Wait which game are we talking about?
Grumble, grumble. Gonna go back and play Planescape and check out that hot Annah since they don't have any babes in DA2.
Sarcasm.

Please don't compare this to planescape perhaps one of the best rpg's ever made...it's not even in the same world.
Quoting a friend since he said it well:
Despite the juvenile story, cliche characters, cookie-cutting fantasy lore (all of which were in DA:O) and clunky combat (which has worsened to something which looks like a game by KOEI) I had an enjoyable first hour of gameplay. Everything has simplified, up to the point where I'd just select random skills for my party characters as I don't think I'll have to switch between them to win battles.
It's sad really, that this 30-hour (wow Rolling Eyes) clichéfest is the best modern RPG's have to offer. But until the Witcher 2 pops out it's probably the only thing around...

Firstly, why are there some bum boys who say anyone with an opinion differing from there own has a pirated game. Online preordering can normally get you the game a couple of days early.
Now onto this game, which taints the Dragon Age name.
Menus: In the first game they were great, they were in keeping with the game a medieval-esque game with swords and shields. They looked like an unfolded scroll, they were simple and they were easy on the eye. In DA2 however, it looks like the game developer spilt some Lucozade on his sketch just before going into a meeting, I mean why is it all bright orange, it nas no relation to the game. instead, the orange menus are just taken straight from Mass Effect 2.
Loot/speech boxes: Again these are in a hideous orange rectangle above bodies/people. Why? The first game again was much more in keeping. In the last game is there was a sparkle there was loot, in this game theres the sparkle and a massive orange rectangle, hideous.
Skill/Talent Trees: Hideous, they just look like a jumbled mess, the first game again was so much better. The first game just had a nice list that was pleasing on the eye and also was much more understandable.
Graphics: The characters look exactly the same, whilst some areas look better/some worse than in The first.
This game is also much shorther than the first, has thousands less spoken dialogue even though the main character wasn't voiced in the first game. Has options missing that not only made the first game great such as auto attack but were on numerous occasions said to be in. The main character now has a voice which some people will like and others will hate. I personally hate his voice and therefore I feel no connection to the character Im playing.
Why is The Stig from Top Gear so loved. Because hes inanimate, he never speaks, he is what your imagination wants him to be. Whilst Hawke sounds like the X Factor voice over man therefore I create a hate for Hawke.
Also, the bioware bum boys who use reviews to back themselves up. Reviews will always be biased towards favourable, because all review sites rely on money from the people making games. Who pays for the game adverts in their magazine or their website, publishers. The last time an honest review was made saw Gamespot fire a guy for giving an honest review.

What has happened to BioWare? I recently played pirated copy and upon doing so, I was most discouraged. I was unable to keep up with the speed of the combat which indubitably means that it has been dumbed down (have to insert key phrases). Furthermore, while I have no experience in game production myself, my 30+ years of gaming have made me an obvious expert at making successful games and it is quite obvious that this will not be a successful game. Not that it should be mind you as high sales numbers invariably mean that the game has been made for the lowest common denominator (remember key phrases) and would not be worthy of my time.
In summation, I believe that this game is utter garbage based on my playthrough. My palette will only be reserved for the truly mature fare, such as the Witcher. In the mean time, I will make the entirely reasonable request of having BioWare refund my pre-order forthwith. What's that? They aren't selling me the game? Oh you poor simpleton! When we intellectuals make our demands, we get them without question!
Sincerely,

That's why I'm supporting the devs; for all the improvements they've made.
What improvements?
All I see are cut or reduced features. I don't think removing features from a game is improving it.

honestly...not sure... prob due to being mad and feeling let down. I know how the industry works paper pushers on top see the dollar symbols rising and thats how great franchises go bust.
See fallout 1+2 vs the new ones
And once again dont mention planescape one of the best rpg's ever made....first of all it didnt have the juvenille story that was both in DA and DA2.

So, in summary you are insulting every gamer at age 30+? Wow, how mature. Grow up!
And what is the puropse of a demo? To DEMOnstrate the game so that people can decide whether to buy it or not?

Really I do it all the time. I tell them it's a buggy piece of crap and to send it back where it came from. If they argue I just threaten then with bad publicity and point out how much more than £20 that will cost them.

All those pre-order incentives make sense now eh ?
I don't understand you, BobSmith101. The OP and people like him who sign up just to complain are just letting off steam. It's annoying, particularly when most people complaining are PC elitists who think that their enjoyment of Origins makes them sound smart, but whatever. But you've been on this board complaining about the game for weeks. If I assumed I wasn't going to like a game that wasn't released yet, the last thing I would do is participate in an extended online discussion of said game. What's the point? Don't you have anything better to do?

Lol. If you think the post is about insulting 30 year olds (I'm 28, so I'll be joining those ranks soon) then you're an idiot.
I'm insulting the pc elitist. I know, satire probably isn't your thing. Particularly when you're in the ranks being mocked.

I've been here since the demo was released and constantly been told it will all be fixed in the main game. Clearly not the case.
I had every intention of buying the game at first, that slipped the more I got to know about it. Now I'm just going to rent it.
Your obviously missing the bigger picture , but whatever I really don't care about your opinion anyway. I'm still fuming at being misled by the developers, don't like , tough luck.

Where the hell are my options?? Why force me? Why can't I play the game like so many great bioware games before this huge step backwards????
And yeah you are damm right im mad... One of the last great developers of CRPG's has gone downhill and started producing adominations like this.....

Yes, but this isn't Hardball with Chris Matthews, it's an online forum for a video game company. I wasn't talking about people who have legitimate concerns about the game; that's fine. Even though I'm going to get the game and probably like it, I'm not 100% happy with the direction Bioware went either, and I'm happy to discuss this. But I've noticed him on here criticizing EVERY ASPECT of the game, on multiple threads, for a long time now. I'm just wondering what kind of person stays on an internet gaming forum for weeks doing nothing but complaining and taking snide potshots at the developers.
