Still waiting in the UK. Might have a pint of lager and a packet of crisps. Obviously can't do this until i have a cup of tea and a crumpet or two. Cheerio!
Im at work today (going incredibly slow waiting for game to deliver) though that made me chuckle *thanks*

I learned long time ago that on BSN "reviews" of new Bioware games can't be trusted.

My copy of SE was shipped yesterday so I think I will get to smash X button on friday until my fingers are numb.
edit: hope they fix the auto-attack system soon.

Ah crap. Just got blocked by the "Release Date Controller". I forgot that we europeans aren't allowed to play the game till the 10th -.- . Meh... another 11 hours of waiting for me than.
Huh?! I never heard of this! Are you on xbox? What happened, you put the game into your console and that came up?

I'm am bit confused by these so clearly divided opinions of the game. So many are calling DA2 the worst game in history here but I'm trying not to loose my faith on it. I hope I haven't raised my expectations too high because I have never been so excited of a game before release date. The demo version has convinced me already so I dont think my 50€ will go completely waste.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.
Can't say I'm looking forward to X mashing but if the demo is anything to go by then Archer or Mage is the way to minimise it.

No on PC
Just got the Game from Amazon, installed it, installed the fixes for my ATI, installed the new content and clicked play. Then you get an little programm that checks if it's release day in your timezone or country or whatever. Since the offical release date in Europe is the 10th and not the 8th like in america it says I'm not allowed to play it at the moment.

There was same song when the Awakening was released. It seemed to be end of the world for somebody, they sayed there was HUGE problems and the game sucked. I completely disagree, it was not so different and the differences were minor.
After the demo I have nice vision about DA2. I don't care if it's not (and when it is not) perfect, I'm happy with good, entertaining game. I love smooth combat system and isometric cam, but as I have played PC games over 20 years there is no problem to get use to some new features. They're not a problem if you give them a chance!
Only one thing bothers me, it seems that gaming time is not even half of DA:O? Correct if I'm wrong.

I've been hearing 15 hours for the main story, and anything from 30 to 60 hours in total.

Some of the things people are moaning about don't really affect me (I'm actually glad the combat's different and that the inventory's been simplified for starters), and while I do agree some of the complaints seem very valid (like regarding the recycled environments), I doubt ultimately it'll have much of an impact on my enjoyment of the game.
I just hope that in a few days the forums are a bit more bearable though, they're really grating at the moment.

Hmmm.. it is about the half of DA:O... I've always played all sidequests I could find so it seem to be not so big problem. 50+ hours is very acceptable. It is good indeed compared at huge majority of games. So if it's something like that I'll satisfied.
Blah, I can't wait... two long days and I'm hanging there reading topics and try to avoid spoilers

There will almost certainly be an Ultimate Edition, and by then I can get a decent PC to play both DA:O and DA2 on. Hopefully by then most bugs will be smoothed out (assuming, of course, that the patches don't break the game even more, as they have in the past). Hopefully we'll also get a toolset update by then.
The last straw is really the auto-attack thing. I don't want to play a button-masher. It's not the type of game I enjoy, and I think it's absolutely appalling that the issue didn't come to light sooner.
