Please is this going to fixed through a patch? Does anyone have a work-a-round. I'm sure this has been posted already, but I'm to frustrated searching for it. Cant save the game, nor can I access the extra content, and or in game special items, via my purchase from gamespot, DAII Signature Edition.

Any ideas, Links for solutions, and or solution. Come on Devs, please fix this asap.

Can you guys try running the game with the DX9 renderer. It seems to "fix" the issue for now.

Have you tried a reboot? I know it is a simplistic solution but I have seen this issue in the past, and it was often fixed by a reboot. It seemed to have some relation to plugging in or removing an external storage device like a PDA, Phone, USB hard drive, Card Reader etc.

It is actually an OS level error coming up. Windows is confused about drives, and when Dragon Age is trying to access a drive for some operation, Windows throws this error.

Google 'Please insert a disk into a drive \\device\\harddisk' and you will find a plethora of theories on this and no definitive solutions. I will keep digging, but maybe the reboot will help some of you.

This same thing happened to me on the DA2 demo and it happened again today on the DA2 retail with the disk in the CDROM drive..... I just kept clicking the retry button (about 3 times) and then the game started up. I really hope this is not going to continue doin this...

Switch to DX9 -- I get the same error but only when I select DX11. (Had the same issue with the demo.) Alternately, you can use <ctrl><alt><del> to get to the alert window and hit continue until the alert is gone (for me it's 3x as it does it for my a, c and d drives) then return to the game and it works fine. (Win 7 64).

It seems like the check for a disk is occurring due to something it's looking for regarding DX11.

I have this issue and also got my from impulse. Though earlier I added it to the non-steam game thing so I could still chat with my friend on steam and the thing is I didn't get the error any more. Yet when I try to run it any other way it comes back.

Do you have card readers (example: SD) attached?

I just disabled my card readers and restarted the game and the error went away.

I have the same issue, and it ONLY happens when the game's logging me into the EA network when I first load up. I restarted my computer and still have the issue, and don't have this issue with any other game.

Ok, Disconnected my Card/Reader/writer from my motherboard, and it fixed the problem for me. I switched backed to DX11 and the error was gone.

>.<; Needing to physical disconnect a card-reader from the computer just to run a game is insane!

Hope I don't run into this problem when I get home :(

Problem solved, at least for me:
I was pooting around on my girlfriend's computer trying to figure out why it was trying to access some odd nonexistant drive, and being the resourceful computer-gal I am, I popped into the bios.
I realized that she had a 1.44" floppy drive selected, but none physically installed in her computer.  I changed that setting and voila: problem solved.

Hope this helps you all :D  Also I recommend running a scandisk and disabling any virtual drives you might use, such as Daemon Tools or Alcohol or whatever.:bandit:

very nice, this worked for ma as well. Didn't even realize floppy was enabled in BIOS, never had one in this PC. Now if only my Signature edition DLC was available in-game....hmm...

Thank you WanderNeko! <3

Reboot didnt help for me, I still have the issue with the game requesting from drive A: to access my account online.
No pen drives in use, no media readers in use.

Just my C: drive for my OS on my SSD, D: is my SATA drive for apps and where the game is installed. and E: is my DVD from which the game was installed.

Same issue.

I have a card reader installed on this system as well.  No other external drives or ipods attached.
Will try reboot and restart game tomorrow.

Win7 professional - 64bit.

Clean install.

Mine says:

Device\\Harddisk4\\DR4 immediately after the "press any key" screen and just before the menu screen loads up.  The dragon age words start appearing on the screen but then stall for a few seconds after which the error pops up.  Randomly clicking close, retry and cancel seems to always get me past it and into game.  No other technical issues after this point: game seems to run as it should..
