DA:O text was bad enough. SD support is a must if you expect to retain me as a customer.
I need cutscene ratio to be fixed and text resolution to be increased significantly. Please.

If you don't have a complain to lodge or a solution to offer, do everyone a favor and shut up.
Complaint: Too many backwards-tech emo ****** on the internet.
Solution: Quitcha ****in! X-Box 360 and PS3 both currently shipping with HDMI cables. But this is the X-Box thread home, so screw what sony is doing. Older 360 consoles came standard with component (HD) cables with an RCA cable branch for backwards-tech people who 8 years ago didn't have enough excuses to upgrade. As I stated before, the standard for movies, television and gaming is widescreen HD. If you are still using SD, you are the problem, so the real solution would be to upgrade and stop whining like an apostate mage. I can hear it now...
"No please, Mr. Templar, Don't kill us! We just needed a break from the circle to summon deamons and ask them about the future of SDTV. We'll go back without a fight. Please don't kill us, and gain ****tons of experience and gain levels so you can wear that awsome armor that looks so much more awesome in HD! We promise not to do it again!" We all know how that turns out. Mage slushies. My advice: Upgrade. Shut up. Quit wasting board space.

because you really don't want to see half the screen, and would rather video games use the trashy looking pan-and-scan meathod that made standard def such a wonderful format to watch movies in...2 decades ago.
and text resolution to be increased significantly. Please.
Actually you want the text resolution decreased thus making the text larger obfucsating even more of the screen and therefore viewable on your backwards-tech SD pile of landfill salvage.
upgrade.

Please also note that most negative reviews of Mass Effect 2 mentioned the text size. It's even on wikipedia, immortalized for ever and ever until one of you goes online and changes it.
Honestly, I'll be happy with the cutscene ratio fixed, but I won't turn down a text size patch either.

I never actually said whether I have HD or not, but it doesn't surprise me you'd be so quick to make assumptions. What's with all the passionate nerd rage you have towards people that don't have enough disposable income to drop what they're doing and buy a new TV or other responsibilities that come before gaming? You seem weirdly invested in a problem that's not even affecting you - enough to chime in with a bunch of adolescent sarcasm and rudeness. Isn't there something better you could be doing with your time; some cause greater than your deep-seated, burning need for everyone to play video games in HD to champion? Is this something you worry about and obsess over on a day-to-day basis? I mean, it seems REALLY important to you.
This. A thousand times. This.

now THAT is a software company that lies !!
I was upset that DAII didnt have auto attack, but there is nothing that endless complaining is going to do to speed it up...
Chris has said that they are working on fixing this, lets give them a chance, and if they do not follow through, then vote with your wallet by not buying any downloadble content, or boycott ME3 to show them that consumers are right even in this negative customer service world we live in.
Until then, there is nothing we can do, but live with it ..
I btw have the 360 version and I like it a lot, a little annoying that your character wont "lock" onto one foe like DA:O but will have to make do until BW fix this.

At least they didnt do what Silicon Knights did in Too Human, and put in game content that you couldnt get to because they closed their servers that were needed to access the content, or lie about sequels,..

You are aware that Too Human didn't sell as well as it should have (because it was an awesome game), and Silicon was very nearly bankrupted by Epic, because of how badly Epic handled getting Silicon the Unreal engine.
Also, yes, if there was to be button mashing, why can we have no button (like clicking one of the sticks) that locks us onto a target.

I just want to know, will it, or will it not, be fixed eventually? I'm not gonna get mad, either way. I'd just like to know.

I dunno, it just seems kindof odd to me that the topics about the video format problem aren't receiving as much feedback from moderators and stuff as other topics... I mean, Nathan Frederick said they were "looking into these, and other issues," but that's not very concrete. Especially on a topic where more problems than just the format issue were brought up.

To be fair, people seem to underestimate how closely game companies watch their forums and pass along information internally. People demand transparency and answers much faster than a developer can even find the source of a problem and determine whether than can fix it quickly (or at all). This doesn't mean we should excuse fundamental problems with the game, it simply means we need to be patient and provide as much information as possible to help Bioware nail down the problem.

Get with the times people like you say. Yeah okay. Get with the times yourself then. We should be playing ALL our games on PC then. I've got one that makes our beloved consoles obsolete but in the end its preference and mine is my stinking old TV hooked up to my 360. I feel more comfortable like that and I'm sure others do too.

I can understand if the resolution prohibits them from increasing the text size, and I can live with that. It wouldn't be the first 360 game to have the issue, It's just the awful forced widescreen during the cutscenes that wasn't present in the demo I'd like to see fixed. Well, that and the myriad of smaller bugs that need to be addressed as well.
Honestly, this smacks more of a rushed EA deadline than anything else.

If I really had it bother me that much like you think I would have gone out and bought the HDTV the first time I read someone say upgrade you stubborn silly person.
Anyway I got my problem fixed by just setting the console to wide screen to get rid of the flickering. To those not happy I hope you get a patch. I'm not against it.

But overall, I just think some people like to talk smack, and I'm inclined to simply let them get it out of their system.

My reasoning for it is that you no longer can have a tactical game if you have to press every time you want to attack (you're forced to do a good job managing the tactics menu and controlling a healer/low auto-attack damage dealer so you can manage the game). I'd get it on PC, but I no longer have the saves since I replaced the old one after it fried... that's the nice thing about consoles, hard to lose the data.
Nevertheless, it would be nice to hear something more no Bioware's part. I'm having a blast on normal difficulty, but I want to play on nightmare and not feel punished by having to button mash.

Oh my bad. Ugh sorry for the misunderstanding if there was one. I'm just going to play my game and be happy.
Been encountering a number of small weird bugs that have documented elsewhere on the site (time stamp issues, quests that can't be completed correctly) as I go along - it's a pretty sloppy game, honestly. Certainly not New Vegas bad, but not what I would normally expect from Bioware.
The good news is that it's still a lot of fun, and even the display problems are worth slogging through to play it. The writing is, as usual, top-notch. I hope they get everything sorted out sooner rather than later.

Yeah... Just... Why did it have to be Dragon Age II? :'c Why couldn't it start with a game I wasn't planning to buy right away? That's just bad luck for me, I guess. And judgement, for not waiting for reviews and stuff.dryz wrote...
Honestly everything has gone HD you cant even watch free tv on a SDTV anymore without buying a converter and every place that sells TVs has been saying for about 10yrs that analog televisions are being slowly made obsolete on purpose for the big digital push of what 4 years ago now. I wouldnt doubt this is whats happening in games as well especially right now the government wants people to spend as much as possible and this is just another way to do that.
But seriously, they should've warned people about it or something. I can't afford to buy an HDTV, so it really doesn't help to ignorantly spend what little money I do have on a game that I need an HDTV to play. I suppose that's just another way they get your money.

So what? The Xbox 360 is designed to work on SDTVs as are all the games. The demo worked fine on my television, why doesn't the full game?dryz wrote...

Now I am about 1 month away from getting a HDTV but the fact is, I have this game now. I paid for it just as you did with the full understanding that it would work properly on my television as all other games I have ever purchased for the console have including Dragon Age Origins which I finished 4 times. Yes, I can play Dragon Age 2, but it just so happens that squashed framing takes me out of the experience so completely that I become uniterested in the narrative.
I'm sorry but no matter your reasoning, this is unfortunately inexcusable. Oh and where I live I can watch SDTV without the aid of a set top box perfectly fine.
