When I play on Max settings the game runs but it looks a bit blurry. Is that something to do with my monitor or my specs or is this normal?

Specs:
Windows 7
Intel core 2 Duo @ 3.00Ghz
HIS radeon HD 5770 1gb memory with DX11
4Gb RAM

When I first ran it at max settings it automatically converted it to DX9 with low quality. Do you know if the game reverted back to lower settings?

Sorry if this is a triple post, each time I post nothing is showing up. In the Video Options all my settings are the same.

I doubt you can play it with your specs at highest. You dont even have the recommended specs provided by bioware. My specs are well over it and the game is unplayable at highest,

Which of my settings don't meet the recommended? I can't tell. Like I said though, I have played on the highest settings and the game runs fine the only issue is the screen is blurry. Which if DX11 is off then its not blurry.

Honestly I think their are a few bugs with DA II/ DX11 right now. Hopefully it's not your system and Bioware just needs to come out with a quick patch for the game.

This is what I am hoping for. I ran into the same problem in the demo, but I heard it was officially supported. I guess I'll have to wait for a patch then.

I think that the blurriness is probably coming from AA, antistropic filtering or one of the other check box items (don't have it in front of me right now). Try working with those and see if the fuzziness goes away.

If you have low frame rates or textures that pop in and out (big black areas on the ground) update your graphics drivers.

Unfortunately that doesn't make the fuzzy/blurriness go away. :( I have no idea what could be causing this, my graphics card supports DX11 and have 1gb memory...

Try turning off Diffusion Depth of Field if it is enabled. Characters seemed blurry when the camera was close in on them. I turned it off and it fixed it. I'm not a fan of depth of field effects anyway.

I don't think you guys understand my problem. Everything is blurry, effects and checks or no. The main menu is blurry, the game is blurry, the entire screen is blurry. I'll see if I can get good screens to post so you can better understand the issue.

Unfortunately the screens I took don't have the blurrinees across the screen, I just throw them up anyway... In the gameplay picture I did turn on AA and antistropic on max but it had no effect other then softening the edges of characters and things.

Menu

Settings

Gameplay

Bioware social is taking a massive Sh!t right now, so if the links are broken then Im sorry.

I think the problem may be the fact that my stupid graphics card refuses to update the drivers. Pissing me off.

I had the same issues until I turned of AA (which also was causing some other graphics glitches for me)

running the latest catalyst drivers (the preview drivers from 07 march)

Regarding what doesnt meet the recommended spec, its your processor and graphic card.

The recommended is specs to be able to play the game at high settings or so, definitely not highest. Since you dont meet the requirement, nor over greatly, it would be impossible for you to play the game at highest setting without blur even if there was a problem with the game itself.

I'd have to argue with that. Now without trying to sound like some moron kid who refuses to except a fact let me try to explain what I acciedently discovered today. The problem is not the game. I have figured out that the screen blurs due to something with my grapics card. I put the settings on highest and with DX11 enabled and now the screen blurs slightly, yet enough to be noticeable. That is the problem.

Now the interesting thing is that today while I was showing my friend who came over my issue I turned on DX11 and ran the game, here is where everything changes. The game opens up in windowed mode, yet the blur is compelety gone, so I put on all the other funny check boxes and nothing hitches, no frame rate drops, nothing. I exit the game to make sure Full screen is checked in the config, it is not. I check it, open the game back up in Fullscreen and the blur is back. So I'm guessing it has something to do with fullscreen mode. What that is I don't know.

Fast recap: Fullscreen + DX11 = Blurred screen, Windowed Mode + DX11/max settings = No blur.

Also I am using the March 07 Drivers. I solved that little problem.

Complete shot in the dark but in Windows 7, go into

Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Display

That's the section where you can "make things easier to read on the screen"

Make sure it's set to 100% and not 125% or 150%

Few more things. What monitor you are driving with your 5770? What refresh rate is it at? Are you running it as a monitor or as a TV (i.e. HDMI mode)? Are you running via HDMI or DVI?

And in the DAO2 Config tool, what settings ya got there? Resolution, Aspect Ratio, any check boxes checked off

Not sure what you mean, but isn't that the way the game suppose to look?

Here is mine
img809.imageshack.us/img809/2919/dragonage22011030722044.png

Lot of time if the resolution of the game does not match your LCD display it gets blurry.  The Screenshot on its own looks fine.

The best way to post graphic issue isn't a screen shot.  Take a picture with your cellphone and post that picture.  Because that would take into consideration any display variation and mechanical failure.

I am using a Toshiba TV with a refresh rate of 60. It's using a DVI > HDMI on an HDMI input, although I could use the DVI > VGA PC supported input (this could be the problem though I haven't thought to actually test it). Resoultion is 1360x768 and the Aspectic ratio is 16:9. Even with every box unchecked and no AA and Anistropic on its still blurry.

I just don't understand why the game isn't blurry in windowed but is in full screen...
