Bump. How about a response here Bioware. At least tell us if were all just a bunch of jackasses for assuming you'll fix this.
+1. I'd like to know if we're just wasting our time hoping for a fix, or if there are actually plans to fix this.

Figured I'd add myself to this list of angry customers and give it another bump. Please fix this Bioware. Payed for the signature edition, now I'm almost ready to throw it in the garbage. The game is simply unplayable on a SDTV. A response is really the LEAST you could do for us at this point. A simple "yes we will fix this" or "No, we ripped you all off" will suffice.
Ya this is stupid. I just spent $60 on a game that i can't play because of the slowdown bug, and there has been no respone on when, or if, it will be fixed.

Seriously, I'd like to know one way or the other.

Also, a lot of these issues don't seem like they'd be related to the display device at all; for example, if it was the device, it wouldn't just be the characters flickering, it would be everything. The texture for Justice's eyes wouldn't be on the wrong location, that's all rendered internally in the console. It's like saying it's your TV's fault for a man falling off a ladder in a TV show.
So it seems like the problem is with the Xbox - I mean, are all the people in this thread using a 4:3 SD or are any of you using a widescreen SD? Maybe these problems are caused by setting the Xbox to 4:3 and the Xbox, in that setting, is misinterpreting things? Try playing a part you know will screw up (flickering characters, Justice's eyes being in the wrong place, etc) while setting your Xbox to widescreen. Obviously it'll be all stretched, but if everything's fine apart from the stretching, it means it's not the TV so much as it is the 4:3 setting on the Xbox.

Isn't this more a 4:3 TV issue than an SDTV issue? I have an SDTV but it's a ~29" widescreen and it's fine. The writing isn't too small, no flickering or anything. The writing in Dead Rising (1) was too small, it was notorious for that, but nothing wrong with DA2 on SDTVs in general.

I had actually tried this. Playing the game in 4:3 causes the flickers, letterboxing in conversations, and skewed image in cut scenes/dialogue. If you switch your xbox display setting over to widescreen (even if you dont have a widescreen tv) it will eliminate flickering and lettboxing during dialogue but the entire game still plays skewed, stretched and warped. This was enough to let me play, but the game still looks really stupid this way. I suppose if you have a widescreen sdtv it may look ok, but most sdtv's are not widescreen (I've never seen one before). It's still not the fix we need. The fact remains that this issue was not in the demo, which leads me to believe that it was not intentional....but it still looks unlikely that they're going to doing anything about it.

I wonder if this could be fixed by changing the X-Box settings before you load the game from the Console setup menu.
As far as ANY game manufacturer goes, if you have SD TV in 2011, you are out of the loop. (Kind of like me guarding my PC with XP Pro with my life, I ain't giving in!)
I am stunned at all the glitches PC gamers have with DA II...it's not made to be a PC game. Simple as that, too glitchy, as was Dungeon Siege.
Good luck you guys.

Honestly if they had intended it to be wide screen only and gave 4:3 users warning I would not have any problems with it, a little bummed out but I would not have bought it in the first place.

They should add a "Known issue" topic.

But can we at least have a reply from tech support saying they are aware of this issue? I'm not asking for a rescue shuttle. Just a reply to the distress beacon!

I'm experiencing similar problems myself. Didn't have any demo issues, but the flickering and distortion really gets in the way of enjoying some of the cutscens. So far, the game has had relatively few bugs for me, and I've enjoyed most of the changes in the systems and the storyline is exactly what I've come to expect from Bioware.

I know I just want bioware to reply to this forum. I am pretty sure this can be easily fixed since their demo did not have this problem like I said it doesnt make since why the finished product would. Like not everybody has an HD TV most people buy one TV and just stick with it. Its good thing that this forum is a hot topic one so maybe the admins or something will take a look at it, and say that whether or not they can patch this problem, because I seriously cant see why they cant.

While streaming this game with a SD capcard the cut scenes not focused on Hawk flicker so bad, I'm surprised no one with photosensitive Epilepsy has reported and stressed the severity of this problem. It seems like simple problem to fix.
Also I think no matter how much the thread gets bumped we won't get a response. It's been almost two weeks since this thread was made, and if they were going to say/do something about it they would have by now. So I guess this is one problem we'll have to live with.

More evidence that this is a bug IMO.Cyberstrike nTo wrote...
The funny thing is I don't have this problem on my PS3 and I have played DA2 on the same TV.
