So, EA referred me back to Xbox Live. And here is how the following conversation with an Xbox Live rep went:
Camille: Hi, thanks for contacting XBox Customer Support. My name is Camille. Give me one moment while I review your question.
Camille: Chad, I'd be more than happy to help!
Camille: There is no UPC code for a Marketplace purchase whatsoever. Were you wanting to confirm the purchase?
Chad: I purchased a copy of Dragon Age 2 on Marketplace, and wanted to register the game on the BioWare site here:
http://social.biowar...form&game_id=20
Chad: But in order to do that, I need to have the UPC code, and EA said that this can only be provided by Xbox support
Camille: Correct, that's to register the disc version.
Chad: Right, but I'm assuming there is a code to register digital copies as well...
Camille: No; I apologize. That is for support regarding any disc issues and title updates.
Chad: Okay, so who might I talk to in order to obtain a code. I can't imagine that a digital copy of games would be offered and there is no way to register the games on the official site
Chad: And it's not EA. I've been on the phone with them three times already.
Camille: Only disc-based games have a UPC code as that is for EA to provide support for them. For support on games downloaded from XBox Live, we can provide support if you have any questions or issues with the download.
Chad: So, there's no way to register the game on the BioWare site if you've purchased a digital copy?
Camille: Correct.

100% unacceptable. Neither BioWare or EA thought about this a year ago? That you can't register digital copies on the official site???
