At the time, I suspected the above supposition to be in error. It never happened to me, although I have dual core CPUs. I wonder what other archives, of a more recent nature, might show?Seven months ago, CerealWar wrote...
People with single core processors (like myself D:) haven't been able to save. It's stuck in a loop,so if you try to save manually, you'll have the save icon stuck on the right side of your screen. And if you try to save automatically, you won't make it past the second cinematic. There's another thread around here that can explain it better. The minimum requirements of DA2 do state that you need a dual core processor atleast. Of course my excuse can be that I pre-ordered that game in October when the minimum requirements were posted in January. I don't know if Bioware would be obligated to do a hotfix or not.

OK, that was replaced by another, official thread:

That was a misstatement. The requirements are these:Kitsune_InTheDesert wrote...
Just looked at the minimum system requirements, and my pc meets them. But since I only have a single core, am I to understand that I will not be enjoying anything more than a dry run at DA2 until a patch/fix comes out?
Minimum:
OS: Windows XP 32-bit with SP3
OS: Windows Vista 32-bit with SP2
OS: Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater
RAM: 1 GB (1.5 GB Vista and Windows 7)
Video: Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB (should be 2600 XT or X1800 GTO)
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS 256 MB cards (unless this should be
Geforce 7800 GS)
Disc Drive: DVD ROM drive required
Hard Drive: 7 GB
Sound: Direct X 9.0c Compatible Sound Card Windows Experience
Index: 4.5
Laptop or mobile versions of the above supported video cards
have not had extensive testing and may have driver or other
performance issues. As such, they are not officially
supported in Dragon Age II.
That clearly says the required CPUs are dual cores.

At the time I thought I had it figured out, but the situation just seems to be getting worse. The game is pretty much unplayable. It took me 8 hours to get through MotA because I had to sit around for 5-10 minutes at a time, every time it saved, or I had to load.
I'm getting seriously frustrated.

I think you need to divorce yourself from this thread and the assorted errors within. Please start over, fill in the usual complete problem report information (as per the Sticky), and let's see if anyone can spot anything that's not right, or at least get fresh air inside a clean thread.
