from my experience of the demo, DA2 can be played in exactly the same pause-and-issue-commands tactical way as DA:O and other predecessors. I really don't understand all this nerd rage.

No it can't they screwed up auto attack, now it's button mashing until they fix it.

Hi. Long term customer here. All the way from BG / KoTOR / whatnot. I support the changes.

You know why? Because this isn't BG or KoTOR. If I'd want to play those games, I'd go and play those games again. I still do sometimes.

And honestly I don't belive the devs really think taking options away is a good thing.... I blame EA and how their business model kills franchises

okay, first of all, what do you see as "all their long term customers"? Is there a club you have to join? From what i've seen, there are 20-30 people here on the Forum who don't like the changes. On the other hand you have 20-30 people who do like it. So the way i see it, it's just personal preference. Some people like the changes, others don't. But instead of just saying "i don't like it" and leave it at that, you have to call the changes dumbing down. Accuse people who like it of being "fanboys" and console kiddies.

Second: yes, ea is the devil and responsible for all that is bad in the world. Valid point -_-

Love how the people who play the Bioware games on consoles are called kids and pc gamers are true hard fans.

Gotta love the bias and elitism feeling.

It's always funny to see some "veteran adults" PC players crying like kids because of few things they disagree with.Nice to see the irony that those who trust Bioware do not seem to be, at least for a majority,"longtime consumers".

Have you even played the game or just the demo and are crying about things you've read. You can change your party member's weapons.

It's a well known fact that senior citizens are adverse to change. You're a victim of your advanced age, probably. Don't worry, it's not your fault.

Yes you can to a certain extend....but you cant for instance give a dagger user duel swords.

i started buying Bioware games starting at NWN. Does that make me a long term customer? Does it make my opinion less valid than yours?

Dumbing down is your opinion. You don't like it, and instead of just saying that, you call it dumbing down, implying that you are better than all those who do like it.
You can equip Weapons, just the weapon style and armor is locked. And imo that's an improvement. Your Companions are their own person, they have their own opinions. And that is making it harder. You can't create the characters you need, you have to make do with the Companions you have. If you want a Healer-Mage in your Party, you have to take Anders. And so on.
Again, you don't like it, that's fine. I do like it, that's just as good. It doesn't mean it's dumbed down.

You could only give dagger users dual swords in DA:O at higher levels, not at the beginning of the game. And you may be able to do the same here. If you can't, who cares, they've revamped daggers to be hell of a lot better than they were in Origins anyway.

Fair enough you like it, and i dont. But why not give us both options??? I had options in NWN, BG, FO1+2  why do you have to take options away???

They could of made a simple mode and a classic mode for instance....Do you really think having options is bad??

ah! You're making sense now, accepting that it is possible that some people DO like the game. Rant over? Then let's have a mature discussion...
