Video Issues with SDTV

Also, my brother found this out, but it seems that if you go into system settings and change your Xbox video format to wide screen, the characters don't flicker anymore. But then, the whole game looks squished, not just the cutscenes, so that's not any kind of solution. Just thought it would be interesting to point out.

Hopefully it is something that can be patched, not all of us have the means for getting a decent sized HDTV (as the small ones are expensive themselves).

Do I want free access to the dialogue options and the rich lore in the codex at the expense of baring with the squished cutscenes and headache-inducing flickering? Or do I want to spend a couple hundred dollars to correct the resolution, at the cost of all the good reads in the codex?
I think the real answer to that question is that this dilemma is just downright unbecoming of a game this good. It's a shame, isn't it? :c

Figured this out and have been playing since. A bit begrudgingly, but far more plesantly than before. Bioware, i am incredibly disappointed.

I've had the same problem. Strange that demo looked perfect.Xerxes52 wrote...
I have been playing for about 30 min - 1 hour, and I have noticed that the cutscenes are not properly formatted for 4:3 SDTVs, the videos are out of proportion (they appear to be too thin, and the edges of the cutscenes are cut off), and character models will frequently "stutter" (such as during Varric's interrogation scenes, and with Wesley's final conversation), also there appears to be random drops in framerate during cutscenes and dialogue. The problem with the video proportions is giving me a serious headache.
I did not have this problem with the demo.
Also I installed the game to my 360's hard drive.
Also the text is almost illegible (which was also an issue in the demo).
Any help from Bioware would be appreciated.

Many share your feelings and I know you're frustrated, but no ones going to prioritize your post higher because it's in caps. If anything it's mainly going to get skipped.

It's hard to even fathom how a bug that is noticed right at the start of the game goes through to the end. You would think they would have had people play the game during testing.

Had the same problem, not a gigantic issue that it prevented me from playing the game, but it got way worse as I got closer to finishing the game.
Really I had to straight up stop playing. Elves were like super skinny freaks and the top of my guys head was cut off in practically ever dialogue scene, it made the game unbearable for me. Very small-time of Bioware.
