For anyone who has already bought the game, can you help me? I played Dragon Age: Origins, and imported that character into Dragon Age Origins: Awakening.  Then, I imported that character in Golems of Amgarrak, and then imported thatcharacter into Witch Hunt, so it was a "chain" that linked all the way back to Dragon Age: Origins.  Which save file do I import into Dragon Age 2 if I want all of the descisions from Dragon Age: Origins, all the way through and to Witch Hunt, to carry over into Dragon Age 2?

Import the clear save from Witch Hunt, that will recognize everything that you'd done up to that point.

Witch Hunt.

There's no way Origins is going to know about events in other save files. But Witch Hunt can know what happened in Origins.

Also, to make sure you have the right one there is a Plot Summary button that will show you a list of your decisions that will be carried over.
Don't be like me and choose the one that ignores which ending you got for Witch Hunt.

Are you guys sure? I played Origins, Awakening, Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt, importing the character from the previous game into each one, making a chain linking back to Origins. Are you guys 100% sure?

Really?  So if I do that for the Witch Hunt save, it will show all the descisions I made in Origins, Awakening, Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt?

Yes, I am sure. If I was wrong, it would mean that causality and the basis of the universe as we understand it is wrong.

The future does not retroactively effect the past.

Yes, it will have a big list of all the (important) plot points in those games.

Last I heard though - it doesn't work anyways.

Sweet.  Do you already have the game?

@Efesell So you had no issues when importing? The summary correctly lists all the major decisions you carried out from Origins to Witch Hunt?

All of my flags were listed properly when I imported.
Is this only present in some versions?

It seems like there are only two options for the Ferelden throne flag. I get Alistair is king, even though he married Anora. So either Alistair is king, or Anora is queen. Unless someone else got a third result, that is.

I'm getting the Xbox version. Will the plot points still show up?

They're saying the game gradually corrupts your data as you put more hours into the game (unknown reason why), not that things are listed improperly while importing. Reading this stuff after playing DAO and its DLCs over the past few days to get a good save ready for DA2 annoys me, quite frankly...

I'm not sure I follow you.  Even if he marries Anora, Alistair is indeed king.

Hm, well I guess I'll just have to keep an ear out for any references I know shouldn't be there.

What I'm saying is that in the plot summary, the choice is lised as "Alistair is King" with no mention of the fact that he married Anora and she is also Queen.

Conversely, if you put Anora on the throne, the choice is listed as "Anora is Queen"

From this I conclude that there is no third option. Otherwise I'd have to assume that it's not importing my choice correctly.

So should I import my Witch Hunt regular save or Witch Hunt auto-save?

The auto save made after Witch Hunt was completed.

The final Witch Hunt autosave takes into account your decision regarding Morrigan. Use that one. If you are still worried, just check the plot summary before you finalize. It will show all the decisions you are worrying about. All the way through from Origins.

Do you have the Witch Hunt auto-save from the very end that occurs with version 1.1?

Rule of thumb is use the last save you have.

Still trying to figure this out. Don't have the game myself, but according to a poll, it's affecting about half of everyone.

And it doesn't occur when you import - it occurs as you play the game, and the save file "changes it's mind" about what you imported, basically.

There are also some people saying that it affects DA 2's OWN flags - so that even things you did in DA 2 itself won't be "remembered" by the game the right way.

Are you playing the console or PC version of DA2?
