Are these people insane? I know the French have a massive war trauma (even moreso than the Germans) but this is just sad.Cheylus wrote...
In french, there is also JVN (14/20), "the first big disappointment of 2011", and Canard PC (5/10) considering DA2 as "a declaration of war to PC games".

What a strange scoring system.. first time I seen something out of 20 points.
That's the most common grading scale in French schools. You don't get an A+, you get 19/20.

Mayhaps they will hold on with the BioWare Treatment (if it's broke, let's operate it with a chainsaw, it's easier than with a scapel) for the third installment.
Hahaha, that made me laugh a lot, very true also.

Just what happened to Bioware?
Yes, children, Electronic Arts is the devil.
I'd say Activision and Capcom are far more worse.

It's stupid to whine about the lack of tactics when you play the game on normal.
I can't believe how much they dumbed down life. Ten year olds just don't give me much of a struggle in an arm wrestling or chess match, and I can hold my breath longer than a five month old infant. Seriously, what is going on?
That makes absolutely no sense.
It's only like that if you honestly believe Origins actually had anything even close to "tactics" beyond the most mundane features. I know how hard that must be to process, especially when they give you labels like "tactic slots" and a "tactical camera".

I'm affraid that only the French are objective with their review, Bioware killed Dragon Age I hope it's not the beginnig of the End for this wonderful Studio but if they still follow that way we will loose one of the best Studio.
Money isn't everything Bioware, I'm your first fan since ever but I'm really disappointed... or maybe just very sad
At Least we still have the Elder Scroll

I still think this will be a good game, but for sure this will not be DAO 2 : it seems it will be a good RPG, not a great one.
I can live with that as DAO was not a great RPG either in my opinion.

Metacritic XBOX user review scores: 5/10

Metacritic PC user review scores: 7.3/10
And there's this review the OP posted which I also have always trusted their opinion.
I just wonder what Mister Gaider has to say regarding these scores, specifically where the reviewers are according to his own "denial chart":

I'm not sure what stage these people would fit at?

Oh rly? Last time I checked anything above an 80% score was a damn good game... and by far the reviews are falling into the 80-95% range.
Considering how game journalism works these days, yes, anything under 90% for a major title with lots of bribe money behind them is pretty bad.
Ah yes you can back up your claim yes? And I'm asking for specific proof that EA has paid off reviewers so DA2 can get above 80%, not outlier evidence on other games/companies (Eidos). Enlighten me oh paranoid conspiracy theorist.
Can't be that the most common reason for review scores being the way they are is that it comes down to whether the reviewer likes or dislikes the genre
being reviewed which leads to understandable bias. Nope.

I hope BIOWARE learn from this horrible horrible mistake . Like the test point out , they barly had time to work on it , its normal it does not deliver !
The very strict development time has nothing to do with Bioware.Sadly,it's EA who is funding and they more or less decide how much time is devoted to a game.
EA was and is still clueless to rpg and it's almost mission impossible to pull it off in 1 year and a half.It might work for a shooter or an indy game, but rpg usually are harder to create as there's so many factor into the equation like: writing, creating characters, numerous setpiece, etc.

This is incredibly unfair towards Bioware. Last year they made the exact changes to Mass Effect 2 and were praised for it by the same reviewers. Hailed as the best RPG of the year and a revolution for the genre.
I didn't like the changes but that doesn't make this any less unfair. Naturally they will lissen to these reviews and change Dragon Age 2 as well. But now these reviewers are taking the popular vote and join in on the bashing. They are to blame for this as well, for praising ME2 into the heavens.
I don't want these changes but this bashing is going to far. People are now hating for the sake of hating.

The tactics aren't too bad, though I would love to have an option to force a character to chug a potion.
It's not that hard even on hard so i dunno

A French review doesn't hold much weight on an international scale.

EA is far worse than Activision and Capcom. But it's hard to put any of them in their own scale, considering the number of destructive things they've done to the gaming industry. For EA's part, it's taking once good studio's and driving them into the ground with a 5tonne impact driver. I get the feeling in a few years we'll be hanging Bioware up with other legands of history, like Origin and Westwood.Lord_Valandil wrote...

It's the EA touch of death, it corrupts, then kills slowly.
(I would have added Interplay, but they're pretty much dead and staked out in the sun)
