Sadly, I am very disappointed with what I have played so far. I am playing the PC version.

pros:
- Good graphics with the exception of alpha neck seam on the characters. I expected the head to fall off of my character sometimes. There are distinct seam on the arms, that is lower arm and hand to upper arm.
- Good voice overs for the most part
-I did like the new look for Flemeth.
-I like my character having a voice, such as it is.

cons:
- I have no connection with my character, he is simply there. In Origins the characters had personality and you got attached to them in an odd way, but it was there none the less.
- I do not like the redesign of the Elves or the Hurlocks or any of the familiar bad guys we had in Origins.
-The Dalish Elves had an Irish accent? Least that's what it sounded like to me.
-I cannot put any armor on my team members or take anything off. That was the fun part in Origins, trying different armor or not at all.
-No clothing options for the characters.
-No experience meter on your team members. I liked seeing how my team members were advancing as they went.
-The mini map really doesn't tell you anything. I'd like to turn the thing off if I could. The map in origins would tell you what a location was if you placed your cursor on it.
-While the combat is better it is way too fast, almost instant. I enjoyed the fluidity of the combat in Origins, you could see what was going on. Not in this one, it just happens.
-If there was an import of my origins game into DA II, I haven't seen anything on it yet. The only thing so far was Merril saying that the 'Hero' was part of her clan and the hero was mentioned in the Codex. When I installed this, it said my Origins game had been imported, but I sure wouldn't know it.
-Story line. Is there one? So far I have no clue what the purpose is and why we are doing it. I ran around Kirkwall and did some quests and now I'm in the Deep Roads (and can't go any further) and I have no clue why I am there.
-Not crazy about the 'Final Fantasy' look on some parts. This is Dragons Age right? I hate to make that reference, but that was my impression on some aspects like the over sized weapons and a certain Elf Warrior.

I am a middle aged player and I enjoyed Origins. I expected DA II to just as enjoyable. So far that is not the case. I'm under the distinct impression that this was a 'rushed' project and speaking for myself, I would have gladly waited for a more polished version then what I have seen so far. I myself am in graphics and know how much time it can take to make just one good texture. So I do appreciate the work of those talented people who worked on this project, but even so, something is missing here.

This is not a bad game. Nor is it a good one. Its just average. Very run of the mill committee made money maker.
The biggest mistake BIOWARE made was calling it Dragon Age 2.
Should have been called Dragon Age Episodes or Dragon Age Hawks Story or something like that.
Review scores would less inflated and user scores less harsh.
When a number 2 is whacked on the box you compare it to the first.

New Coke didnt work.
Vegemite Isnack 2.0 didnt work.
Why call it Dragon Age 2???
Maybe Diet Dragon Age??

Graphics look good but the is no atmosphere.
Combat tastes good but fills you up like fast food.
Charactors are here in the game but i feel alone.
Story is predictable. There are no REAL shocking turns.

Maybe i`m to old for games now. Maybe this is the NEW Coke. :crying:
I will play this game because it cost me money. Then it will be put on the shelf and it will be forgotten.
This not a bad game. Nor is it a good one. Just average.

I agree with you there. DA2 feels more like an expansion.

I (finally) completed my first play through of DA2 and here's what I have to say about it.
The game in general was enjoyable to play. But would I play it through again? Probably not. In comparison I would play DA:O again no questions asked. And I'll play the next DA when it's released.

The combat system. Combat was easy to get into, yet provided a challenge. Depending on how you prefer to play the game may be more or less challenging and will, of course, depend on the difficulty level you choose. But for me, I was happy about the fluidity of the system.
Graphics. Yes the game looked good. But as much as I enjoy a good looking game, I'd gladly trade it for some improvements in what I didn't like.

Items. It was a little frustrating to have 9/10's of the items I got unusable on anyone except Hawke. I understand if the game is trying to give you a lot of possibilities and options, but it would be nice to be able to equip gear on companions.

Game Length. I completed the game just shy of 15 hours. To compare, it took me 36 hours to complete Origins. I don't feel (from what I can remember) that I did any less side/optional quests in DA2 than I did in Origins, but I could be wrong. I also think that this possibly stems from the next issue and that eventually I just wanted to see how the game ended since it all felt repetitive.

Kirkwall/World/Levels/Call it what you want. To me, this games biggest negative is that it was decided to have the game take place entirely around a single city. I remember think to myself about about 5 or 6 hours, "I hope that I get out of this city soon". And soon I was in the Deep Roads and I thought "Good". But then, to my dismay, I returned to Kirkwall where I remained. Sure there are caves and mountain paths, but those can hardly be considered as separate, full zones. To me, it's as if Super Mario World only had World 1-1. Sure you have some pipes to go down with different underground worlds, but you always end up coming back to the Overworld. It feels like reading the first chapter of a book and then finding out that that was the entire book. Also, to me this seemed similiar to how Mass Effect 2 was done. I really hope that the next DA (and ME for that matter) are not like this.

Story. At first it all made sense and seemed smooth. But as I played it got more and more disjointed and eventually got to the point where I either didn't really know how it all was connected or I didn't really care. As well, the ending seemed lacking and rushed.

Overall/Final Thoughts. At the end of DA:O, I was left with a "wow" feeling. I didn't really want it to be over. Unforunately, I didn't have any of these feelings at the end of DA2. I don't really feel cheated or bad about playing it, but I think it could have been much better.

I loved Origins and couldn't have been more excited about Dragon Age 2.

I'm enjoying Dragon Age 2 but had I known it wasn't the epic rpg I expected I'd never have purchased it.

I'm much more bummed out about it than I expected to be after reading all the hate on the forums. The game had the potential to be legendary and instead its .... good. It isn't even great. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend unless they were big Halo fans that wanted to try a simple RPG.

Like:
Spell effects are pretty, especially lightning.
Qunari look awesome.
Voiced protagonist isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I still hate the dialogue wheel.
Talent tree system isn't bad. There are many more options.

Dislike:
Everything else.
Wave after wave after wave of mobs gets really annoying.
Inflated HP.
Hardly any loot.
Can't change companions' armor so you're left with a load of items you can't use.
Enemy rogues.
CC is completely ineffective.
Healing is nonexistant.
Recycled maps.
Too much combat, not enough roleplaying.
Side quests are all the same. Kill some raiders, steal something, save someone.
Antagonists are not clear. Goals are not clear.
Nightmare combat is unbalanced.
Generic UI.
And more!

I would have to say I think the game rocks, the combat is solid enough. Though I feel like I miss equipping my party the way I like them. It makes me feel like the party is kinda a premade but still its fun messing with their talents.
Over all I cant put it down lol, after one playthrew I still want to pick it back up and do a rogue.
After that though I don't know if I will play threw it again, unless there is a heafty sized DLC for it.
I guess I'll just have to see.

I have mixed feelings about this game. I prefer a more realistic approach to things, and some part of me had hoped that enemies exploding into a bloody mess was going to be something present only in the exaggerated tale. Alas. I also happened to pause it at one point after liquefying someone, and noticed that the head looked like a mannequin head. The neck was clean cut and flesh-toned on the inside. Seeing that ruined it completely.

The maps, while gorgeous, were way too overused. I have almost NO interest in replaying the game, because it feels like Mass Effect 1 in that regard.

The mini-map was terrible. I spent more time looking at the mini-map than I did the screen, and so I only really noticed my surroundings when I was fighting something.

Deep Roads and Fade were nice, which is a switch from Origins.

The "horror" moment of the game in Act 2 was VERY well done. It recaptured the moment as I was approaching the Broodmother in Origins.

Combat was underwhelming. I tried to play an offensive sword/shield warrior, but found that threat management was ridiculously difficult. Later, I found out that a tank wasn't even needed and respecced to a 2-h warrior. Felt like I was contributing more then.

Itemization was confusing. For example, I didn't know if the +5% fire damage ring meant anything to my warrior, but it was still marked as a five star item. Over all, I found most of the loot to be underwhelming. Most items I saw, none of them really stood out to me as "wow! that's a really nice item!". Some of the descriptions for effects were confusing, too. "100% damage vs enemies in melee" on a shield. No clue what effect that would have.

Combat felt entirely AOE based. Yet again, mages were the clear power houses followed by archers followed by 2h warriors.

Boss fights were pretty cool.

Money was tight the whole way through. I ended with over a 100 gold, but I wasn't sure that it was going to be the end as I got there. I also had purchased none of the rare and expensive wares.

Edit: I also wish that we could've had the option to wear armor cosmetically, similar to something that's present on LOTRO. I missed a lot of upgrades on gear simply because the gear in question looked hideous, or didn't match. That's one big pro for the companion gear. I'm a slave to aesthetics, and the companions always looked good.

Anything not mentioned, I liked it.

Review In Progress...

I haven't finished the game, however, I'm drawn/intrigued/overall enjoy at how much politics come in to play more so than the first game I believe. I'm curious as to how much the save file from the first game will affect this game, thus far only mere mentions here and there. I'm excited to near the finish and am eagerly anticipating it. On the downside, graphically speaking my untrained eye sees only a subtle improvement. Also, the caves/dungeons are all the same. No variety.

Other than that... a solid 9+ rating.

Just beat it... ending was... well... horrible.

Combat was really fun, and the sarcastic conversation option was a really good idea.

I can't say I liked much else unfortunately :*(

I've beaten the game, so here are my thoughts:

Pros:
- The streamlined combat, skill trees and overall interface is much better
- The friendship / rivalry system is a big improvement over the one dimensional approval system
- Choices felt like they mattered more in this game and throughout the game, versus DA1 where there were choices that were moral dilemmas, but there weren't consequences on the main plot
- I like the game spanning over a decade and making you feel as though you built something up

Cons:
- There were no characters on the caliber of Alistar or Morrigan. Varric was pretty well written, but other than that the cast lacked likeability
- The game is too short. And that was with doing virtually all side quests. If I had just rushed through the main plot, the game would probably have been ridiculously short
- Copy/pasted locations are a no no
- Overall level design was way too linear. In DA1 I felt some of the dungeons were a bit too sprawling and tedious, but this was on the other extreme where there was virtually no room for exploration
- The level design in general was much less inspired. The Fade part of DA1 where you have to shapeshift to animals was one of my favorite parts. There lacked any levels in DA2 with that kind of imagination. The only one that impressed me was the haunted house.

Overall: Good game, I had fun, but it lacked the epic feel of DA1 simply because it was so short and you didn't go to many places. I liked the decade span story, but it needed to be much beefier to actually feel like a decade. At the end it felt like this game was rushed to be shipped instead of giving it more development time which it needed to be truly fleshed out.

I've been following Bioware for years now. I was with an entertainment magazine back when KOTOR was in development. I convinced our team to check it out at e3. I was on the bandwagon hype for Mass Effect 1. The guys at Bioware were great. They had a quote that I'll never forget:

"We're only as good as our latest game."

I loved KOTOR. And I have really enjoyed Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. I have since left the journalism industry in pursuit of fiction writing. I enjoy writing screenplays and novels. But my love for Bioware made games never faded. And, up until now, they have never let me down. But after spending extensive time with Dragon Age 2 now...I can admit that I am disappointed.

Its not a bad game. Its also not a great one. It feels rushed. Very rough around the edges, in need of polishing, and has far too many bugs. The story is only average and feels like a prologue. In fact, the game would be better suited as an expansion. Yes, the graphics have improved, although the elves look horrible. The combat is far more fun but far from perfect. Its a start but needs more refinement.

But as I played this game...I felt myself growing bored. Limited to a single city over a 10 year period causes the game to feel redundant. It lacks variety, And the side quests are so disjointed that I don't feel like I am adventuring through a story. Rather, I feel like I am just doing a bunch of quests to get money. It lacks life. It lacks that emotional connection that sucks a person into the story. I can't immerse myself within the world of Dragon Age 2.

I like the fully voiced main character. But my conversation options with my companions are far too limiting. I like the characters in DA2, but I want to know them far better. The relationships feel like the rest of the game: rushed. The musical score is weak in comparison to Origins. And the inventory options...well, no need to even go there.

As much as I had fun in the combat I would really rather do something other then just fight, fight, fight. The game quickly loses my interest after an hour or so. I so want to love Dragon Age 2. And it is a step up from Awakening. But it is not on the same level as Origins. I enjoy the game, but it is seriously flawed and in need of ample polish.

And the lack of care given to the story disappoints me. I can overlook so many glowing flaws in light of an epic tale. I love stories. But if the story is weak, then everything else looks so much worse. The game isn't terrible. It's not bad. It's also not great nor is it 'game of the year' worthy. It's not Terminator 2 to Terminator or The Empire Strikes Back. And I guess that's why i'm so disappointed. I expect so much for you guys over there at Bioware. Heck, I thought about working for you at one time. I feel like I'm playing through the rough draft and I'm wondering who fired the editor?

This isn't meant to kick around your baby. I'm an artist too. But I hope you take all the criticism you are hearing from the community to heart. To sum it up, while I enjoy DA2 as a solid Action/RPG outing, I do not think it is worthy of the Bioware label stamped on it.

Final score: 8/10

Likes:
Hawke. The voice acting for both male and female Hawke was great. It's refreshing to see the player character capable of showing as much emotion. Although I wish this was expanded on... such as crying/screaming in anger.
The progression Hawke makes throughout the story and the effects s/he had on the city.
The companions and the stories surrounding them.
The combat system, although I don't think anyone hit hard enough... friendlies and enemies alike. Being able to step out of the way of a sword slash did wonders for me.
The game length. It took 25 hours to finish it with 29 hours recorded on steam with 3-4 quests left. Although I think most of this was because of the sheer amount of pointless side quests.
The games environment and the adult feeling to the plot.
Smooth and diverse animations.

Dislikes
Being stuck in Kirkwall. Seriously... this got old after the first 5 hours and only lead me to believe that the rest of the content was omitted due to possible DLC scams or the game being unfinished.
The ending hardly concluded anything, especially player relationships. In fact, the ending was really quite horrible. It also destroyed any further motivation for me wanting to play it... although I probably still will.
There are so many parts of the plot that I could complain about... but I can't list them here due to spoilers.
Even -some- post game content would have been nice...
Lacking romantic moments. By this I mean conversation opportunities and eventual outcomes.
Horrible romantic conclusions.
Hardly any consoling going on between the companions/players when a "rough" moment arises.
Lack of a weapon swap butten, like switching from a bow to a knife when enemies get too close.
The constant stuttering made me feel like the final version was hardly tested for bugs.
I did not like the armor upgrade system for the companions. I like to dress them up myself. (Like in the first Dragon Age and Mass Effect)
Too many dumbed down features, this especially related to the armor, as well as the lack of the ability to initiate conversations with your companions like in the first Dragon Age.
The choices you made in the first one hardly changed a thing...
I could only play as a human... I'm sick of being a human, why can't I be an elf like in the first one?
Recycled environments... this is a HUGE issue which was clearly overlooked.
Too many enemies! They literally should have been halved.

I'd give it a 6/10.

This may seem a tad harsh... but with games being as expensive as they are I expect high quality products. And with DLC being released so soon in a game which clearly lacked content outside of Kirkwall, it only leads me to believe that the game was an unfinished product. Thinking back, if I knew how I would feel about the game after completing it... I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Dragon Age II (PC) Review (Progress: Beginning of ACT II)

My feelings thus far - A Lot Of Wasted Potential

Dragon Age II has the potential of being one of the greatest game but unfortunately it falls short of greatness due to the many little things that Bioware missed. Even though Dragon Age II is far from perfect or greatness, overall it is a very good, attractive and refreshing game.

The animation, graphics and art style in Dragon Age II is a great improvement over Dragon Age Origins
.

For example:
I am very annoyed by the animations in Dragon Age Origins. Using a skill like Rally or Bard Song in Dragon Age Origins results in the exact same unattractive animation of the character sreaming off his/her lungs. In Dragon Age II, this has been improved.

Spell casting animation too has improved greatly, casting a spell like Rock Armor in Dragon Age Origin is like casting petrify on oneself but in Dragon Age II, rocks swirls from the ground and forms a protective armor around the mage - epic.

The game looks great but excessive reuse of the same area/map makes the game looks boring and limited after a while.

The user interface and user control too has been greatly improved for a better user experience
.

For example:
I no longer need to listen to the same old shopkeeper greeting when I simply wanted to trade; clicking on the merchandise bring you directly to the trade window. Minor and easily overlooked but greatly improves overall user experience. How many times do I have to listen to a merchant's greeting in Dragon Age Origins I cannot remember but I do remember it as annoying.

Picking up object and collecting loots can now be easily done by simply clicking "R" (the default). I no longer need to aim my mouse cursor at that object, no small feat because in Dragon Age Origins, sometimes clicking on an object is not as easy at it seems.

These are all minor things but they go a long way and I for one appreciate the thought and effort of the developers. Unfortunately, bad decisions like not allowing a free moving camera that makes placing AOE spells/skills very difficult, frustrating and sometimes impossible too plagues Dragon Age II.

The combat in Dragon Age II is a huge improvement over Dragon Age Origins. The difficulty Normal and Hard (Have not tried Nightmare) is very well defined. Unlike Dragon Age Origins, you are no longer being punished (as badly) for making a cunning (stat) Warrior
.

In Normal
, I do not (need to) assume direct control over my companions or pause (that often). I simply control Hawke and let my companions do their things. A great difficulty setting if you want to simply enjoy the experience. In Hard, I have to assume direct control of my companions and pause more often.

It would have been perfect if Bioware has not decided to make enemies swoop onto the battle field out of thin air. Undeads and Shades appearing from the groud is fine but enemy archers dropping out of thin air is very bad. If only they spawn enemies near doors or other entrances, the whole experience would have been great. I quote: "Swooping is bad".

I think we have to remember that DA had a gestation period of many years that dated back well before the EA takeover, whereas this title was produced entirely since then and reflects the change in approach dictated by EA's desire to be produce rapid sequels to established franchises.

It's very much an assembly-line approach to producing games which while it may still result in fun games, will mean we will see things like repeated use of the same art assets to pad out games and a tendency to replicate past successes (eg ME2) rather than innovate.

I posted my review back on page 35 or so but I just wanted to add another thing that has started to irk me since I posted that.

Does there need to be wave after wave of baddie just to make it harder or could they have done it a little differently? It gets irritating having to fight five waves of shades or skeletons, why not throw in a couple higher level baddies and keep it down to one or two waves, it gets boring and repetitive.

Played 13 hours so far, and honestly I'm really enjoying it. A lot.

Likes:
+Companions are awesome. I love Merrill, Aveline, Bethany, Anders, and Varric. Fenris cracks me up but in this run through we're just going to have to agree to disagree. He's so damn fussy.
+Combat is fun. :]
+Graphics are way better. People have teeth that aren't brown.
+Quests are fun.
+I seem to be in the minority but I really like Kirkwall. I love how you can switch night/day
+The female Hawke voice is great, I love the stuff she says
+The banter. Omylanta, the banter.

dislike:
+A lot of the maps are um, really familiar. ...I think I've seen this cave before.
+All that warrior armor wasting away because my Hawke is an archer and I can't dress up Fenris or Aveline. :[
+I wish I could talk to my companions more. They're funny! And if I could just talk to Fenris I know he'd stop hating me. I never know when I can talk to them or not. :[

I find it rather interesting that both DA:O and ME were created BEFORE EA 'took' over. There are HUGE differences between the two era's. People are insane if they think EA would EVER let Bioware spend 3-4 years making a proper sequel.

Straight-Hallways? Check
Little to no items to handle? Check
Faster pace and linear story? Check

Coincidence that we are seeing more stream-lined things coming into play AFTER EA's involvement? Unlikely. Here is an example of the quickened Development cycle:

Mass Effect:
ME 1 was released in Jan of 07.
ME 2 was released in February of 2010 (First Game in the ME Franchise to be tagged with EA on it but they only came on board half-way through the development cycle).
ME 3 will be released in December of 2011.

So it was a three year cycle between 1 and 2 but it will be LESS then two years for ME 3? Come on now.

Dragon Age: Orgins: November 2009
Awakening: March 2010

DA: 2: March 2011

ONLY a two year cycle for a sequel that took the orginal Seven years to make?

EA operates on a 2 year cycle or less for freaking everything. Everything they touch goes from good to bad in quick succession.

The fact of the matter is, Bioware will never be as great as they were before EA came into the picture. Look at ME 2 as a prime example as to how things will be done for here on out.  Look at the pay to play content with ME 2 (which is something that EA increasingly does with their games).

The sad truth is, ME 2 and DA 2 ARE dumbed down. The games WILL be rushed to an extent ergo the games won't be EVER as great before EA's involvement.  The quicker/less choices to make, the more appealing it will be to action type players. Hell, I won't be surprised if ME 3 lowers the RPG aspect of the game down even further.

What do you guys think?

This GUY ITS TOTALLY RIGHT...

People you have to admit that SOMETHING ITS WRONG, its EA they are the thing that are making the games we like soo much a ****, BIOWARE GET RID OF EA!!!!!!

BIOWARE remember something!

You were making games because it was more than make profit from a product, you were making games because you want to make them, you put a lot of work and make masterpieces because the games have creativity and they were designed to be enjoyable, but now you are only making games to make PROFIT, MONEY, you cant let this happen to you too!.

GET RID OF EA, Electronic Arts are just ruining the videogames, they want to control EVRETHING!

Yaaaa...i could just imagine the mess that would stir up. Fact is its done, EA has Bioware. And even though I enjoyed Dragon Age 2 for what it is i can see Bioware slipping down the path to mediocrity. Big game publishers only care about the money...just look at Starcraft 2, its a great game but if Activision didn't have Blizzard you really think they would be releasing the Zerg and Protoss in expansions? I believe that they would have put it all in the same game...and not with an inflated $60 price tag. Same thing with DA 2, if EA didn't have Bioware now I doubt this would have been $60 bucks.

This my friends is now all about EA and Activision...the endless war for top gaming rights. I still have hope though..Witcher 2 is coming out in May and I have no doubt that game will be great. CD Projekt isn't owned by a huge publisher...so there is sitll hope.

I'm over 20 hours in, almost to the end, so far this game has been fantastic, especially in a sea of ****** poor rpgs that have come out in the last year, after the trashy fable 3, the it plays itself ff13, two worlds 2 and so forth, this has been a breath of fresh air. Dragon age 2 has some problems but the good outweighs the bad.

pros:
Combat is better, it's virtually the same as the first one only flashier
the dialogue wheel, like it or hate it, seems to create a much smoother experience
graphics are improved (at least on xbox) by a country mile
the party banter is far better, way more variety than origins

cons
the re-used areas, while pretty, does get old, sorry bioware some more work needed to go into this area

the framed narrative, this is sort of a hit or miss, i didn't dislike it per say, but i don't think they got the effect they were looking for.

Companion armor, I'm honestly not sure how i feel on this, it is implemented a lot better than mass effect 2, however i still found myself in the inventory playing the item game constantly, i like that, but that may not be the effect they were going for, perhaps in the future maybe finding companion only armor sets?

Final: Great game, some minor hiccups, smooth combat, fairly good voice acting, engaging story, fun companions

8.5/10

Finished it. What to say.

Good:

-Graphics and Music are well done
-Story is good although I feel like its undone at the end
-Companions are well done like the way the gear upgrades although it would be nice to be able to replace it with dropped gear had some stuff that would have been nice to go to my companions

Bad:

-Combat was so easy it was silly it felt basic like I was playing something on a console (no tactics just hit stuff really fast and hard with big numbers flying around)
-Mages are really op'ed
-UI was weak very generic same thing with the interface on the stores, char screen inventory.
-Crafting was weak liked the old system better was more in depth
-Can only start as human are you kidding me?
-Reused maps
-Camera bad constantly knocks down whenever you get to the end of moving forward.
-Companions inability to vary their abilities. (i.e. can't dual weild varric and archer isabela etc etc etc)

Been a big fan of Bioware for years and this is probably the first game I have played where I felt disappointed in the end product expected more. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would probably give it a 6.

I've been waiting for months for this game to come out.

I subscribed to your newsletter. I've gotten as much of the Unlockables as I could before the game came out. I preordered the game.
I could hardly wait to get home today from work to finally get to play (I work out of town during the week.)

I'm four hours in, and I honestly don't want to finish it. I probably will, just because I love the DA lore and want to see the ending, but it's going to take me a while.

Biggest letdown in a game since Fable 2 for me.

Pros: I like the characters (especially Anders coming back).

Cons: The mini map is terrible to read and lacks any real functionality.
The Shop List are terrible to read and it's annoying to have to talk to shopkeeper's loot instead of their faces.
The combat, while fun at first, just devolves into a frenzied flurry of blood splatter and flashing colors. There's no soul to it at all. If you were trying to make a fun hack and slash game, you failed. Try checking out the Samurai Warriors series for inspiration.
I can't talk to my companions anymore. Trekking all the way back to their personal cubby hole in the map is annoying.
I'm not past Act 1 and I'm already really tired of Kirkwall. The cities in DA:O were my least favorite parts of the game. Dragon Age is a fantasy game set in a fantasy world, and you provided a city and some forest outings as the sequel?
Nothing seems finished. There's no polish or finesse about anything in game.

Edit: I think it would be an awesome idea for your lead developers to come out with a video explaining the choices that were made and defending the style you chose to go with on this game. I really like Bioware, but I feel like I was sucker punched with this title. It just makes me feel sad.

For me I will Probably go back to playing origins after my playthrough of DA2, still have to finish my mage and my dwarf noble dual weild warrior playthroughs. It will probably be a long while before i go back to play DA2 again.
Origins- 9/10,
DA2 6/10.

This game feels thrown together and watered down. I am having a hard time believing Bioware made this. If I had rented this on my 360 I would have been happy, but I paid sixty dollars on PC. When I buy a game from Bioware I expect the highest quality of game, with the extra effort towards making the PC version unique to the platform. But Dragon Age 2 feels like a port and a slap in the face to the fans that have been loyal to the brand.

This game is above average at best and would have been acceptable from JoWood, but not Bioware. I look forward to The Witcher.

Cons:

Companions - Can't equip anything to your party members, can't talk to them randomly, feels like they are not important and you can't customize them.
Exploration - Only one City.
Combat- lack of tactical gameplay, can't see what is going on.
