To all of the users that are trying to regester their Xbxo 360 version of Dragon Age 2, I too was having trouble at first trying to regester my game copy. But then i looked closer and noticed that there are two smaller (compared to the rest of the UPC) numbers that are also needed to successfully regester your copy of Dragon Age 2. Its kind of hard to explain so i will link a picture to do the explaining.
www.smartassgames.com/images/UPC_094922981066.jpg
Though the number appear larger in this picture it still shows what i am try to communicate. As you can tell, there are two additional numbers that i missed at first. There is one on the very far left and the very far right.  Like i said, they will show a little smaller for the actual game case. Do keep in mind that i am basing this UPC off of a copy of Dragon Age 2 Xbox 360 case and NOT PC or Playstation. I am not sure if this is the same for PC and/or Playstation, but this is the way for Xbox 360 copies of Dragon Age 2 for Xbox 360.

I hope this clears up some confusion and I hope this helped a lot of people out.

Good Luck!

I can't register any of my games (DAO/DA2) I bought myself for Christmas from PSN - digital copy. I spent 2.5 hours on phone with PSN and EA. I'm very disappointed in this verification/registration process. It takes the fun out of gaming when you spend weeks trying to get access to site online to get bonus items :(

It would be a "UPC" bar code, and you must contact EA.  You can't get your problem solved in here on any kind of normal basis.  Just as is the case across the rest of these forums, you can only reach other game players.  Very rarely are the Bioware people who can do anything with account information available here.

I'm having this problem. I got dragon age 2 from psn and no code means I can't register. But then again I had blood dragon armor in ME2 and DA:O but it won't give me it in DA2.

I just want some nice items :(

Did you ever figure this out?  Because I'm having the same problem.  I downloaded it for 360 and have not registration code.

I'm actually just going to start making threads about the game in the general discussion forums that will be FILLED with spoilers since I can't get an answer to this question. Not trying to get banned but I've waited well over a week for a response and even PM'd a GM. So, not much I can do. I'll just be sure to put SPOILERS in my thread title.

The ONLY official support for PC games is from EA, period.  The consoles are different, when you buy those & since I don't want any such, I don't know where you go with those.   All of the Social site is strictly designed as a peer to peer discussion site. That means just game players to other game players.  No such thing as a "DM/GM" here that I know of. Bioware's own oversight is intended to be minimal, and that is just what they wanted. You aren't supposed to be expecting anything else. If you can't deal with EA for PC Help, you shouldn't buy from them.

I called EA. According to them you have to contact Xbox. Then I contacted Xbox. According to them you have to contact EA. So, because I'm tired of the runaround I'm just going to post on the general forums. Thanks.

You need to use the normal Help Page links and the Game Adviser, then choose Chatline. Whoever you talked to had his / her head buried too deep up inside his / her rectum to be of any use to anyone. Only one or two much older games, perhaps KotOR, were distributed by Microsoft & then supported by them.  HOWEVER, exactly as for ANY kind of digital distribution, the seller is OBLIGATED to make sure you have what you need to register, whether it's Microsoft or anyone else at all,

Each of the Dragon Age 360 Tech Support self-help forums here clearly names EA as the official support site:

"Dragon Age: Origins Xbox 360 Technical Support. This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age: Origins on the Xbox 360 to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here. "

"Dragon Age II Xbox 360 Technical Self Help. This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age II on the Xbox 360 to assist each other with technical questions and advice. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts at the link at the bottom of the page. Fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here. "

Thanks for your help, Gorath. Hopefully EA can help me resolve this. But they really did tell me yesterday to call Xbox Live support, and then Xbox Live support told me to contact EA. The XBL rep told me that EA could provide me a registration code for a fee, which seems ridiculous to me.

At any rate, I'll get back on the phone with EA and see what they say. This seems like a lot of frustrating runaround for a registration key. I feel like something like this should have been addressed by BioWare/EA a year ago when the game was first released. Like, a snippet of info regarding digital sales.

It's just aggravating for something that seems so simple.

So, EA referred me back to Xbox Live. And here is how the following conversation with an Xbox Live rep went:

Camille: Hi, thanks for contacting XBox Customer Support. My name is Camille. Give me one moment while I review your question.

Camille: Chad, I'd be more than happy to help!

Camille: There is no UPC code for a Marketplace purchase whatsoever. Were you wanting to confirm the purchase?

Chad: I purchased a copy of Dragon Age 2 on Marketplace, and wanted to register the game on the BioWare site here: http://social.biowar...form&game_id=20

Chad: But in order to do that, I need to have the UPC code, and EA said that this can only be provided by Xbox support

Camille: Correct, that's to register the disc version.

Chad: Right, but I'm assuming there is a code to register digital copies as well...

Camille: No; I apologize. That is for support regarding any disc issues and title updates.

Chad: Okay, so who might I talk to in order to obtain a code. I can't imagine that a digital copy of games would be offered and there is no way to register the games on the official site

Chad: And it's not EA. I've been on the phone with them three times already.

Camille: Only disc-based games have a UPC code as that is for EA to provide support for them. For support on games downloaded from XBox Live, we can provide support if you have any questions or issues with the download.

Chad: So, there's no way to register the game on the BioWare site if you've purchased a digital copy?

Camille: Correct.
**************

100% unacceptable. Neither BioWare or EA thought about this a year ago? That you can't register digital copies on the official site???

Hi there!

I've bought a european version of Dragon age 2 for xbox 360 and I am having problems with registration aswell. Apart from everyone else though my UPC code seems to be having 13 numbers including the number before the left bar and a little > mark right after the last rightside bar. Perhaps anyone knows what to do?

Is this a website problem, am I looking at the wrong code or should I be registrating at a different website? Ive checked the entire box cover and the manual for another similiar code without succes.

Thanks in advance!

Microsoft being Microsoft, might have chosen to create its own rules. Part of the predetermined process for distributing digital versions of the game is to forward Key Code numbers to the purchaser by eMail as part of the Proof of Purchase documentation.

For the newest respondent to this, please examine the rest of this thread. We in here are your peers, just some more game players. EA isn't in here! Bioware is almost never in here, either.

I installed Dragon Age II last year on Vista and was working fine. But I recently had to re install windows due to a HDD failure. I moved to Win7. I tried installing DA2 but each time I try to activate/register my game copy it gets stuck on 'Validate' and never finishes validating. I don't know for what reason it does this and either if this 'Validation' problem is to do with registering the game. Please help in any way please.

So far, you are the only member who has actually found your way into any forum where Site Failures are on-topic. There are herds of (mostly New Arrivals) cluttering up other forums with off-topic duplicate posts about the same thing, creating difficulties for the members with valid questions that belong in those forums (one such particularly).

Someone (on Bioware's or EA's staff) somewhere changed something that shouldn't have been changed last Friday and then left it that way over the weekend. Only DA-2 is affected that I've seen feedback about, and at 1:30 PM, CSDT, on Monday, no official response has been offered anywhere that I have seen.

P. S. About 4:00 PM, CDST, without any previous acknowledgment, Francisco Melo announced on at least two of the DA 2 forums that the issue has been resolved.
