Because obviosuly BioWare makes the worst games on the market, obviously.Schneidend wrote...
I'm not sure why Bioware releasing quality games would make one hesitant to buy their games.
Hesitant to buy ME3 after ME2 & DA2?

Agreed.
Mass Effect 2 currently stands as my favourite game of all time not just in the last 2 years. Dragon Age 2 was a lot of fun, not just fun but highly engaging i absolutely adored the characters, the way DA2 unfolded was really good, i enjoyed the different stages throughout the years Hawke spent in Kirkwall, yeah the game wasn't perfect and it was buggy, and some of the side quests weren't fantastic but it still really enjoyed it and think it is was quality game from bioware.
As for ME3, if there is a super limited special edition, i will be buying it whatever the cost. Why? Because its not often a game trilogy like this comes along, and i want something special to remember it by, something other than the awesome memories of the last 4 years of playing the ME games.

ME2 > ME1 in everything but story.
And OP, ME3 has been in development for about the same time as ME2, it was being co-developed with it.

But as someone once said, as long as the devs for ME3 do not say: push a button and something awesome happens, we will be safe and ME3 will be amazing!

Probably you're going to play it anyway, so the only thing you have left to decide is when to buy it

This is a Casey Hudson quote directly from the GI article:
"If you look at the way Mass Effect 2 was received by fans and critics -- given the huge, sweeping changes we made -- I think there's reason to believe that the formula we arrived at was right."
From the "Return of the RPG" section of the article:
"... BioWare isn't reverting to old iterations of Mass Effect's design; instead, the studio is adding greater depth and customization to the current model."

Words are nice, actions carry more wieght, we shall see Mr. Hudson.
The story will matter most imo.
Improving upon the rpg elements will be simply adding them.(Bioware knows how to do this, I dunno about EA)
The shooters need only shoot things to be pleased.(imo)

Actually, the point of my posting of that quote is: No, BW is definitely NOT going retro in ME3. The discussion about whether it will is pointless.

Nope. Liked Mass Effect and DAO. Absolutely love ME2 and DA2. I am not on the nerd rage anti DA2 bandwagon.
I love both game series. DA2 has so much more wow to it compared to DA:O imho.

I really liked ME1 and when ME2 came along I enjoyed that as well. There were changes but I got used to them. They're adding more RPG elements into the third game so that'll make me happy. As long as they stay faithful to the story, I don't see anything going wrong.
I will be pre-ordering Mass Effect 3 at the earliest given opportunity and I will most likely sink a lot of cash into the collector's edition. I still have faith in BioWare.

Mass Effect 3 sounds like it will be a mix between what made ME1 good and what made ME2 good plus with it's own good stuff added in, so I can't wait.

It seems that the game has become even more linear and even more action oriented than ME2!!!
My hope was for a new ME1 ...or at least (AT LEAST!!!) a mix between 1 & the spin-off!
No, BiowEA is looking at uncharted/gear
