We're looking into these, and other issues. We do not currently have an ETA for a patch.

There will not be a patch by the end of the week - the time it takes between leaving the hands of internal testing (once we come up with a solution), through the distribution process and into your hands is more than a week alone, and completely outside our control.

If after 20 days they still don't have an ETA, it's not looking good :(

Just freakin' communicate with us Bioware ffs.

It's been 20 days? Christ, nothing like buying a sixty dollar game you can't play.

Well I guess an all systems patch is on the way at some point.  Probably in a couple weeks from the sound of it.

From the thread about the Timestamps issue, a reply about a Patch incoming from someone who knows :-

While I can't tell you the specifics just yet (and believe me, I'm trying to get this out to everyone ASAP) I can say that it contains a very large number of fixes.

It is way past the point where we, as customers should be patient or understanding. There needs to be some serious patching done and soon.

If the patch for consoles is too large for the Xbox 360 to fit into a Title Update then something must be done to release it as a FREE DLC.

They'll probably come on here gloating about their "success" as soon as the patch is done too, so expect at least 7+ more days from when they tell us about it.

I suddenly have this creeping suspicion, a horrifying suspicion, that... maybe they did the video format thing on purpose.

What if... What if this is just the first step of a push to strong-arm HD in as the new standard? A new era when SDTVs are just strictly outdated, and games simply aren't made to fit their format anymore?

But that's a silly idea, right?

I think it was just an oversight... a really bad oversight.  They don't need to strong-arm HD as the new standard as no one produces a SDTV anymore.  By the nature of the market the vast majority of people will eventually have an HDTV as they won't have an option when they need a replacement.

I really don't think it was on purpose, just a really big blunder.

Anyone have a problem with their customized Hawke's family not getting customized?
I made my Hawke blonde, and my family was still dark haired and looked exactly like they did on my first TWO playthroughs.

Carver and Bethany will always have dark hair. The face depends on the preset you choose for Hawke.

Yeah I got this one too. Among other glitches. Really hoping the patch is soon out. I lost some respect for Bioware on this one.

I'm starting to fear that there might just be way too much to fix to actually be able to offer the patches to Xbox 360.

That wouldn't shock me, but what would shock me is if BioWare/EA tried to do something to make this right for the customers.

Aren't there still a ton of glitches left on DAO that never got patched?
Sure makes you wonder. <_<

Yeah but those glitches in DA:O aren't game breaking glitches. Most of them are just minor ones like the Warden Commander Amor from Wardens Keep not looking right in the game on humans.

I would like to cut Bioware some slack here since it's obvious that it's EA's (mis)management culture that has put us the legion of gamers in the pit we are in now.

It took Bioware 5 years to make DAO, a process which started well before the acquisition by EA. I can understand the inferior graphics due to the fact that the game was built on a dated engine, given the lengthy period that it's been in development. On the other hand, DA2 was made in 1 year. The sequel is devoid of any passion and soul that Bioware was known for putting into their games. It reeks of extreme EA-ness from lazy game design choices (i.e. the same 4 recycled dungeons), to not having enough resources dedicated to QA testing (a board full of identified bugs with new ones being discovered everyday).

EA has sucked the soul out of Bioware and its games with its management methods. I believe a public apology to us gamers is in order. Your PR resources are better spent doing that instead of shooting worthless self-boasting clips about equal employment opportunity to gays (http://www.youtube.c...aqGCY28_k#t=37s). While I do appreciate the existence of this forum as an effort to patch the screw-ups, all this wouldn't be necessary if you had devoted the resources needed to make a complete and working game in the first place.

The EA argument doesn't work... Mass Effect 2 had next to zero issues with bugs.  I can't recall experiencing any, and if there were any, none of them were even as close to as serious or game breaking as the ones in Dragon Age II.

That assumes they even care... I'm pretty sure EA doesn't. I'm not sure about BioWare anymore. I can't believe that their QA is so inept as to have missed the multitude of bugs and errors that made it to release. Unfortunately, the alternative explanation of them being aware of the bugs and releasing anyway, seems to point to a mindset of being more concerned with the short term dollar than with long term consumer confidence/relations.

I'm very disappointed and really hope that I do not have to wait as long as I did after getting Origins to actually play this game.

I see some people saying, "Oh well, I'll just grit my teeth and bare but I'm not sure I'll replay". Thing is, I'm a bit of a completionist/perfectionist so it infuriates me when I know I'm not playing a game as intended.

People shouldn't have to 'put up with' broken products. It makes it sort of insulting that there is content in there you have to buy if you don't get the game new (Black Emporium, I think) to discourage people buying it secondhand.

I'm not entirely sure where the fault lies; Bioware or EA. I'm definitely no expert but it seems astonishing that games can be brought out nowadays with so many flaws. I mean, were there not a lot of testers?

I applaud those in here who are not doing the whole 'willy sucking fanboy' routine. I do appreciate the work that Bioware have put in to this, however that does not mean I have to think it's adequate when it certainly does not feel that way.

As for not keeping us updated in detail on patching, I understand the reasons I've read yet I still think that extended silence and then a slightly condescending notelet is not the way to gain the confidence of your consumer/fan base.

I had truly thought that perhaps the whole bugfest of Origins and Awakening would not repeat itself. I will continue to hope this is just a minor speed bump.

On last thing: Oh by God, does the fact that the PC gamers had many fixes to DA:O problems gripe me! I get that it's easier for them and all, but gah!

PATCH THE ****ING GAME!!!

I could be enjoying this game if you guys patched the serious issues, instead of fixing "Everything" in one.

This Isabella glitch makes the game UNPLAYABLE. U-N-P-L-A-Y-A-B-L-E.

What I don't understand is selling out to EA the day before Mass Effect launched... The day before a hugely successful RPG launches that would guarantee large revenues... you sell your company? Why? Why cut EA in? Think of all the money they would have kept by now on both mass effects, both dragon ages, if they had resisted the beast-that-cannot-be-fed that is EA.

EDIT: And they might not have looooong time Bioware fans spending dozens of pages complaining about game killing bugs that have lingered for nearly a month after a rushed launch.
