Yes, think about it.

Ha ha ... no. Fable 3 is not only one of the glitchiest games around, but if you combine quest halting glitches with the inability to exit quests with the fact that there's only one save slot... which the game automatically saves over frequently (often after the game has glitched) you have the potential for game killing glitches. I.e.  the ones which force you to restart even though your three quarters of the way through the game.Glitches aren't usually a problem when you have multiple saves but Fable3 strips you of the ability. Bioware and Bethesda are still miles ahead of Lionhead.

If it was BioWare's (or EA's) intention to "force" people to HD by knowingly released a game that looks kind of lousy in SD, they should have made it clear that that was their intention. Whether or not SD is a dying technology (and I'm of the mind that it is), BioWare made no mention of how the game would suffer on an SD display and should do what they can to fix what issues are plaguing SD owners.

Is anyone not playing on an HDTV getting a lot of screen flicker during cutscenes? (Yes, I do not have one of those snazzy new tvs, my current one works fine and I see no reason to buy a new one because it's prettier, I will wait until my current one starts to go.)

IMO, they REALLY need to fix the text.

This SD debacle is ridiculous. Small text sucks, but after ME2 and bioware's giant middle finger waving attitude to SDTV owners I really expected no less.

What's terrible is the constant aspect ratio shifting and screen flickering on SDTVs which wasnt there in the demo. How does a demo work better than the final product? It's insane.

And for those with HDTVs giving people with SDTVs crap, we're not complaining about small text, we're complaining that the game cant decide on a resolution, and in game play is pan scan, and in cutscene it's all anamorphic but unstretched. its incredibly messy.

For those with tv's that let you adjust aspect ratio, a temporary solution is to set your 360 to output widescreen and set your tv to 16:9. Yes you'll end up with even tinier text, but at least you can play the game without feeling like it's about to explode .

Has anyone else noticed a possible glitch with the fereldan shield picked up at the start of the game. it seems if you keep swapping that shield with re-inforced shield that your armor stats go up. Can anyone please confirm this is the case or have experienced this? does it also apply between any other shields?

for the record i can say that im disappointed there isnt an auto attack option as i dont want to repeatedly tap the a button as i had heard there was due to be that option. this game is a far cry from DA:O and further from its spirtual predeccesor of baldurs gate. but im sure a repeated copy of DA:O and we all would have been unhappy. im sure even though the game seems a bit rushed in some aspects it will turn out a good game.

You want short, here it is:
Upgrade. It's well beyond time. You'll thank yourself.
Autoattack: No. I like when the game doesn't play itself, thank you. I fell asleep from boredome so many times in DA1.
SDTV Res. Glitches: Upgrade hardware (at least you don't have to buy a new $2000 gaming PC every 3 years.)
Me: I'm a jerk. Deal with it.

Seems to happen often with just about all shields.  It basically bugs then entire shield-wielding class for the entire game at this point.

This is the second thread I've seen you post in in which you went out of your way to explain to everyone you're a jerk on the internet (the "my girlfriend says I'm a jerk on the internet" post on the PS3 DAII board was such an obvious bid for attention I actually laughed out loud). Do you have some pathological need to construct a "I'm the resident Bioware forum tough guy" persona for yourself? It seems bizarrely important to you that people understand this.

Also, this isn't a thread for your opinions on what should and shouldn't be in the game. It's for people that want a feature in the game that was present in the demo and in other versions. An issue you yourself do not have since you're not playing on an SDTV. Which again begs the question - why exactly are you even here? Perhaps this time could be better spent with the girlfriend you need everyone to know you have.

Oh nonono, you misunderstand.  I'm not saying Fable 3 is a good game.  I'm just saying you can read the text.

Actually, I'd say that Dragon Age 2 kind of feels to me like what the Fable series should be; a fantasy story which revolves around your hero, rather than a buggy action rpg with a bunch of pointless life sim crap thrown in.

I hate to agree with you, but on this, yeah, I kind of do like manual attack.  And don't give me that ADHD crap; it just feels more immersive, more involved.

First they need to find the problems (gather from this community aswell). Then they need to test and reenact the problems. Then they need to fix the problems. Then they need to bug-test the problem-fixes. Then they need to send it to Microsoft. Then Microsoft needs to test and certificate the patch. Then Microsoft need to upload it to their patch servers. So yeah... I would assmume the first patch would hit earliest at the end of this month. Microsoft can use a week and up to a whole month just to certificate a patch.

Unless Microsoft has gotten a new system to handle patches, and Bioware got a easy line to Microsoft.

It's nice to see I have a stalker to check up on me and follow my posting history.  It's also sweet of you to point out the flaws in my personal behavior, but not make a rational argument against anything I've said. And while we're being all stalkerish, I can point out that you have only posted to this thread in the past 2 days and have added abosolutly nothing. Meanwhile you havn't played DA2 at all, though you have apparently registered it, making me wonder what you use as a base to form an oppinion about this game at all. (Way to go racking up those DA1 achievments yesterday)

Also, this isn't a thread for your opinions on what should and shouldn't be in the game.

LOL. Sure it's not. It's just a thread on what YOU want. Of course, I wouldn't even have posted on this thread if it wasn't so blatently out of place. It's on the technical SELF HELP board and the title is addressed to bioware begging for patch relese details. Patches would be on http://www.support.ea.com because EA make the patches for the games it publishes. And news of a patch would be on the DA2 news board. Under technical selfhelp, you will find things you can do YOURSELF that do not involve patching the game, like updating your hardware, or changing the settings on your xbox to widescreen.

BTW: The PC, Mac, and PS3 versions don't have autoattack, and the PS3 sh*ts on your SDTV while PC and Mac don't even aknowlage it's existance. Personally I think time would be better spent fixing the infinite gold/exp glitch that is so readily abusable, or the shield glitch that just makes your def atributes skyrocket, or the seasure-style motion of hawke's head durring some cutscenes.

Honestly everything has gone HD you cant even watch free tv on a SDTV anymore without buying a converter and every place that sells TVs has been saying for about 10yrs that analog televisions are being slowly made obsolete on purpose for the big digital push of what 4 years ago now. I wouldnt doubt this is whats happening in games as well especially right now the government wants people to spend as much as possible and this is just another way to do that.

So what? The Xbox 360 is designed to work on SDTVs as are all the games. The demo worked fine on my television, why doesn't the full game?

Now I am about 1 month away from getting a HDTV but the fact is, I have this game now. I paid for it just as you did with the full understanding that it would work properly on my television as all other games I have ever purchased for the console have including Dragon Age Origins which I finished 4 times. Yes, I can play Dragon Age 2, but it just so happens that squashed framing takes me out of the experience so completely that I become uniterested in the narrative.

I'm sorry but no matter your reasoning, this is unfortunately inexcusable. Oh and where I live I can watch SDTV without the aid of a set top box perfectly fine.

Just to be clear im in no way saying this is ok, this glitch is game breaking and if what i described is what they were doing it should have been well documented. Im just saying im pretty sure this is the way of the future sooner or later games will switch over and when they do there needs to be plenty of notice so people can decide ahead of time just like they did with the DTV switch they gave like 6 years notice. Im not expecting that kind of notice but maybe a compatability guide maybe under the games rating. This was an oversite plain and simple and whoever was in charge of testing compatability should be fired and find a new carreer.

And to whoever said they wouldnt think to check the game on an SDTV or on a Slim neither would I but thats why we dont get paid to make sure games work correctly.

Oh yeah i got so enthralled with this issue i forgot what i originally wanted to say to the OP. You my boy are a douche, you make a thread trying to seem all high and mighty telling (not asking but actually telling) a company that you expect an answer in 8 hours lol. If i were Bioware or EA's rep i would do everything in my power just to ****** you off. You ever hear of catching more flies with honey then vinegar? Sorry they didnt make a game to your standard why stop at auto attack why not auto play then you could hit a button and lay back and not have to worry about doing anything. You talk down to billion dollar company yet youre having aproblem playing the game on your SDTV. Why not try asking for an explaination instead of demanding one because no matter how special youre mommy convinced you that you are, youre just another person having the same problem as everyone else and the world doesn't care one bit about what you want.

To everyone else sorry bout that but his douchebaggery really got me heated

I use an SDTV, can't afford an HD TV since it's well beyond my budget, and I was disappointed that Mass Effect 2's tiny text issues were never fixed. It felt like they were forcing those who can't afford or want an HD TV to get one.
The tiny text made it hard for me to play ME2 and I would really like to get that game finished, but I can't because it hurts to play it due to the tiny text that needs read.

With DA2 having the same tiny text issues and graphical hiccups on non-HD TV's then, even though DA2 is quite interesting to so far, it feels like once again there's pressure being put on gamers to buy an HD TV.
For me to afford an HD TV would take a miracle since my budget isn't the best since bills must come first before a new TV.

I hope the tiny text and poor support for those with SD TV's will be fixed soon, would love to keep playing DA2 and I hope ME2 will get a patch to fix it's tiny text as well, would love to get that finished before ME3 is out.

For the record, the only issues I actually want fixed are the aspect ratio problem and (obviously) the bugs. The lack of auto-attack is puzzling but not a game breaker for me, nor is the small font. The latter is just a consequence of increased resolution, unfortunately.

As the poster above illustrated, "upgrading" is not always a responsible or viable option. I don't see why this is so difficult to understand, or why it warrants comment.

I also agree the OP's tone in the first post was rather entitled, but I understand the frustration and hope Bioware's working on it.

P.S. - Weird that I have so many achievements for a game I haven't played.  And that they don't magically link with a profile you haven't sync'd yet.  Must be some more new tech I need to upgrade to.  But enough bickering, it's tiresome and accomplishes nothing.

We're looking into these, and other issues. We do not currently have an ETA for a patch.

There will not be a patch by the end of the week - the time it takes between leaving the hands of internal testing (once we come up with a solution), through the distribution process and into your hands is more than a week alone, and completely outside our control.

True:Test drive:unlimited 2 (for ex) was released in europe 2011-02-11.
corrupt saves, unable to connect to other players, freezes and more-they´ve been working on a patch since the release, and when finally completed the patch,it was sent to Microsoft-its been in microsofts hands for over 2weeks now i think, and still not released.
Last i heard is its going to be release monday 14/3.
It takes time...

I have the dialog issue on my wide screen 20 inch computer monitor, 25 inch SDTV and 22 inch HDTV. The only person I know that doesn't have this issue is the manager at my local GameStop and he plays it on a 40 inch HDTV. Sorry but I am not going to buy a 40 inch HDTV just so I can play DA2. I will return this game back first.

WTF? PC at least is nothing but auto attack (can't comment on Mac)... and my comp can be hooked up to my T.V. (just don't feel like I got my money's worth when I do that... damn monitors).

I keep asking for an auto-attack TOGGLE, we were told the PC version would have one and wouldn't have a 'click-to-attack' feature, it wasn't said that we would have the toggle, but tone made it sound like it was just something that the PC wouldn't have (meaning the consoles would). I don't like the fact I had to go out and buy a PC version of the game to get my strategy fix. (PC >>>>>>> 360 version if you ask me).

Still, whether it is a dying tech or not, the 360 was designed and built when SD was the main type of T.V., as such having these issues with SD should not have occured without them disclosing the fact that the game will not be playable on an SDTV. (And from what I've seen on youtube it most definitely is not).

Now, it's a great game imo (one should not get attached to origionals, unless it's Star Wars) but the fact that people can't enjoy it with nothing being said to them that they could expect something like this is horribad. PCs get upgraded all the time, that's why you have minimum specs... but I don't believe I've heard of that with a console before.

DA:2 Minimum Specs
Non-Xbox 360 Slim
Non-Signature Edition Game
HDTV

Currently all of the above are having issues with this game (some more than others). I swear it's almost as if they shipped the wrong build to the manufactorer. (At least if the Demo supported the SDTVs and was an older version of the game).

As a follow up, glitches will get fixed in time. If you know what they are then just don't use them. If people want to screw up their games, more power to them. Someone else succeeding doesn't affect me in the slightest (unless it's one of those games where being number 1 in the world nets an achievement)

If I can't read the dialog and choices then I can't play the game.  Whats the point in spending after tax $65.00 for a game I can't enjoy because of that issue?   Looks like a trip back to GameStop to return DA2 and the Offical Guide.

That, my friend, is not a glitch... it's a resolution problem, a design oversight or the like (maybe I just define glitches wierdly). Read my post above for my rant on how it isn't playable for SD users (Edit: Even has a new 'Minimum Specs for console users').

The glitch I'm referring to is the infinite xp glitch (and the shield armor glitch, but I haven't seen how you do it) which could be used for getting a couple of achievements quickly (I think level 7 and 20 give them for spec and being level 20?)

I'm having the same issues as stated in previous posts. Wide screen squished to fit my sdtv, and flickering of the characters in and out of wide screen. At least I'm assuming that's what's happening... (other threads say people with hdtv's are having same issue)

I could tolerate the squished look on the wide angle camera shots, and the excessive attack button mashing is getting a little old. But when the characters flicker around in the cutscenes, it's hard to get immersed into the story!
Please fix this soon.
This would be a good reason to push a release date. Major bugs like this, in a story heavy game ruin the experience.
