It's not supported in the game. But you can get a button mapping program like Xpadder and try to play.
The problem is, the UI isn't very controller friendly. There is a button that lets you target the closest guy and attack (default is "r"), and you can also loot with that item, so that's good and you could map that to the A button on your gamepad. The camera is a little trickier to map to the right stick since you also need to be clicking the right mouse button to do that. I tried by setting one of the bumper buttons on the pad to "toggle" on a right click.
It's all pretty bush league though.

Can't they make it so you can play with a 360 gamepad on pc and the controls work just like the xbox 360 demo I tried? I imagine it wouldn't take too much work for Bioware. It seemed better suited to gamepad, plus I don't like having to put the cursor on the enemy to slash him, they way they have it is just awkward.

I also wish they had included something they already knew how to do. My most enjoyable gameplay setup doesn't even work without a gamepad. I opened a support ticket asking if they were considering an update with gamepad compatibility but I don't have much hope. maybe if enough people complain it will get fixed for the next multi-platform rpg that is put out by EA and Bioware.
