Ive spent the majority of my day scanning different topic threads for DA:2, and assuming the majority of them (not liking making assumptions so correct me if wrong) are from the US who got the game today ive noticed mixed feedback relating to many aspects of the game. Im trying (if not so well) to avaid any spoilers wether big or small.

As im still waiting for the game (despatched today by GAME) its great to see how other people are responding based on their personal experience, wether that be from a new perspective or a perspective gained from playing DA:O/DA:A. Personally It hasnt changed my childlike "it feels like christmas" expectations even after reading the negative posts.

I was just wondering how other people in the UK and the rest of Europe are viewing the feedback already presented and if it has changed their overall expectations of the game? (new gamers or veteran... I myself have become a huge DA fan after only playing the series for roughly 6 months).

:)

My game got dispatched today too!!! *high fives*. From what I've seen of people who've played the game's reviews, the storyline spoilers etc. and the gameplay I've seen, I can safely say you won't be disappointed :)

So, do you want to know what we think of the game or what we think about the feedback it's been having so far?

Well I've been avoiding most threads for fear of spoilers, but the ones I have read make me both excited and a bit worried.  Apparently there's issues with importing decisions from Origins, for example.

Still, it seems the general opinion is that it's 'different' from Origins, but still good.  So I'm just keeping my hopes up for when it releases in Europe on Friday.

On one hand I'd prefer to form my own opinion and BW has never disappointed me so far so there is trust, on the other hand I do read the reviews, but i wonder whether they influence my perception of the game at an unconscious level - sometimes the reviews are spot on, sometimes I disagree with them. I liked the demo, I liked the previous games and I tend to be realistic with expectations.

My signature ed has just been posted by gameplay.co.uk. Ok i dont get fadeshear sword or the lion shield, but i've never had any problems with them in the 10+ years ive been using them.

Regarding the feedback on the forums, well im taking most of it with a pinch of salt, there is a lot of fear from the hardcore crpg crowd that DA2 has simplified/streamlined too much but honestly from playing the demo, watching the live streams and chat etc it seems fine to me and i like the majority of changes. I didnt want Origins mk2. :)

I cant wait to play the full game, so excited but i'm passing the time with DA Legends, ME2 and just now FM2011 has been patched with thenew transfers, so its time for Andy Carroll to take us to the title!

Finding out that the auto attack was left out was like the last straw for me. I don't mind if the game is crap, but I do mind if I damage my thumb playing it.

I'll be on Warhammer 40K by Saturday I expect.

the bugs like the import save bug can be annoying indeed, cuz I'd like my decisions to be imported correctly into this game ofcourse!

Also I don't pay much attention to all the negativity that seems to be rolling in, I can only assume that the people who are thoroughly enjoying this game (which without a doubt will be alot) are busy playing this game, instead of trolling around on this forum looking to shoot down anything DAII related.

Some of people whining seem to be doing it just for the hell of it, so all complains, except ones about glitches, should be taken with grain of salt.

Mine got dispatched today. :-) I'm getting the signature edition for the Xbox 360. I don't listen to players reviews or
game reviewers. :-) I like to make my own opinions whether they be good or bad. But one thing that has me worried is this Import Save File Bug that people are suffering. I don't know if this is just scare mongering from dissatisfied players or an actual problem. I also find it a sad affair that BioWare has not commented on this and if it is an issue why wasn't it dealt with when making the game. >.<

But putting that aside. I've played the demo and liked it and I am looking forward to the game. I just hope this bug is nothing more than an urban legend. But I think it isn't unfortunately. :'-(

I think for the most of it ive also been taking it with a pinch of salt (maybe more than a pinch in some cases), I always like to have other perspectives when going in to a game that has had such varied responses... especially when I loved its predesessor so much. Im very doubtful that when i get the game though that anything i may have read on here will have any crash and burn effect on how much I enjoy it. And as you said from watching live streams, chat and demo everyone has a good idea of how the gameplay will be presented.

Also i think i read somewhere that the fadeshear sword and lion sheil do come with the sig edition... il try to find the source.

Well, the more glitches people report, the more that will be fixed by the time I get the game, I hope.

I would appreciate the forum being kept spoiler-free as well - too many already creeping in.

I'm enjoying reading bits and pieces about how DA2 is being received but even I hear some bad stuff it's not putting me off.  I'm pretty easily pleased anyway and since the story and characters are the main thing I'm interested in, the game could operate exactly the same as DA:O and I'd still be happy.  I know what you mean about "feeling like Christmas" though - I can't wait till Friday when I can walk out of work on a half day, call into Game and then not move off the sofa till Monday morning!

I think it's easier to be a critic than to praise something. It's human nature to want to be right and prove others wrong so many people are more inclined to pick faults than to talk about the things they liked in the game. You need to judge the game on it's own merit and not compare it constantly to Origins as this game is different. Origins was Bioware attempting to recapture what they did with Baldur's Gate II while it's good for the old school fans of the Baldur's Gate series it doesn't have the same appeal to newcomers to the RPG genre and it seems to be the old school fans that are complaining that it's not built like the games they remember.

Personally i'm looking forward to Bioware moving forward with the RPG genre and setting new trends rarther than playing it safe and making constant rehashes of games from 10 years ago

Always knew the game will have flaws. Awakening and the DA:O DLCs weren't a great precedent, no matter how they sugarcoated everything with their "interesting" marketing.

Still, I was willing to give it a chance.

I'm worried after reading all the complaints about game corrupting origins choices and not registering early game choices ... what worries me more is that Bioware knew about them since apparently both are listed under known issues in the game's read me file.

I will not play the game until they patch the save import so that it works properly. If they won't than I will be selling my Sig edition and will probably give up on the Dragon Age team and not buy anymore Dragon Age games.

Apart from that feedback has been very good and If they fix the game than I will love it :)

The bugs and the auto attack issue wont bother me because it'll all be patched eventually.

I've been trying to avoid spoilers and i've been mostly successful in that. From what I have read and seen though it's going to be fantastic.

I loved Origins and I loved the demo. I love the new attack animations - particularly on mages.

I'm not particularily worried about the negative comments. I found the demo addicting so I'm 99% sure I will love the full version too.

Release date is now showing as "to be confirmed" on play.com, you have any further information on this?, also it should definitely have been Space Wolves or Dark Angels instead of Ultramarines.

The import errors and lack of auto-attack are unacceptable from a company this large. It just gives the impression they were more concerned about their silly marketing challenges than actually getting the end product out.

I'm resigned to it being more of an action-game, but I'm sure the story will be fine. I'm not a fan of the cartoony graphics I've seen. Zevran and the darkspawn look horrible. I hope the whole 'grim/dark' thing isn't forced on us and that we can actually affect the outcome by the choices we make.

The demo for me made the game become the "christmassy feeling" i mentioned before. I know it wasnt a perfect representation of the game (many people appear to have thought that is EXACTLY what the game will be upon release) ... but all the ingredients were on the box - ""DEMO"" but i agree that it was very addictive, I must have gone through it trying every weapon type and conversation choice (still leaning towards a mage though).

Other peoples views shouldnt influence our enjoyment at all, im just a tad strange and like looking at things from different viewpoints as im sure many people do (without the strange) :P

Nivi be from Wales, and really I've been reading the reviews (positive and negative both) with little more than a passing interest.

I've never really trusted any view but my own regarding entertainment because appetites are so wildly different. So for me it'll be an 'I'll find out on the day' thing. I must say though, the demo? Has me pretty excited.

I don't really get the issues with not having auto-attack. I never found my thumbs aching while playing, and it's better than sitting watching easy battles like in Origins and occasionally hitting a special skill. Anyway, in short I think overall I've been hearing good things.
