Mass Effect has been out for 170 weeks, Mass Effect 2 has been out for 58 weeks, and both sales continue to climb. I'd say the franchise is doing pretty well.

If you'd pay attention, you'd find that I was talking specifically about this thread...There are obviously pertinent reasons why people dislike ME2 as the threads you link show, but when there is a constant stream of substanceless posts it becomes a drag.

No need to act pompous though, for you seem to be coming across as a complete arse. I think people would be happier if the didn't try and spoil everything with being negative. ME and ME2 are great. ME2 is more fun to play and still has the continuation of the story...

All that could be said has been already said. People aren't obliged to repost why they think ME2 sucks every time a fanboy comes at them with such strong arguments as "Scores!" "Sales!" "Trolls!" "BioWare!" etc.

I used to be very positive about ME2. But since it sucked, I've become negative about it. And I can't see anything wrong about it.

Well, your opinion is your opinion, just I disagree with it. It didn't suck though, and it's not fanboy-ish to quote sales, awards etc. as they how games are classed as successful. For Mass Effect 2 to win the BAFTA for best game is pretty much THE counter argument to saying it sucked.

I preferred ME1 to ME2 but not by a huge margin. DA2 I hated. So I'll buy ME3 day of release or even pre order it if it turns out bad then maybe I'll be more ccynical about any future ME games. I won't be buying any DA games though.

I could care less if some nerd hates the dissolution of RPG gaming so I hate when they are always being the creeper at the Mass Effect party. You don't see me throwing the dice in the lake at the D&D party.

Generally awards go to the games that deserve them. BAFTA award the game they feel deserve it as the game is approved and thought good by loads of people. Just because you miserable sods think otherwise and try nd prove otherwise is stupid, as there is way more evidence against you,

To those who like the game, it is great. To others, it isn't. This doesn't make any opinion for or against it more important than another person or groups' opinions, because, beyond basic rudimentary criteria such as overall performance, etc., there is no objectively determined or concrete way to define something that is considered "great". Personal taste is the defining factor.

People who like to play games that are fun and easy to play, with a great selection of characters, good continuation of the overall story set out in the first installment, fantastic gameplay, and wonderful graphics/cutscenes/conversations....

In my experience, the second of a trilogy is the hardest to get the best, as the beginning and ending are just that. The first is fantastic for setting up the lore, introducing characters and the universe, the third ends it in a fantastic way.

The middle is the most difficult to get perfect, as everyone wants the story to progress in a way which they desire. Honestly, Bioware did a fecking great job with ME2, and for them to get hundreds of awards for it shows that it is great.

Oceans 11 > Oceans 12 < Oceans 13
FotR > Two Towers < RotK

And in this case, ME3 will be better than both!
