I was able to get mine installed in just a few steps:
(I think part of it is a lot of people want everything installed before they play.)
Method 1:
- Install Dragon Age 2, obviously make sure its ready to play (not decrypt, but play.)
- Run Dragon Age 2 launcher (i.e. play DA2 from Steam.)
- When Launcher loads, go into the Config.
- Adjust all of your settings as you normally would in-game.
- After you have everything just right, go to the menu "Dragon Age II", and the sub-menu Save DA2 Settings.
- Close Config, and then re-open it, and go to the Game field.
- Under the game field, verify in the textbox below you see DA2 and a CD-Key attached to it.
- Close the Config, and the launcher.
- Attempt to install DLC + HQ Texture pack.
Method 2:
- Install Dragon Age 2, obviously make sure its ready to play (not decrypt, play.)
- Run Dragon Age 2 launcher (i.e. play DA2 from Steam.)
- When Launcher loads, go into the Game.
- Go into Options.
- Go into Video.
- Here make a couple of changes, and apply/ok them.
- Exit all the way out of the game and launcher if it repops up.
- Attempt to install the DLC or HQ pack.
Method 2 (Additional):
- If it still didn't install, load DA2, and start a new game.
- Save the game when you get a chance.
- Go to the main menu, then exit the game.
- Go back into the game one time, and load your title.
- Once the game has loaded. Quit the game.
- Attempt to install the DLC or HQ Pack.
If at any point it says you can not install the addons because Dragon Age 2 or one of its components is running, double and triple check you have exited everything out. I had this wierd glitch in which DA2 launcher was running, yet I didn't have a window for it, so I to close it via Task Manager.
I hope this helps some, and possibly help any other Digital Distributions such as EAStore or D2D.
