift all discussion over to a central sticky where we can more easily track it - http://social.biowar...0/index/6442590

Also, release control should now be lifted in Germany & Western Europe. UK and Eastern Europe are scheduled to lift tomorrow. Rolling regional releases like this are fairly standard practice. They allow us to load balance more effectively so that our servers don't all get slammed at once and it also allows us & first-party to catch and correct certain server-side issues before they're too widespread. We try to work with retailers to prevent customers from purchasing the game prior to the unlock date but, unfortunately, some of them choose to break those dates.
