Yes, because Harry Potter is the first to come up with the idea............

Fine, sorry. But HP was the first place I've ever seen it before.

The first time I saw it was when my grandma told me fairy tales about Koschei the Undying who had his life hidden in an egg (an egg in a duck, a duck in a hare, and so on). I was about three years old at the time.

They ripped off Dragon Slayer. A movie from the 80's where a magician's apprentice carries the ashes of the old wizard to a place where they need to battle a fierce dragon. The boy tosses the ashes in a lake of fire and Voila!!! the wizard appears and they battle the dragon etc.

The story of Kadashi the Deathless is centuries old, an ancient Russian tale or myth if you prefer, it's sometimes know as Ivan and the Firebird as well, but it's not the only place in stories this sort of thing has occurred. HP is simply the best known, sense HP has become so popular. Personally, I saw this coming as soon as I saw Flemeth was making an appearance in Dragon Age 2

During that scene, if you listen very carefully you can hear the Warden shrieking with frustration all the way from Ferelden.
