I have installed the game and registered the game to the website.  When I start the game it is said for me to "Activiate Your Game" and input my account email and password.  However, when I put in that information the next screen states "We could not activate Dragon Age II on this computer using the EA accoutn you provided.  Please locate your product key to activate the game using your EA account."

There is directly below a button to "Enter Product Key."  I would do just that but I am incapable of clicking the button.  In fact, it will highlight when I mouse over it but none of the buttons work on the window and the only way I can even close the window is by using Alt-F4.

What should I do?

Do it here on the forums on the left click My games, then register games, then find Dragon Age II PC.. click that and enter your code. that will bind it to ur acct. Make sure u are using the same login to the game that u use here on the forums. they must be one in the same

Having the exact same issue. I entered my key on the website and now the game tells me I can't validate on that account. WTF? Ieven logged out of my account and reentered to be sure it was the same password. No go. Frustrating.

Likewise, I am beyond frustrated with this, everyone seems to be having the same issues - so where are the answers from tech support/moderators??

After spending good money on these games, is it really necessary to spend even more on phone calls etc to try and get the game to work...We can't all be stupid - ergo there is something seriously wrong with the product itself.

VERY Disappointed in EA/Bioware

I'm having trouble validating my game too - I entered the correct information and hit 'validate' and it just hangs. I've contacted EA (not holding my breath there) and am hoping it's just a temporary server issue? Otherwise I am going to get very annoyed...

Same thing here. Just did an install and it is stuck on the initial validating on the activation screen. Registered it on the website and tried running it through origins.

Same issue here.  The game will not activate. It just says "validating"

Me too. I bought the game after it first came out and it ran fine. I haven't played it for a long time so I though I would revisit it. I downloaded the patch and it asked me to activate the game again so I did and presto it gets stuck on validating every time.

Same here, all I wanted to do was relive this game again, but it wont let me. And of course EA has no clue how to fix it...

The quote above is from a message thread that is almost a year and a half old.  None of the comments added to it today belong in the coffin with the corpse.  Necroing threads this old is valueless.

Read the forum description:  Dragon Age II PC Technical Self Help.  This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age II on PC to assist each other with technical questions and advice. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts at the link at the bottom of the page.  Fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here.

There is no Bioware presence.  None.  They ceased to have anyone watching the place after the first patch, as usual.

You do need a moderator, yes, to LOCK this thread.  But there is no "support" other than game players here, and there is nothing that we can do about what you are experiencing, further, IMO, this place is a GAME TECH forum.  You appear to have a SITE problem.  There is a SITE forum for such use.

Should those people in that forum try to send you back here, and you cannot find threads six months or less since last active to resurrect, you must start from scratch with your own personal thread.

Please dig up a less badly decayed corpse!  There is no one in here to handle such things.

This is a GAME discussion forum.  You appear to have a SITE problem.  There is a SITE forum to use.  That one also is mostly gamer to gamer.  However, unlike this forum, there is some occasional interaction from a pair of Bioware's people in that forum.

Gorath i appreciate your contribution to those forums, but since i also have the exact same problems your current "advice" could be only considered as bullying spitefull hate. The problem we ALL have at the moment of speaking is ACTIVATING our copies of Dragon Age 2. I've already spoken to 4 people from EA and i still have this problem. How not being able to activate your game should be related to a SITE problem?

Same situation as Valmegan, Having had 2 previous play throughs, bored as I was, I purchased all the Add ons, decided to play through again after about a month, Stuck on Activation. A box comes up that says "Validating", the Login button changes from "connecting" to "Validating", and nothing else happens.

I am having the same problem. I bought the game and a download and I registered it on the website. I try to launch and it says its validating then just hangs. I want to play now I feel like I've just wasted my money on this game. Is the tech support going to do anything to fix this game issue?
I can't even contact EA about it other than this forum. EA FIX THIS SO WE CAN PLAY
