UK/ Europe thoughts on feedback of game while still awaiting the 11th release date

It is to be expected that most feedback right after release is negative though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I'm looking forward to Thursday, and based on what I've seen so far, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

If the game is better than the demo (and i thought that it was already quite good) then I'm happy.

I am surprised people aren't talking about the length of development. It is about 16 month since Origins and normally Bioware would take an extra six months or so I would guess.
All the "It's rushed!" complains were countered with "BioWare is teh sex" arguments since these boards were opened.

The review average is probably around 8.6 or 8.7. I think the game looks more than biowares standards and it looks like it has improved on DAO in many ways. Still very excited even though so many people are hating. Cant wait.

Apart from that i'm excited to play the game myself. The reviews are all good, even if they complain about copy&paste dungeons etc. so it can't be a total disaster

there are a lot of aggressive arguments on here at the moment, i put that down to excitement about the game (positive argument) or overall disapointment in the game (negative argument). Everyone has their own general opinions and will like it when people take notice of what they are saying (doesnt everyone).AngryFrozenWater wrote...
About feedback on these forums... I like to see what happens next week. By that time everyone has played the game and excuses like "you only played the demo" and "faith in BioWare" won't hold anymore. I also think that people making the decision to buy the game (or not) based on the demo or the articles or user reviews is natural. The "you can't judge the game until you've played it" argument is partially true, but it is also nonsense, because you can't buy every game out there. Sometimes you need to make a choice. However, I don't like the aggression (both sides) and the melodrama on these forums. It's getting worse by the day.
we really cant buy every game out there that would be financial suicide, so the mojority of gamers will rely on the reviews, demos and overall feedback of other gamers (again not helped by the massive yes or no aggression approach). Im very surprised that on the threads second page and everything has remained on neutral ground, easy on the eye to read... so to speak.
"you only played the demo" and "faith in BioWare" arguments i think come from people that have an intense love for the genre as a whole (correct me please if im wrong) so i do see their point completely. I wouldnt particularly say im a bioware fan as DO is the only title of theirs ive played so have no base for comparison... but next week will be interesting when the dust settles to see what everyone thinks of it as a whole around the world. Pinch of salt still required to read some opinions, add that to some of my british chips and im damn over excited about getting my hands on the game

I personally think the true game lies somewhere between these to clashing positions also i still somehow trust Bioware to deliver a decent game. But maybe this is the reason why so many seem disappointed, because the expectations form a BW game are always high. The reviews i've seen so far support this. The lower ratings are always justified with that it isn't as great or complex as former BW games.
I take the feedback here as entertainment to shorten the time to the European release but I rather form my opinion on my own after i played the game.

Unfortunately I recently built a comp and have yet to reinstall DA: O and put my save games on it.

There's some technical issues which have been brought up, which is a concern, but none of them are major enough to bother me greatly (unless they aren't fixed eventually
I won't judge the game until I've finished it myself. I've been following the game's development, was happy enough with the demo and I'm not looking for (or expecting) DA:O part 2.

Superbly put! *high fives*IRMcGhee wrote...
I only pay attention to a dozen or so of the forum regulars whose opinions, positive or negative, I know I can trust. A lot of posters have been bashing the game long before they even saw any gameplay or tried the demo, so I'm hardly going to be taking any of their comments seriously (in fact, I reckon most regulars who like the game will be too busy playing it to come on here to post for a few days, so the doomsayers will be in the majority in the threads for a time).

Looking forward to it, but I'm getting the impression that its not 'Bioware Hall of Fame' material from reviews and friends who're playing the game.
Still though I expect I will, at the very least, enjoy it for what it is.

Anyway I believe you should respect the creative freedom of the team behind the game, and I for one am looking forward to continuing my adventure in the Dragon Age.

respecting the creative freedom of the team should be easy for us all after the games they have made in the past (its a great team) I get the feeling though that some people are angry that its so "different" from DA:O... but wait, wouldnt everyone be annoyed if t was EXACTLY the same with nothing taking the world forward? Im at least glad people here are sane as mentioned before by another poster.HapGhost wrote...
Skimming through the forum I find a lot of negative feedback which is almost all technical related. There also seams to be a lot of misinformed or prejustical opinions. This is the first thread that I find to be balaced and, well, "sane".

'Oh I'm waiting, always waiting. I'm curious on if it's decent. So I'm waiting, always waiting, soon I'll form my own opinion on it!'
Those whining are likely the usual shooter fans who want the same tired shooter they get all the time or those just wanting attention.
I'm disappointed at the sound of it being dumbed down, games are dumbed down enough as it is these days in order to cater to those who complain if they don't get their hand held all the way through a game and everything done for them.
I hope the game will be decent, enjoyed DA:O a lot, still enjoying it. But I am worried.

I've sworn to myself, when I've finished the game I will come back into this black hole of a forum and write an contructive review of the game, based on my opinions as an 28 year old father of 2 with an full time job and with my perspective on playing RPG's since the diaper days.
Does that mean I'm gonna write all good? Absolutly not! If the game does'nt deserve a good review, the review will not be good! My days of "fanboism" is long gone. Now days though, I've inherited the ability to actually judge a game for what is is and should be.... a game!

1- A combat system that works better on Xbox360 than DAO.
2- A game where Bioware has got the balls to make a very different story (I really like the political-social approach... someone really want to save the world AGAIN?... how original!)
3- I really like the dialog 'wheel' system. Silent characters feel outdated to me.
4- Recicled environments are really my only big concern so far.
I think that DA2 will have some things better than DAO and some things worse. But I'm glad that Bioware has tried to change/ update the old classic fantasy RPG. It would be easier for them to stick with the old 'hardcore' formula, but they don't want to do the same game twice, and I think that this is the only way to evolve. Maybe not all the changes will be great, but I'm sure that the game will be fun.
PD: Sorry for my poor english. Next time i will write in spanish. Cajones

I have become a bit concerned about recycled environments throughout the game (not seen myself yet so only a fleeting concern)
