This seems to be my problem as well. Though I can alter everything else, it won't allow me to change Hawke's first name away from it's default of Garrett. Let's get an answer to this people. Before more people encounter it and it becomes more troublesome.

I have this problem as well. I am NOT on a slim. I am on an elite.

I could change the name on the demo last night.

Yes me to can´t change the name WTF???

I rebooted and tried a male warrior and I could rename him. Started new and and made my male rogue and now I could rename him as well. Working now [shrug]

I have this problem as well, I don't play on a slim. I read somewhere else it may because you use import option before changing name which I didn't do though.

** I started over and still couldn't rename.

After shutting down my xbox and and restarting it it seems to work.

Yeah. My problem was solved when I dashboarded, and started a new game. Don't know why it does it, but it doesn't seem to be that serious.

Yes, this is a sporadic issue with the virtual keyboard occasionally not coming up on Slims and Elites (older models don't appear to encounter this issue). If a custom name is important to you, the current workaround is to replay the opening section until the virtual keyboard comes up. In the meantime, we're looking into it on our end.

I just had this same issue, but I have neither a Slim nor an Elite.

I've also had this issue, and my console isn't elite or slim.

I've had the same problem too! I'm not using either of those consoles too! I thought it might have to something to do with how radically different Bethany looked in this playthrough! I think it may be all 360's that are affected by this!

I have an (older) 360, and have not experienced this issue on any of my 6 playthroughs.

I have the first gen Black 120GB Elite, and have had no problems whatsoever with this game. Incredible how subtle differences can affect so many!

Are you supposed to be able to change Hawke's first name via the Mirror in the BE or is that just a rumor? Cause I have never seen the option to do so. Just wondering.

Making it able to change the name via the mirror would be a great idea in my opinion so people don't have to keep trying to restart the game just so they can rename hawke at the beginning. (Just ran into the issue myself when I decided to start a game up as a female mage)

Pretty sure everything can be changed in the Black Emporium... I had no problems with or without the update when starting the game.

Just started the game fresh, and encountered the same problem To bad that the game is broken even before you start playing..

Just bumped into this issue m'self. Not really the first thing that I wanted to deal with, coming back to DA2 after so long, but oh, well.

Replaying the opening section now. And just for information purposes, I'm on one of the Elite Slims as well. I'm kinda doubting this is ever going to be fixed at this point.
