I don't know if the game will be playable for you or not than - the game's only been out for a matter of hours, so we don't really know very well who's getting the bug and why.

Oh it'll be playable.
If such a thing happens it's regrettable but it will not break my game.

Well, if you're just playing for the (combat) gameplay and not story or choice, sure.

A fair amount of Bioware fans have a different view on what "The Game" is, though.

Don't put words in my mouth.

I value the story more than the gameplay overall but I will not allow a few hiccoughs to ruin the entire experience. It really depends on the extent of this bug. If the game develops a serious case of alzheimers later on and suddenly can't remember one quest from the next I'll be a bit more upset.

If a character just happens to occasionally say something odd then I'll just deal with it and move on.

If the game was a direct sequel, and you were importing your character from DAO, it would be a big deal. Since it isn't, it's not.

When importing directly, both with DAO and ME2, almost every relevant choice I've made came through correctly. Aside from some known bugs regarding minor issues.

The story in DA2 is not really going to be all that heavily impacted by the choices you made in DAO. I'm sure there will be plenty of references, but it's not like the world will be unrecognizable to you if there are bugs.

Now I'm curious as to what will change as I playing if anything. I imported my test game save (the one I used to learn DA:O, Awakenings, etc.). It will be most amusing.

And honestly, I can't imagine how some of the choices are even going to be referenced aside from maybe a codex entry.

Uhm - people are saying that it's even messing up DA'2's own flags. We have no confirmation, but if the game won't even stay consistent with it's own choices - story wise, THAT'S NOT REALLY IGNORABLE. (Not that it would be either way)

I did acknowledge that.

When I go to import my Witch Hunt file on Xbox it shows all the events correctly in plot summary yet it isn't listing anything from Golems or the Witch Hunt. The newest Hunt save was my manual, the auto is before fighting the strider creature.

Wow, people are saying that? Because if people are saying that, it must be gospel.

I've found that 98% of the bugs people complain about here are somehow never experienced in my own playthroughs. Not sure what this means, but that's been my experience. So I'll wait till I see a major flaw before I start having a reaction.

Yeah this sort of thing tends to go from occasional to HAPPENS. EVERY. TIME.
I mean it's regrettable that it's there at all but I'll wait for a bit more cause to get my anger on.

All the flags show up fine for me. Importing the Witch Hunt autosave after the confrontation with Morrigan. All the Origins, Awakening flags are fine. And the decisions on each of the DLC packs are fine as well.

Should mention Connor, which allies you made in Origins, who you picked to rule Orz/Ferelden, what you did with the Architect/Amaranthine/Vigil, and how you concluded Witch Hunt.

I'm sure it probably has something for Golems but I never got that DLC.

There aren't really any decisions in Golems.

Yes, I am sure. If I was wrong, it would mean that causality and the basis of the universe as we understand it is wrong.

The future does not retroactively effect the past.

Just a tiny thing... *affect the past. A basic rule to guide you is that 'effect' is a noun, 'affect' is a verb.

I think "played Golems" is just an on/off switch that tells DA 2 whether or not to include a Harvester Encounter in the game.

It seems like there are only two options for the Ferelden throne flag. I get Alistair is king, even though he married Anora. So either Alistair is king, or Anora is queen. Unless someone else got a third result, that is.

I'm not sure I follow you.  Even if he marries Anora, Alistair is indeed king.

There being a difference between Alistair being king alone and Ailstair being king with Anora Queen. I am forced to assume that you knew this, and simply wanted to argue.

What I don't understand, and what I need help with--is how to import the save files period. I checked the DragonAge2Config, and I couldn't see an option to let me import like Mass Effect 2 does. I also couldn't see anything at the main menu when I start the game, only the "New Game" option. When I git that, it tells me to pick any Human Male/Female of three classes and it starts the intro video.

Am I just being blind and missing something here? >>;

You have to go through the intro battle first.

Once you have played through the epilogue, and are creating a character for the first time, you are given the option to import, or to pick one of three default settings.
